Chapter 354
Married in a Flash Embarking on the Journey to Wealth
Chapter 354
The âbratsâ Linda spoke of were actually Leslieâs cousins, the twin sons of Leslieâs uncle. They were the ones Leslie had sent to Aureliaâs company to handle the plagiarism incident.
At this moment, the two of them were also the owners of the 50 million dollar necklace.
Leslie climbed the winding stairs. A few moments later, cries and pleas echoed from the
room.
âLeslie, we were wrong. We really didnât know Eva borrowed the necklace to frame Aurelia,â pleaded the older brother, Nathan.
âSince weâve helped Aurelia before, please forgive us,â chimed in Nick, the younger
brother.
Leaning against the window, Leslie lit a cigarette. His gaze was cold, and he was clearly not satisfied with their pleas.
Though young, they were eventually going to inherit their dadâs company. If they were so careless now, how would they handle things in the future?
Nathan continued, âThis necklace was bought at auction for our mother. But she didnât like it, so itâs been sitting in the bank vault for two or three years. Eva must have seen it at the auction house and wanted to borrow it to increase her magazineâs publicity, and we justâ¦â
âHer parents are regional CEOs, and theyâve had some dealings with our dad. We thought
ould be mutual benefits and good relations in the future. Who knew she had such
evil intentions?â Nick added.
Finishing their explanation, the brothers cautiously observed Leslieâs expression.
They werenât afraid of anyone in the family except Leslie. Because when he got angry, he
could be merciless.
Leslie exhaled a puff of smoke. âIs that all?â
The brothers exchanged glances, then opened a drawer and handed Leslie a document.
âLeslie, please accept this small token of respect, as our tribute to Aurelia,â Nathan
offered.
âYes, yes. Aurella is the best!â Nick echoed.
Leslle glanced at it and nodded. âEvaâ¦â
âDonât worry, weâll cooperate fully and make sure she canât escape,â Nathan said.
âThe internet,â Leslie said.
Nick pulled out another document. âThe list is right here. Weâve been itching to ease Aureliaâs burden.â
Leslie acknowledged them with a grunt. âIâm off.â
âTake care, Leslie. When will you bring Aurelia over?â Nick blurted out.
Nathan kicked him. How could Leslie bring her home when she didnât even know Leslieâs identity?
Leslie paused for a moment, then replied, âSoon.â
With that, he left.
Nick leaned closer to Nathan. âIt looks like things are working out for them. I quite like
Aurelia.â
Nathan stroked his chin. âIndeed, Leslie seems different now. We wouldnât see the end of the lecturing if this happened in the past. Heâs become surprisingly considerate.â
By the time Leslie arrived home, it was midnight. He thought Aurelia was already asleep, but she was actually lying on the couch.
She jolted awake at the noises immediately.
He frowned. âWhy are you napping here?â
Aurelia was a little dazed and rubbed her eyes. âI saw the food you ordered for me. I guess you wouldnât eat given how busy you are, so I decided to wait for you to make supper.â
He paused. âI told you not to wait for me.â
She stretched and yawned. âYou canât cook, and going to sleep hungry isnât good for stomach. Youâve been working hard and Iâm basically unemployed now. I donât have to wake up early tomorrow. Just wait. Iâll make you some soup.â

He hummed in response and stared at her from behind, recalling what his mother said.
There would be mundane things and surprises in life. Was Aurella considered a surprise?
Aurelia put on the apron and walked over to the kitchen. âMr. Synder, Leon Synder called me today.â
