Chapter 373
Married in a Flash Embarking on the Journey to Wealth
Chapter 373
Outside the building, the online influencers were puzzled when they saw Lucia walking Aurelia down the stairs.
After saying goodbye to Lucia, Aurelia thanked Allen before getting into Leslieâs car.
Before the car even started moving, Aurelia anxiously said, âMr. Synder! Whatâs going on? How come Iâm the one who owns the necklace?
Leslie struggled to get the words out. He was about to explain when Aurelia interrupted him and said, âOh, I get it! Your boss is the one who secretly owns the necklace, right? Is that why you went to beg him again?â
After pondering for a moment, Leslie replied casually, âYeah.â
Aurelia looked at him with urgency. âIf Eva doesnât want this to blow up, sheâll have to pay up. Iâll give you both sums once I get the money from the collaboration with IN Magazine Publisher.â
Leslie frowned and asked, âWhy?â
Aurelia explained, âYou should hand it over to your boss. He must really trust you to bother getting it notarized and hiring such a tough lawyer. Just these expenses alone are no small sum. If you owe him too much, youâll feel troubled.
âI know you donât like being controlled, so letâs not dwell on it too much. Iâll return the money from the necklace, and weâll figure out the rest of the favors as we go.â
Leslie stared at Aurelia in disbelief. Even at the lowest market price, she shouldâve known. that collaborating with IN Magazine Publisher under her own name would still rake in at sixâfigure income after this event.
And yet, she was handing everything over to him just so he wouldnât owe his boss any
favors.
Sensing Leslieâs gaze, Aurelia looked at him, puzzled. âWhatâs wrong? Is it too little? But
Iâm broke.â
âItâs alright, keep the money,â Leslie said.
âNo, weâre married. We shouldâ¦â Aurelia stopped herself midâsentence, accidentally letting slip the word âmarriedâ.

âWhat should we do?â Leslie was cager to hear her continue.
âHelp each other,â Aurelia replied.
âIs that all?â Leslie didnât like the awkward atmosphere, but he knew he had been pushing Aurelia away all this time. So why did it feel like he was suddenly being friendly?
Aurelia didnât understand what he meant. Even with close relationships, financial clarity still mattered. Shouldnât fake spouses be even more accurate with their divisions?
As she was about to answer Leslieâs question, a reckless online influencer approached
their car with a phone in hand.
Aurelia quickly covered her face. âHurry, letâs get out of here! These people will do anything for fame.â
With a frown, Leslie glanced at the person by the car window. Then, he hit the gas and sped away, leaving a trail of dust for those behind them.
Leslie was about to ask his question again, but Aureliaâs phone ringing interrupted him.
Aurelia answered the call. âHey. Really? Okay, Iâll be there right away.â
After ending the call, she breathed a sigh of relief and turned to Leslie. âMr. Clark nabbed Seth at the airport and found tons of faceâswapped videos and photos of me on his laptop. That settles it, then. Mr. Clark wants me to swing by,â she explained.
âAlright.â Leslie nodded and began heading toward the police station.
As soon as Aurelia and Leslie stepped into the lobby, they heard Sethâs voice echoing loudly throughout the space. âIt wasnât me! Kimberly was the one who reached out to me! â he said.
âBullshit! Seth, if you didnât have that idea, would you have agreed so easily? And you even swapped faces with Aurelia overnight!â Kimberly snapped from the next room.
Just then, Megan Grant, the cop handling the case, rushed over. âAurelia, youâre here. You heard it all. Thereâs no need for questioning. They revealed everything during the argument,â she explained.
âWhen can I publish the faceâswapped photos online?â Aurelia asked.
