Chapter 70
Married in a Flash Embarking on the Journey to Wealth
Chapter 70
Seeing Kimberlyâs sour expression, Aurelia felt a strange sense of satisfaction.
Just a couple of days ago, Kimberly had been complaining that even with money, she couldnât buy coffee from the Beanless Brews coffee shop. Today, she had unintentionally thwarted herself, which deprived her of an opportunity to flaunt it on social media.
What was even more unexpected was that the person delivering the coffee was the owner of Beanless Brews coffee shop. With his blond hair and tall stature, he immediately caught everyoneâs attention upon entering.
âMs. M-â the handsome man started to call out in a friendly manner, but he quickly changed his tone after Linda shot him a meaningful glance. âMs. Miller, your coffee has arrived.â
âOkay, just leave it there,â Linda replied casually.
Everyone eagerly approached to take their coffee and took photos with the handsome coffee shop owner to share on their social media.
On the sidelines, Kimberly considered getting up a few times, but Aurelia watched her with a knowing smile. She could only sit back down, her regret evident on her face. It was quite comical.
As lunchtime approached its end, Linda announced that she wouldnât disturb their work any longer and prepared to leave. Aurelia escorted her downstairs and immediately took out her phone.
âMom, how much did you spend today? Iâll transfer the money to you right away.â
âWhy are you talking nonsense? I treated you to some food, and you want to give me money? Linda replied, displeased.
âBut there were so many things, which must have been expensive.â
âI said itâs okay, donât make a fuss. Do you still see me as your motherâinâlaw if you keep refusing?â Linda asked.
âAlright, then. Iâll treat you to something delicious next time.â
âSure, letâs go to that restaurant we often visit. Iâve been craving their snacks these past few days.â
âOkay. But, Mom, thank you.â
Linda probably had no idea how much she had helped Aurelia today. She could finally break free from the center of attention.
Linda pursed her lips and smiled. âWhy are you thanking me? Thank your husband. Heâs the one who asked me to come.â
Aureliaâs mind blanked for a moment, and she hesitated. âMr. Synder?â
Linda rolled her eyes. âYou keep everything to yourself even when youâre facing issues. I would have come earlier if I knew these people were treating you like this. Iâd make them envy you to death.â

Aurelia quickly intervened, fearing that Linda might end up treating everyone to afternoon tea every other day. âMom, since you know what theyâre like, itâs better if you donât come in the future. Itâs your money, and thereâs no need to waste it on others.â
Linda burst into laughter, covering her mouth. âEvery time Iâm with you, I canât help but laugh. Youâre right, Iâll buy for you next time, not for them.â
Aurelia nodded in agreement. âYes, that sounds like a plan. Please be careful on your way back.
âDonât worry.â
With a wave of her hand, Linda left the building. Aurelia breathed a sigh of relief and quickly started typing on her phone.
âMr. Synder, thank you for today.â
âYouâre welcome.â
Itâs still concise and very much like Leslieâs.
âHow about I make you a bento box tomorrow?â She remembered that she still owed Leslie a
bento.
âSure. Just go easy on the meat; I canât eat that much.â
âOh.â
If Leslie discovered the beef strips were a mixâup last time, would he get angry?
Aurelia couldnât help but burst into laughter.
She was surprised as she touched her face; it had been a long time since she had such a relaxed expression.
She never expected that she would end up living together with the cold and ruthless Leslie.
After putting her phone away, Aurelia went upstairs. As soon as she entered the office, she was immediately surrounded by Millie and the other colleagues.
