Chapter 2

2

Fake Dating... or is it real?

Jennie grabbed a champagne flute from a server. She had been forced to give out an award to her father at some Gala for administrators that their school held. She compromised with him after the Kai thing and figured this would pacify her father a little. She needed just a bit more time to get her life together before completely defying him.

Jennie and her mother were forced to stand next to him, smiling forcibly as he talked about the importance of family values and some other bullshit Jennie didn't buy. Fucking hypocrite cheater.

She downed the flute of champagne before grabbing another and dodging yet another one of her father's coworkers. She hated talking to them, they were usually in one of three categories—creepy, where they not so subtly hit on her, sexist, giving out backhanded compliments and asking her how hard it was to come to such a prestigious university and insinuating she only got in because her father was the president, or downright boring. The fact she preferred the dry boring conversations about administration and academics over the other ones spoke volumes.

These events were trash.

She decided she had made enough of an appearance that she could finally sneak out. She walked down the steps and she may have downed the champagne a little too fast because her heel got caught in one of the cracks on the bottom step and she wobbled.

She would have face planted if she hadn't flown into a body instead. Landing on top of it as they crashed to the ground. She heard a distinct oomph from under her as they landed.

"Sorry," Jennie mumbled, picking herself up. She reached a hand out to help the person she had tackled up off the ground and then cursed under her breath when she saw who it was.

Lisa refused Jennie's hand, picking herself up on her own and brushing off the dirt from her back.

"I know you hate me but did you really have to tackle me?" Lisa grumbled.

Jennie rolled her eyes.

"It's not my fault you lost your balance. Aren't you supposed to be a dancer?" Jennie quipped.

"How am I supposed to keep my balance when an angry kitten flies at me full speed?"

"You're being dramatic, and I told you to stop calling me that." Jennie said, crossing her arms.

"It's not my fault that's what you look like when you're mad, which is all the time."

Jennie threw her whole weight into the punch, hitting Lisa on the shoulder.

"Ouch. This isn't helping your case." Lisa said matter of factly.

Jennie hit her again in annoyance.

"Fine, baby brat! I'll stop calling you that." Lisa said smirking, because she knew Jennie hated when Lisa called her that too.

"I said stop—" Jennie was mid swing again when Lisa caught her arm this time. Jennie didn't get to finish her sentence because they were interrupted.

"Hey Jen." Kai was standing in front of them smirking, dressed in a suit with a pretty girl looped around his arm.

"Great." Jennie muttered. Kai was always late to these things and she had hoped to avoid him altogether.

"This is my date—" Kai faltered, not remembering her name. He covered it up by taunting Jennie instead. "Where's yours, or are you not over me yet?"

"Ew." Jennie answered, making a face at him, not deigning to respond.

"Of course you're not, where would you find someone more rich and handsome than me."

Lisa might not like Jennie, but she really didn't fucking like Kai. She didn't know why she did it. She had still absently been holding Jennie's arm after blocking her blow. She slid her hand down and laced her fingers into Jennie's, facing her and completely ignoring Kai.

"You're done with your stuffy party now right?" Lisa asked Jennie.

Jennie could only nod, too perplexed at the fact Lisa was suddenly holding her hand. Lisa, who absolutely loathed her and she hated back. Lisa smirked at Kai, not saying anything else and dragging Jennie behind her.

"Jennie! Where the hell do you think you're going?" Kai shouted after them angrily.

He tried to follow them when they didn't answer, grabbing Jennie's other arm to try to pull her back and Lisa noticed. She promptly turned around and stiff armed him, he flew back several paces.

"Keep your dirty slutty hands off of my date." Lisa said with a smirk on her face. "I believe yours is waiting for you." Lisa gestured to the girl who was now fuming and looked like she was about to bolt because of the way Kai was behaving, chasing after his ex girlfriend.

"As if Jennie would date you after dating me." Kai scoffed, looking at Lisa with disgust. Lisa was in sweats, and he was in a suit, it was clear to him who the better choice was. "There's no one else for her but me. Don't you know she's my fiancée?"

"Please." Lisa said derisively. "Don't you know everyone on campus thinks you're the biggest loser. Jennie could do much better than you."

Kai scoffed again. "Everybody wants me."

"No Kai. Everybody wants Jennie Kim, and you're the idiot that shouldn't have even had a chance with her but you did, and you still lost her like a dumbass." Lisa said truthfully.

She had heard some gossip about Jennie, there were always haters but for the most part most of the hate was directed towards Kai. Everybody did want a chance with Jennie and most of the school population wondered how someone would ever even cheat on her.

He lost his smirk for a second.

"Jennie. Your father expects you at that Gala." He said, ignoring Lisa now.

Jennie rolled her eyes at him and didn't respond, beginning to walk away. Lisa winked at Kai, taunting him as she followed Jennie, their hands still linked.

Jennie dropped Lisa's hand as soon as Kai was out of sight.

"Why did you do that?" Jennie asked a little harshly.

"You're welcome baby brat." Lisa said rolling her eyes. She should have known Jennie would still act like a bitch even after Lisa decided to rescue her.

"Thank you, but I don't need your help." Jennie said adamantly.

Truthfully, she was just embarrassed Lisa had seen that. She was embarrassed the whole school knew she had been cheated on by the campus idiot. She just hoped no one found out Jennie knew it had been happening all along and had never broken up with him over it. No one would understand why she hadn't. They would probably assume Jennie tolerated it because she was in love with him or something, or worse, that she was after his money.

Jennie started walking away from Lisa and she felt Lisa follow her.

"What are you doing?" Jennie asked, turning around with a glare. "Stop following me."

"Walking you home, obviously." Lisa answered dryly.

"I'm fine. It's only a few blocks." Jennie said walking again. She felt Lisa sidle up next to her, walking at her pace. Jennie's heels started clicking furiously on the sidewalk as she tried to walk faster. "I said I'm fine!"

"It's dark, you're in the middle of campus on a weekend when everybody gets fucked up, and although this is no fucking excuse for someone to assault you, you're wearing a short ass dress. Not to mention you're wearing heels and your legs are short so its not like you can run away from someone. I'm not letting you walk home alone." Lisa huffed.

"What are you going to even do about it if it happens." Jennie grumbled again.

"Probably get beat up by a bunch of dudes so you can escape." Lisa joked.

"That's not funny."

"That's because you're an ice queen and you have no sense of humor."

Jennie turned to glare at Lisa again but she realized Lisa had stopped walking and was standing frozen a few paces back. Jennie figured she had finally gotten rid of her, she was about to start walking again when she noticed Lisa's line of sight.

Suzy was getting out of someone's car and about to walk into her dorm. Jennie saw Lisa tried to turn around before Suzy saw her but it was too late because a half second later they both heard a shout.

"Lisa!"

Lisa sighed and started walking again, standing next to Jennie as Suzy caught up with them.

"Hey, Jennie right?" Suzy addressed Jennie first before pulling Lisa into a hug. They had never officially met but Lisa had talked about Jennie and there was no mistaking the cat eyes.

Jennie noticed how Lisa was completely stiff as Suzy hugged her.

"That's me." Jennie answered.

"I'm Suzy." She replied, sticking her hand out for Jennie to shake.

Jennie reluctantly shook it. "I know who you are." Jennie said dryly.

"Oh my God!" Suzy almost shouted, like something had just clicked. "Of course you do. You must be Lisa's new girlfriend that she was talking about the other day aren't you?"

Lisa was frozen in shock and Jennie was too perplexed at the fact Lisa even had a new girlfriend to be able to respond in order to correct Suzy. She didn't even know Lisa was dating. Not that she cared to ask but she would have heard about it when they all had lunch together by now. Chaeyoung always made Lisa spill on whatever was going on in her personal life during their lunches.

"I should have known it would be you that Lisa would end up dating after we broke up. I should have probably been jealous back then when Lisa talked about you. You guys fought too much not to like each other." Suzy said good-naturedly. "Anyway, it's good to officially meet you. Lisa, I'm having an engagement party in two weeks, bring your pretty girlfriend. Tell Rosie for me! I'll see you guys then!"

Suzy didn't even let them reply, running inside the dorm.

"Fuck." Lisa said, sitting down on the steps, holding her face in her hands. "I'm so screwed."

"Why didn't you just tell her who your real girlfriend was you idiot? Just text her and correct her." Jennie said, shaking her head at Lisa's dramatics. "And since when is your ex getting married? You guys literally just broke up. When did she have time to find a fiancé this fast?"

Lisa ignored most of Jennie's questions.

"I didn't tell her who my real girlfriend was because I don't have one."

"You broke up with your new girl already? You work fast too Manoban. No wonder you and the airhead dated." Jennie commented, still in shock Lisa's ex was getting married already.

"No, I never had a new girl. I haven't dated anyone since Suzy."

"Then why does she think you have a girlfriend?" Jennie was getting more confused by the second.

"Because I told her I had one, I didn't mean to. It slipped out."

"Why would you say that when its not true, you're just asking for trouble. What kind of idiot are you?" Jennie complained at her, shaking her head.

"I know, I know okay. I'm pathetic. Laugh all you want. Of course this would happen in front of you of all people." Lisa grumbled. "Like my pride isn't hurt enough already."

Jennie softened a bit.

"I guess we're both pathetic then." Jennie said, sitting on the steps next to Lisa.

Lisa lifted her face up a bit in confusion.

"I was humiliated by a guy I don't even like, who walks around campus telling everyone that will listen how he's the one that dumped me because I was super clingy, and your long term girlfriend dumps you and decides to get married a few months later. I think we're pretty even."

Lisa would have laughed at the ridiculousness of it all if she wasn't so embarrassed. She hated that Jennie had witnessed it but Lisa realized Jennie might just be her chance to get out of this whole trainwreck she created.

"Jennie, I need a favor. I know we don't get along but I'll do anything you ask if you do this for me. I swear."

Jennie raised her eyebrows skeptically.

"I promise. Anything you ask."

"Anything?"

Lisa nodded.

Jennie thought about it. This might be too good of an opportunity to pass up. She was already thinking of all the ways she could torture Lisa for being so annoying all the time.

"Tell me what it is first." Jennie decided on saying. She didn't trust Lisa, she wasn't about to agree just on a whim.

"I need you to dump me in front of Suzy. It'll fix everything. It's a win win. You can stick it back to Kai. He'll probably think you've been cheating on him too since you have a girlfriend already and you can get your revenge and I can get out of my stupid mishap of telling my ex-girlfriend that I'm bringing a girl to her wedding. I'll get dumped again but at least I'll feel less pathetic if Suzy thinks I've actually moved on from her. I'd rather her think I'm hung up over you than her."

"You haven't moved on yet?" Jennie asked, bristling a bit. "Why? What's so special about her?"

Lisa just shrugged. She didn't really know why she hadn't, all she knew is that her pride hurt every time she saw Suzy.

"So, will you do it?" Lisa asked hopefully.

Jennie thought about it. Lisa made good points. She really didn't see the harm in pretending to have secretly dated Lisa and then getting to dump her in front of Suzy. It might even be fun.

"You'll do whatever I want?" Jennie asked again, holding a pinky out.

Lisa grinned, grabbing on to Jennie's pinky with her own.

"I swear."

______________

"Where have you been Lis? I was worried, you were supposed to be here an hour ago." Chaeyoung scolded her when she finally got back to their shared dorm.

"Sorry, you can blame the baby brat, I ran into her on the way."

"You guys fought again." The blonde said, not leaving it up to question.

"Well that's a given. She tackled me this time." Lisa said.

"Please Lisa, bickering and shouting at each other is one thing but I cannot deal with you two getting physical with each other, that's crossing a line."

"Relax Chaengie, it was an accident. We fought over it but we ended up kind of rescuing each other from our exes too."

"You rescued each other?" Chaeyoung asked curiously, because that was so out of character for them. "How's that?"

"We ran into Kai and Suzy and I pretended to be Jennie's date." Lisa rushed out.

Chaeyoung's eyebrows shot up.

"Okay, spill. Slowly, and in more detail please." Chaeyoung said, beyond intrigued.

_______

Lisa texted Jennie where to meet her. She knew Suzy had class on this side of campus, she was an architecture major and Suzy should be coming out of the studio soon.

Lisa spotted her immediately and grabbed Jennie's elbow.

"Okay, here she comes."

Jennie smirked.

"I don't like that smile. I know I said you could dump me but don't be an asshole and humiliate me too much." Lisa said hastily, starting to regret the whole thing. She should have at least given Jennie some rules beforehand but she had been too frantic over getting out of this whole mess that she wasn't thinking clearly.

"Me? Humiliate you?" Jennie said, smiling even more deviously. "I would never."

"Your sarcasm is really reassuring me right now." Lisa said scowling.

"You should have thought about that before you told me to dump you in public." Jennie quipped.

"Jennie please, don't be an asshole."

Jennie scoffed. "Wow, the asshole is calling me an asshole? That's rich." Jennie said, raising her voice so others could hear and then winking at Lisa.

Lisa started to get exasperated, thinking they were about to get into another argument until she saw Jennie wink and realized she was starting the fight so they could break up already.

"Oh, right." Lisa mumbled under her breath and Jennie rolled her eyes at her for not catching on sooner.

"I didn't call you an asshole! You're putting words in my mouth." Lisa answered her.

She noticed Suzy had seen them out of the corner of her eye and Lisa fought the urge to smile. If Suzy kept walking and got closer she'd be able to hear Jennie dump her and Lisa could stop losing sleep over the whole thing.

She expected Jennie to escalate the argument but she did something completely unexpected instead, looping her arm around Lisa's hastily.

"Jennie, you're supposed to be dumping me right now." Lisa said under her breath in frustration.

"Change of plans. We're going to have to take a raincheck." Jennie answered in the same tone.

She looked up just as her father and an entourage of administrators and important people approached them. Kai was walking right next to her father and Jennie resisted the urge to slap them both.

"Jennie, I'm glad I caught you. There's a charity ball on Friday. Kai will be escorting you."

Lisa felt Jennie dig her nails into her arm as she heard what her father said and Lisa almost winced in pain. She watched Jennie's dad take out his wallet, holding out a black card for her.

"Buy yourself a nice dress to match his tux."

Lisa noticed the fake smile on Jennie's face and it scared her more than anything. Jennie usually looked like a harmless angry kitten but right now even Lisa didn't think she would dare cross her and that was saying a lot because pissing Jennie off was Lisa's favorite past time.

"I have a dress already, and Kai won't be taking me."

"You need an escort Jennie, and he's kindly offered."

Jennie was fuming but her father's coworkers were standing behind them chatting with each other while they waited for him to finish so she really couldn't cause a scene right now.

"I already have an escort dad. I'll see you then."

"Come on Jen, let me make it up to you." Kai said smiling at her in a way that Jennie assumed he thought was charming. Jennie fought the urge to slap him.

"Give the boy a chance. He bought me my favorite cigars and gifted them to me as an apology earlier."

Jennie almost blew up at that. The audacity of her father to think a box of cigars would be enough. The fact that Kai was cozying up to her dad instead of her irked her. As if her father was the one in this fucked up relationship. As if he was the one Kai needed to apologize to. Not that Jennie even wanted Kai's apologies but it just went to show how messed up the whole thing was. Jennie almost told them that they should just date each other, but she had to keep her calm in front of the other administrators who were still within ear shot.

"Sorry, I can't go with Kai. I have a date already. Wasn't it you who said we must honor our promises." Jennie said, baiting her father. "I can't break it off last minute after they so graciously agreed to escort me on such short notice."

Her father sighed, "Who is this boy you're taking? Is he from a good family? What does his father do?"

Jennie hadn't thought that far yet so she blurted out the first thing she could.

"Actually, it's not a boy. Lisa is taking me. Right Lis?" Jennie asked Lisa, pleading with her eyes for her to play along.

Lisa stiffened.

"Um. Right?" Lisa stuttered out.

She watched Jennie's father go red and Lisa wanted to bolt because the president of the university was currently shooting daggers at her and Lisa really didn't need to get kicked out of school.

"We have to go soon, class is starting, good to see you daddy." Jennie forced out, sounding completely fake. She let go of Lisa's arm and in the pretext of hugging her dad she whispered to him so only he could hear. She knew he was about to blow up on her about her choice to bring Lisa to the charity ball.

"Might I remind you that the Provost is behind you and she's been talking about how important inclusion is for the both of you this term to the board of trustees and if she finds out you're going to discriminate against your daughter's date just because she's a girl you might be in hot water at your next meeting. Remember, they can vote you out any time."

Jennie pulled away and her dad got even redder from the anger but he swallowed it down. There were too many people around that could mess with his career.

"Oh hello Lisa, I didn't see you there."

Lisa was shaken out of the silent battle Jennie was having with her dad by Miss Ho, the Dean of Students.

"Hi Miss Ho! How's the semester going?"

"I told you to call me Jessi, Miss Ho makes me feel old."

"You know I can't do that Miss Ho. It's disrespectful, and you're not old. You look younger than me."

"Always the flatterer." Jessi said playfully. "Never change. I need the compliments."

Lisa smiled warmly, she really liked Miss Ho. There was no one better to be the voice of the students than her. She was in charge of being the liaison between students and faculty and was also in charge of disciplining the students that broke university rules.

Lisa had gotten in trouble freshman year for sneaking alcohol into the dorm and she thought she was going to get kicked out when she was called into her office but Miss Ho had mercy on her. She joked around with Lisa for an hour and told her not to get caught again or she would actually punish her that time and that it would look bad for her if her students were drinking in the dorms. Lisa had been on her best behavior since, not wanting to disappoint her.

"How do you know Lisa?" Jennie's father asked, fully expecting Lisa to be a troublemaker. Students generally only met the Dean of Students personally if they were in some kind of trouble. He wanted a reason to stop Jennie from bringing Lisa to the charity event and he figured this was his chance.

Lisa panicked for a second, thinking Jessi might out her but she really shouldn't have, she knew better. Jessi was too cool for that.

"Lisa's really active in some of our school clubs. She's the president of a few actually. She started the dance club. It's really popular now and they raised most of our funding for last year's SNU festival through their performances. I've worked a lot with her. She's one of our loudest student voices." Jessi bragged. "And I believe the photos she takes are often featured in our newsletter and the school newspaper."

Lisa blushed a bit.

"Is that so?" Jennie's father asked, his lip curling.

Lisa only nodded, she didn't miss the look of disappointment in his face. Lisa knew he expected her to be some sort of delinquent. She was. She used to be, but she had turned her life around and he didn't need to know that.

Jennie didn't know Lisa was so involved in school. She was pretty sure Lisa kind of hated school, based on their lunch conversations. Chaeyoung was always scolding her for failing tests.

"I see. I appreciate your hard work Lisa. I suppose I'll see you at the charity ball and you can tell me more about your, achievements."

Lisa knew he was putting on a show for Miss Ho and the other administrators that might have been listening. He was the President and was obligated to encourage the students after all.

President Kim shook Lisa's hand before turning around to apologize to his entourage for the delay, making their leave.

Jessi gave Lisa a quick hug and a wink before following them. Lisa mumbled a thanks. She knew Jessi was way more aware of what had been happening than she had let on and had rescued Lisa from President Kim by bragging about her.

Kai looked like a fish out of water as the administrators walked away. He didn't follow them, rounding on Jennie instead.

"What the hell just happened Jennie?" He demanded.

Lisa found her voice finally.

"You've been dumped. Again." Lisa said as she smirked at him.

Lisa dragged Jennie away, Suzy was nowhere in sight anymore. Lisa didn't even know when she had walked away, she had been too wrapped up in trying to keep up with President Kim and Jennie's subtle battle.

"What the hell just happened Jennie?" Lisa asked, echoing Kai because she was just as confused.

Jennie had the decency to look apologetic.

"I'm sorry. I panicked okay."

"We just lost our chance, it'll be weird if we come back here tomorrow for you to dump me again." Lisa said, frustratedly.

"I didn't know my father would come and interrupt us!" Jennie argued back.

Lisa deflated a bit.

"I guess that part isn't really your fault but why would you tell the President of the university that I'm your date for one of your stuffy parties! He looked like he was going to expel me and then cut me up into pieces for good measure."

"He's not just the president you know, he's my father first." Jennie argued, not really believing her own statement. Her father's career always came first.

"Yeah well whatever he is he still wants to murder me and its all your fault. I feel like I have a target on my back now."

"Relax Lisa, you're being dramatic."

Lisa glared at Jennie and Jennie realized she really needed to tone it down so she could convince Lisa. She desperately needed Lisa's help now. There was no way she could get out of going with Kai to the event if she couldn't convince Lisa to take her instead.

"I have an idea." Jennie said tentatively.

Lisa was still annoyed that her plan had failed. They were so close.

"What's your genius master plan to get me out of taking my nonexistent girlfriend to this wedding I agreed to be a bridesmaid in." Lisa asked sarcastically.

"You're in the wedding too?" Jennie asked incredulously "You really are an idiot."

Lisa glared at her again.

"Whatever, that's besides the point."

"I'm still waiting for your plan." Lisa said dryly.

"You take a fake girlfriend to the wedding?" Jennie answered tentatively again.

Lisa threw her hands up in frustration, "I thought you were being serious!"

Lisa started walking away from Jennie but Jennie grabbed her hand.

"I am being serious. We can help each other."

Lisa actually laughed out loud that time.

"Please don't tell me you're actually proposing that we be each other's fake girlfriends right now."

Jennie nodded frantically, "That's exactly what I'm saying."

Lisa started laughing uncontrollably. Jennie gave her a glare and crossed her arms and it only made Lisa laugh harder. She gasped for breath, holding the stitch on her side.

"Alright Jen, shows over. You pranked me enough. I'll figure it out from here."

Lisa figured Jennie had only agreed to do this whole thing just to mess with her. She had probably volunteered to dump her just to get a front row seat as Lisa's plan crumbled. She didn't know why she had put her trust in Jennie of all people to get out of her rut.

Jennie leveled a look at her and Lisa faltered.

"You're not serious." Lisa said again, smile fading a bit.

Jennie didn't answer her and Lisa tried to read her face. She had never seen a serious Jennie in her life. It was always angry kitten Jennie, pouting Jennie, baby brat Jennie. This was new.

"Did you take up acting or something?" Lisa said deflecting and Jennie huffed.

"Can you for once have a serious conversation Lisa!" Jennie scolded her.

"Now you're rounding on me?!" Lisa shouted back.

Jennie put her face in her hands.

"Maybe this is a bad idea."

"Of course it's a bad idea. Who would ever even believe we were dating! We could pull off you dumping me but never actually fake it for real and if you really think I would fall for this just so you could humiliate me at Suzy's wedding you're completely delusional."

"Why would I waste my time on you?" Jennie countered back, scoffing. "Do you really think I care about you so much that I would pretend to be your girlfriend just to humiliate you in front of your ex? Who do you think you are?"

Lisa felt a little insulted at that but she had to agree Jennie had a point so all she could do is shrug. "I don't know what you rich people like to do for fun. Maybe you get your kicks out of humiliating us peasants."

Jennie rolled her eyes at Lisa again.

"Forget it. You're hopeless." Jennie said, scowling and turning to walk away from Lisa. "Close minded jerk. I've never met someone so fucking clueless in my life."

Lisa felt like somehow she had lost an argument to Jennie so she shouted to her before she left.

"I'm just saying! What's in it for you? There's no point in you doing this. Why would I believe that you're being serious about fake dating?"

Jennie rounded on her.

"Are you really that dense? I just told my father I was taking you to the biggest charity event his foundation holds just so he could stop throwing my good for nothing, cheating ex at me. What do you mean what's in it for me!"

Lisa ignored the insult.

"Fine, whatever, that might make sense but what about after that? Once you get what you want you can dump me and not hold up your end of the bargain and I'll still be screwed. The wedding is still three months away and your charity thing is this week."

Jennie blanched. Three whole months pretending to be this insufferable idiot's girlfriend was a lot.

"Exactly." Lisa said, noticing the look of disgust on Jennie's face.

Jennie thought about it though, three months with Lisa still beat three months arguing with her father over Kai. She had tolerated Kai enough over the years and once they broke up he became even more unbearable. She already knew how Kai would act if she was forced to be his date for even one single event and she couldn't bear it. He would be smug and rub it in her face and it would just give him more ammo to humiliate Jennie around campus.

Lisa was definitely the lesser of two evils.

"Listen here barbie, all the major events and stupid balls and awards ceremonies are scheduled towards the end of the year. It's fall so they're all coming up and I'm sick of my dad forcing me to take Kai as my date. You go to all those things with me, I get Kai and my father off my back, and I go to your stupid airhead ex-girlfriend's wedding with you and ill dump you right after. Think about it. It's win win."

"It doesn't seem fair to me that I would have to go to multiple of your stuffy parties just for one wedding."

"You're the one gaining the most out of this deal Lisa. Those parties might be stuffy but they're filled to the brim with people who have connections. I've met someone who was nominated for an International Photography Award, and another who actually won, isn't that like, one of your dreams?"

Lisa's eyes widened because that was the highest award anyone in the world could ever win for photography. It was incredibly competitive, considering there were millions of photographers in the world. The fact Lisa could have met one of the winners would be a huge opportunity for her.

She was also a little shocked Jennie even knew that winning an IPA was one of her biggest dreams. Lisa split her time between chasing her dancing dream and her photography dream. For some reason it worked for her, they weren't supposed to be compatible majors but for Lisa they were and she might be too much of an optimist but she really thought she could make both of them work.

"Just think about it. I'll give you until tomorrow. I'm late for class." Jennie said, not in the mood to argue anymore. She said what she needed to say and if Lisa couldn't see that this was their best shot than she really was an idiot.
