Fake Dating... or is it real?

A/N

Extra long chapter as penance for the slow update

_____________

Both Jisoo and Lisa dragged themselves out of bed at the same time the next day. They didn't even bother to bicker like they usually did when they accidentally bumped into each other, literally. They both actually said sorry to each other for once.

Their respective girlfriends snickered at their state.

"You guys going to keep having drinking contests?" Chaeyoung teased.

"I'm never drinking again." Jisoo said, still feeling queasy.

"I thought expensive alcohol wasn't supposed to give you hangovers." Lisa grumbled. "Stupid Crystal."

"It's Cristal babe, Al, not Crystal."

"Fuck Al too." Lisa said as she sat at the table and banged her forehead against it.

"Stop it, you'll hurt yourself." Jennie scolded.

"This hurts less." Lisa said, banging her head again.

Jennie just rolled her eyes at her.

Chaeyoung was soothing Jisoo, rubbing her back gently as soon as she sat down. They were still in their engagement love bubble so even though Jisoo had drank way too much, Chaeyoung was doing everything to baby her fiancée and Jisoo was milking it.

Chaeyoung was currently spoon feeding her and normally Jisoo would act like a hard ass but she was pouting at her girlfriend in between bites so she could get kisses.

Lisa noticed and looked at Jennie, pouting too. "How come you're not doing that for me?"

"Ask me to marry you and maybe I will." Jennie quipped. She realized a little belatedly what she had just said and blushed.

"Let me save up for a nice ring and give me a year to write a proposal and I will." Lisa said honestly, banging her forehead on the table again.

Jennie was really red at this point so she got up to get Lisa some water and some pain meds.

"Here, take this." Jennie said when she came back.

"Thanks baby brat. What would I do without you?"

"Have killer hangovers all the time." Jennie giggled.

"Ugh. I feel nauseous." Lisa admitted.

"Eat some soup." Jennie urged.

"I can't."

"Eat some soup you idiot, you have work later."

"Nooooo." Lisa whined.

"What are you going to tell Gong Yoo then? That you got too drunk?"

Lisa lifted her head up abruptly. "Ugh, too fast."

"Eat." Jennie said, holding up a spoonful of soup for her.

Lisa smirked.

Jennie rolled her eyes. "Shut up." She mumbled as Lisa opened her mouth so Jennie would feed her.

______________

Jennie as usual had been perfect in putting the grand opening together for Lisa. All Lisa had to do was call the numbers and book everything, the numbers that Jennie had already looked up for her. Jennie had even designed invitations for her.

They both went to Taehyung like they usually did to get dressed. He had them both in all black this time, per Jennie's request, to match the theme of the opening and as usual, he didn't disappoint.

Lisa tried not to drool when she saw Jennie try on her dress. She raked her eyes over her body as she animatedly talked to Taehyung about the cut or whatever fashion people liked to talk about when it came to clothes.

Jennie must have felt her stares because despite not looking at Lisa and continuing to talk to Tae, Lisa could see a slight blush coat Jennie's cheeks from here. She smirked to herself, glad she could have that kind of effect on Jennie just from her looks.

__________

If Lisa thought Jennie looked beautiful when she tried her dress on, she looked downright gorgeous once she was ready for the opening. Lisa lost her breath.

Jennie came out of the bathroom with a shy smile, "Is this okay?"

Lisa jumped off the bed. Her outfit was simpler. She had opted for a loose fitting but still feminine suit. She wanted something comfortable considering she was going to have to roam around the room buttering up her guests.

She walked right up to Jennie and tried to catch her breath.

"I want to make out with you so bad right now but I don't want to ruin your makeup." Lisa said raking her eyes over her again. "Are you kidding baby brat? Is this okay? Is this okay! You're downright gorgeous. Please don't leave my side the whole night because I really need to show you off. I can't believe I get to tell everyone you're mine."

Jennie blushed. "Stop it Lili." She said, shoving her lightly. Despite that Jennie still puckered her lips up, asking for a kiss and Lisa gave her a light peck so she wouldn't smear Jennie's lipstick.

"You ready?" Lisa asked, holding her arm out for Jennie to take.

Jennie raised an eyebrow, "Are you?"

"Fair point." Lisa said sheepishly. If she was honest, she had to admit she was incredibly nervous.

"You'll do great Lisa." Jennie said honestly. "The hard part is over."

"I think facing a few missiles is way easier than facing a bunch of snobby rich people." Lisa said offhandedly.

Jennie smacked her. She still wasn't over the missile incident.

"Sorry baby."

Jennie rolled her eyes. "Don't worry Lis, they won't all be snobby, I made sure of it."

Lisa nodded gratefully, knowing Jennie had made sure the guest list was made up of Gong Yoos and Auntie Kims. Still, there was the obligatory fellowship committee and President Kim and company that they were forced to invite too and those were the ones Lisa was dreading the most.

They met the other girls in the living room and Lisa had to admit they were both dressed beautifully too. She'd never admit to Jisoo how good she looked though.

"Ready Limario?" Jisoo asked as soon as they were out.

Lisa nodded nervously. Chaeyoung walked up to her and gave her a hug which Lisa accepted gratefully.

"You did so good Lis."

"You haven't even seen it yet." Lisa said chuckling, hugging her back.

"I don't have to. I've known you all my life. I know you did great."

They drove to the studio, this time Jisoo drove them because Lisa was too nervous to drive. Jennie held her hand the whole time, rubbing circles into it reassuringly and giving her the occasional cheek kiss to calm her down which Lisa very much appreciated.

They were immediately greeted by Kai near the door who low whistled. "Damn best friend, you rock a suit better than I do."

"We've always known that." Lisa joked. "What ridiculously expensive thing are you wearing? Gucci?"

"No actually, this was like, a hundred dollars." Kai said, whispering the last part conspiratorially. "Who knew nice clothes were this cheap!"

Lisa looked at him perplexed.

"I went to your guy. Taehyung, he hooked me up." He said, grabbing the lapels proudly. "How do I look?" He said, doing a ridiculous spin.

"Still boujee." Lisa deadpanned.

Kai frowned. "Horrible best friend."

"I'm not your best friend." Lisa singsonged.

Jennie clung to Lisa's arm as she watched. She was still not used to their banter. She didn't hate Kai as much anymore but it was still weird seeing them together.

"Oh, here." Kai said, grabbing two flutes of champagne and handing it to the both of them, then grabbing two more and handing them to Jisoo and Chaeyoung. "Gotta be a good host."

"Thanks." Lisa said accepting it gratefully. "So how's the atmosphere?"

Kai grinned, "I think you should go have a look for yourself." He finished winking before he greeted the next guests.

Chaeyoung dragged Jisoo in giddily, too excited to see everything, leaving the other two behind.

Lisa braced herself to walk into the studio and almost gasped at the amount of people. Most of them were actually roaming around looking at her photographs or the photobooks they strategically placed around the room instead of mingling and drinking with each other like Lisa expected.

"Wow Lili. They're beautiful." Jennie said as she took in the photographs she could see from her spot. There were black pillars and black dividers set up to make the place look more aesthetic, with photographs hanging from them so a lot of Lisa's work was hidden from view unless you walked down the makeshift aisles.

Jennie was itching to go see them all but she stayed by Lisa's side, determined to be the perfect date like Lisa had been for her countless times.

Lisa was approached almost immediately. Some man from the fellowship board walked up to congratulate Lisa and ask her questions and Jennie was proud that Lisa had handled him gracefully despite his haughty demeanor. She was proud to be Lisa's date. This was her girlfriend's beautiful work that everyone was here to see and Jennie was the one that got to be by her side.

They made the rounds, talking to all the important people, or at least the people that had given Lisa the fellowship. Jennie always smiled widely when Lisa introduced her as her date.

"Beautiful pictures and a beautiful girl on your arm, you have it all Miss Manoban," said a teasing voice.

"Auntie Kim!" Jennie giggled.

"My favorite niece." Mrs. Kim said fondly, hugging Jennie.

"Who knew you'd have a whole studio to yourself even after you threw a keg party in the dorms." Said another teasing voice. "I'm glad I didn't kick you out or I would have missed all of this."

Lisa grinned. "You made it." She said to Jessi.

"Wouldn't miss this for the world." Jessi said, hugging Lisa too. "Free booze." She said, indicating the champagne flute.

Lisa laughed out loud. "You don't even like champagne, I'm pretty sure you only busted my party so you could take the kegs for yourself."

Jessi shrugged. "Sue me." She said winking and Lisa giggled even harder.

"Seriously Lisa, that Santos photograph, and the one of the aftermath of the missiles. Chills." Mrs. Kim said honestly.

"Thank you Mrs. Kim."

"I'm buying both prints, just so you know. Also, I think you need to hike up the prices. You went too low if you ask me." She said conspiratorially.

"Oh, I couldn't." Lisa said sheepishly.

"Seriously Lisa. People should be paying upwards of a couple thousand for those. These people have money, take advantage of it." Jessi added in a whisper, nodding along with Mrs. Kim. "Just make sure you give me a discount because I'm not loaded like the rest of them." She finished with a giggle, to which Mrs. Kim joined in.

Jennie rolled her eyes at them and laughed, sure they were tipsy already.

Lisa looked on a little embarrassed but nodded anyway. "I'll think about it."

"I've taught you nothing." Jessi said in faux disappointment and Lisa shrugged.

"Now, may I borrow my niece for a moment. I'm sure she's supposed to be glued to your side all night but I can tell she's itching to see her girlfriend's life's work." Mrs. Kim said.

"Oh its okay, I can see it later." Jennie said, grabbing onto Lisa's arm again.

Lisa gave Jennie a tender kiss on the cheek before handing her over. "It's okay baby. I want your opinion. I just really needed you in the beginning because I was so nervous. I can manage now for a bit."

"Are you sure?" Jennie asked worriedly.

"Positive. Go, check them out." Lisa said smiling, then her smile dropped a bit. "Uh, but please, keep an open mind? Remember I'm here now."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Jennie said narrowing her eyes suspiciously.

"Just remember I'm back, safe and sound." Lisa said nervously.

"Manoban what did you do?"

"Nothing, just, there might be some stories that are going to make you want to strangle me but just remember you love me?" Lisa continued anxiously.

Jennie glared harder. "How many times did you almost die?"

"Once or twice." Lisa said noncommittally.

"I'm going to count Manoban, and you're going to make it up to me for every single one." Jennie said pointing a finger at her angrily before leaving with her aunt to look at the photographs. Jennie really needed to see them now to see how reckless her idiot girlfriend had been.

"Uh oh. She's about to read the stories?" Jisoo said in amusement, walking up to Lisa.

"Yeah." Lisa said nervously. "Thanks for helping with those by the way, I'm an awful writer and I couldn't ask Rosie or Jennie for help or they would flip."

It had been hard, sneaking around as Jisoo helped her edit her writing. They were caught multiple times and Jennie always thought they were up to something sketchy.

"No biggie. I'm glad you asked. If you had been left to your own devices you would have given them a heart attack with the way you were writing." Jisoo said snickering.

"I was just reporting the facts!" Lisa said indignantly.

"You can't report and I quote—that you fell off of the top of the cliff because the force of the bombs was so big it shook the village and the only reason you didn't die was because a man grabbed your arm as you were sliding down, or the fact that it took three of them to drag you back up and they dislocated your shoulder in the process." Jisoo said rolling her eyes. That had even made Jisoo want to smack Lisa.

"Well it was true!"

"Also unnecessary. We all know how clumsy you are." Jisoo countered. "I bet you just tripped."

Lisa shrugged. "Because of the bombs."

"You shouldn't have been standing on the ledge."

"I needed to get close for the shot!"

"You're hopeless." Jisoo said rolling her eyes. "Anyway, my chipmunk looks like she's out of hors' d' oeuvres, I need to refill her plate."

With that Jisoo left, stopped a waiter, stole the entire tray from him and walked to Chaeyoung who clapped excitedly when she saw what Jisoo was carrying. Lisa would have rolled her eyes at them but they were cute.

Jisoo was always attentive to her best friend, making sure to do the little things—namely, feeding her—just to make her happy. Even if she did look ridiculous wearing a cocktail gown and holding an entire tray of hors' d' oeuvres as she crossed the room just for her despite not being one of the servers.

"Impressive."

Lisa's eyes widened in shock as she recognized the voice. She whipped around so fast she made herself dizzy.

"Suzy?" Lisa asked perplexed, ready to bolt. She looked around for Jennie nervously, taking a step back away from Suzy.

Suzy giggled as she saw the panic in Lisa's eyes. "Don't worry, your girlfriend was the one who invited me."

"She did?" Lisa asked, taking another step back to create more distance, just in case. "I find that a little hard to believe. No offense."

"I did." Jennie said, sidling up to Lisa and looping her arm around Lisa's left arm. She may be trying to make amends with Lisa over Suzy, but she was still possessive. She needed Suzy to know Lisa was hers.

"Uh—why?" Lisa asked Jennie incredulously. Then turned to Suzy, "not that I don't want you here." Then she panicked after what she said and looked to Jennie. "Not that I need her here!"

"Relax Lili." Jennie said giggling, getting up on her tiptoes to give her a peck on the lips. "She's been in your life for years, and she kept up with you while you were away when I couldn't. I know she's one of your best friends, she should be here to support you."

Jennie turned to Suzy and narrowed her eyes, glaring at her. "But if you ever try to kiss my woman again—" Jennie let the sentence hang in the air threateningly before smiling sweetly. "Anyway, I'll let you two talk."

Jennie gave Lisa another light kiss on the lips. "I'll be watching." She warned them. "Good to see you Suzy." Then she walked away, head held high, heels clicking on the floor.

Lisa was left gaping.

Suzy couldn't help but laugh. "She's perfect for you. I've never seen anyone put you in your place like she does."

"She is." Lisa agreed incredulously, but still unsure as to what the hell had just happened.

"I can't say I wasn't afraid when I got the invitation from her. I brought pepper spray just in case." Suzy said, only half joking.

"Oh, that wouldn't have stopped her." Lisa said seriously. "She's worse than Rosie because unlike our best friend, Jennie wouldn't care if she was caught murdering someone."

Suzy laughed. "You still think Rosie murdered Vanessa?"

"I know she did." Lisa said darkly, looking across the room to her best friend who was currently laughing and entertaining half the room while Jisoo looked at her fondly. "I mean look at her, she could raise an army."

Suzy laughed again.

Jennie was discreetly watching them out of the corner of her eye. She was so focused she didn't even notice Kai walk up to her.

"Mind telling me why you invited your girlfriend's ex to this?" Kai asked curiously.

Jennie jumped in shock, not expecting someone to be speaking so close to her. She smacked him once the panic died down. "Idiot! You scared me!"

"Ow!" Kai said. "Why are you all so strong?"

"We're not, you're just a baby." Jennie taunted.

"Anyway, why is Suzy here?" Kai asked again, ignoring the comment.

Jennie shrugged.

Kai narrowed her eyes at her. "I know you Jennie, you've never been jealous over me because you weren't into me but you're definitely the jealous type, especially with Lisa. Why is Suzy here and still breathing?"

"Just because I sort of forgave you doesn't make us friends. I still hate you."

Kai ignored her, it had worked with Lisa. He was relentless and eventually Lisa let him in so he figured he'd try it with the rest of them too. "Why is Suzy talking to my best friend and why aren't you clawing her eyes out right now?"

"I don't know Kai, keep your friends close and your enemies closer!" Jennie said in annoyance.

"I knew it." Kai smirked. "I knew there was no way you'd just invite her like that and not have some ulterior motive. I thought it was so you could murder her so I had security ready but this is so much better." Kai said eagerly. "Don't worry, I'll help keep an eye out on them. Any funny business and I'll send you the signal."

"I don't need your help." Jennie grumbled.

"I'll take the left side, you take the right." Kai said, ignoring her again, excited and feeling like he was going on some spy mission.

He not so subtly crossed the room, watching Lisa and Suzy the entire time and Jennie rolled her eyes at him.

"Idiot." Jennie said under her breath as she watched him stare the pair down.

"Anyway, my husband is on his way, if that's okay?" Suzy asked Lisa.

"Of course, the more the merrier." Lisa said smiling.

Almost as if on cue, Joohyuk walked in.

"Hey babe."

"Hi!" Suzy said brightly. "You remember Lisa."

"Of course." He answered, holding a hand out for Lisa to shake. "I have to say, I haven't seen much considering I literally just walked in but just from the couple photographs I can see, wow. They're beautiful. I just wish we were rich enough to afford one." He joked.

"Pick one out," Lisa said. "Late wedding gift."

"Oh we couldn't." He said honestly.

"Of course you could. Suzy's my oldest friend besides Rosie. Go ahead and take a look around." Lisa offered.

They excused themselves and Lisa breathed a sigh of relief, glad Suzy kept her space and her husband came so she wouldn't have to make Jennie feel insecure again.

She was about to go find her when she was interrupted yet again, this time by the last person she ever wanted to talk to.

"Lisa Manoban. As expected, you did well."

Lisa hadn't drank at all out of her champagne but she took a massive gulp before speaking.

"President Kim, what an honor." Lisa said, the sarcastic undertone evident in her voice.

"As it should be for a woman of your, stature." He said mockingly.

Lisa clenched her jaw. "So nice of the elite to join my humble project."

"Yes, I suppose it is. I hope you've thanked my daughter for getting you all of this." President Kim said with a sneer, brandishing the room with his hands.

"I've thanked her plenty for connecting me to Gong Yoo." Lisa said in a clipped tone.

"How ungrateful." President Kim said, as he took a sip from his champagne and then smirked.

"Excuse me President Kim? How exactly is that ungrateful?" Lisa said with a little bite, trying to keep her anger in check.

"I just mean, my daughter has sacrificed herself for you for an entire year just so you could have all of this and that's all you thanked her for? A connection? At least treat her to dinner for all of her hard work while you went off gallivanting around the world."

Lisa figured he was baiting her so she kept quiet, taking another sip of her champagne.

"Oh, don't tell me you don't know?" President Kim mocked.

Lisa didn't like were this was going so she continued keeping her mouth shut. She wished she could just leave him standing there but this was too important and there were too many people around that could break her career if she caused a scene. She had just started after all.

"You only have all of this because she gave up everything for you. She even gave up you." President Kim smirked. "Anyway, I suppose that's a discussion between you and her. I thought your relationship was stronger than that to be honest. Considering you still took her back. I guess there's no honesty between your types of couples." He finished with another sneer.

"Mr. Kim." Kai interrupted them, his voice a little angrier than usual.

Kai was livid. He had noticed Jennie relax as soon as Suzy walked away from Lisa. She was too preoccupied looking at Lisa's work after that to notice her father had approached Lisa. Kai gave him a minute, hoping he was just going to be his haughty self but the look on Lisa's face told him whatever he was saying to her was crossing a line past fake snobby pleasantries. Lisa had looked angrier by the second and Kai felt he owed it to them to intervene.

"Oh Kai, you're here. Are you here to win my daughter back, I'm sure you can, you look dapper." President Kim noted, finding yet another way to mock Lisa.

Lisa almost threw the champagne in his face but Kai gave her a look that told her to calm down and for once, Lisa let him handle it.

"No actually. I work for Lisa. She's fantastic isn't she? She's been teaching me so much. Also, I couldn't possibly try to win Jennie back. I'm gay. Didn't my mother tell you? My boyfriend will be here soon, I hope you'll meet him. He attends your school actually. I believe he said you wrote him a personal letter of recommendation for his masters. He's planning on writing about Homophobia in South Korea as his thesis, I'm sure he'll credit you handsomely in his paper."

President Kim started choking on his champagne, the tears welling in his eyes as he gasped for air and Kai smirked, patting his back.

"Come on Mr. Kim, lets get you some water." Kai said, leading him away from Lisa, winking at her before leaving.

Lisa tried not to laugh. "Tell Bammy he might have some competition now." Lisa whispered to Kai as he walked past her. She rolled her eyes at him as he fist bumped the air in excitement.

She shook her head. She probably shouldn't have said anything because now she wasn't going to hear the end of it from him.

Her amusement was short lived though as she thought back to what President Kim had said.

She tried looking for Jennie again, hoping to ask her personally. Lisa wasn't an idiot, she didn't trust Jennie's father, but no matter how hard she tried to get to her she kept getting interrupted by people and she wasn't able to talk to her.

Lisa was eventually able to approach Jennie near the end of the night. She found her teary eyed in front of one of the displays and any question on Lisa's tongue died in her throat.

"Lili!" Jennie said pouting as soon as she saw Lisa, hugging her desperately as soon as Lisa got close enough.

"Baby brat? What's wrong?" Lisa asked in worry.

"You didn't tell me you were in the hospital for weeks!"

Lisa looked down at the photo she was looking at. Somalia, where she had almost starved trying to give up her rations to the starving children and ended up getting a high grade fever. She had almost ended up in a coma. That makeshift hospital was where she had met Aden.

"Oh, that." Lisa said nervously.

She was glad she had recruited Jisoo's help writing the stories because if Jennie was almost crying over her being in the hospital, she couldn't imagine how she would react when she found out Lisa had been hours away from falling into a coma. Lisa had planned to include that but Jisoo smacked her and told her to focus on the children.

"Yes that!" Jennie said clutching onto her harder.

"I'm okay baby. I'm back remember?"

Jennie tried not to let the tears fall so she wouldn't ruin her make up but it was hard.

"You're done with those trips right?" Jennie asked seriously, anxiously. "One was enough? You won't put yourself in danger anymore?"

"Yes baby, one was enough." Lisa said honestly. As much as she'd love to do it again, she couldn't bear to leave Jennie or Rosie, or Jisoo for that matter ever again. Just for them to worry about her.

"You better." Jennie sniffled, still trying to keep the tears at bay.

They were getting warm looks from the patrons. Most of them in the room now knew Jennie was Lisa's date and they'd all read the gruesome stories that accompanied the haunting pictures.

Everyone except President Kim and a few others who were scowling at them from across the room were watching the scene with soft smiles, knowing Jennie was probably freaking out about the danger Lisa had put herself in. Lisa resisted the urge to stick her tongue out at President Kim's entourage.

Gong Yoo finally clinked his glass, standing on the makeshift stage and everyone looked to the where he was standing.

"Thank you for coming everyone, I'd love to take all the credit for this since technically I paid for it all but I can't really." There were a few scattered laughs.

"I have two people to thank today for the existence of these beautiful photographs and these tremendous stories. First, Miss Jennie Kim." Gong Yoo used a hand to indicate where Jennie was standing.

Jennie waved shyly before tucking herself into Lisa again, hiding from view. Lisa found her adorable considering Jennie could command a room easily yet she was suddenly shy. Lisa didn't get it but she wasn't complaining considering she hardly got to see this side of Jennie in public.

Jennie was usually good at these things, but this was Lisa's career, Lisa's beautiful pictures and Jennie felt like she had no right to take credit for any of it so she hid herself away.

"Thank you for bringing this photography genius to my attention. I have a feeling my own studio will be filled with even more brilliant submissions after this, after getting the opportunity to sponsor someone I would dare call a prodigy."

Lisa was already blushing and Jennie squeezed her arm proudly.

"Secondly and most importantly of course, Lisa. Phenomenal work. I think the entire room can agree."

There were claps all across the room but no one clapped harder for her than Jennie and Chaeyoung. Jisoo gave Lisa a proud thumbs up from across the room.

"I actually have some news for you." Gong Yoo continued.

Lisa raised her eyebrows curiously.

"We were going to miss the IPA deadline for this year while you were away. By the time you came back and set all of this up we would have had to wait until next year so I took the liberty of submitting one of your unedited works, I snagged it from your instagram no less."

There were chuckles around the room.

Lisa furrowed her brows.

"Turns out, despite it being unedited, raw, and taken from what I assume was your crappy camera, the photograph was so good you still won. 1st place, in the Editorial Press, Contemporary Issues category."

There was massive applause now and Lisa froze.

Lisa could hear Chaeyoung squealing from the other side of the room and Jessi shouting that's my girl from the other corner.

"Go Lili!" Jennie said excitedly, shoving her towards the makeshift stage as she bounced up and down and clapped for her girlfriend. Jennie couldn't help it now, the tears actually fell. Jennie ran straight to Jisoo and Chaeyoung and hugged them, all of them feeling like they had somehow won too because they were so proud of their Lisa.

"They sent this to me." Gong Yoo handed Lisa the award. "I have no doubt this year you'll get photographer of the year with that photobook."

Lisa didn't know what to say, she looked down at her name on the award. Lisa Manoban. It had always been her dream to get an award like this. She found Jennie in the crowd who kept clapping and jumping up and down excitedly standing next to her friends. Then she looked at Rosie who was crying and being held by Jisoo.

"Am I supposed to say something?" Lisa whispered to Gong Yoo who laughed, as did the rest of the room because they heard her through the mic despite her whispers. Lisa didn't know, it wasn't like this was some kind of awards ceremony, it was just her studio opening.

Gong Yoo handed Lisa the mic, who grabbed it a little shakily because she wasn't good at these things.

"Um—To be honest I really don't know what to say other than thank you? Gong Yoo, thank you so much for believing in me enough to sponsor me." Lisa found President Kim after saying that and almost smirked, remembering his check, the one he gave her to send her away, not because he thought she would ever get here, not because he believed in her but because he thought she wasn't good enough for Jennie.

"Also to the fellowship committee for choosing me and allowing me to go on this trip." Lisa said, throwing in the obligatory line. They really didn't do much but she kind of had to thank them.

Lisa cleared her throat. "Jisoo, Rosie, those calls were my rock. I don't think I would have gotten through that trip without you guys. I love you guys so much."

Lisa had to laugh because Chaeyoung just started bawling harder. You'd think Lisa had won a grammy by her reaction but that's why Lisa loved her so much.

Jennie swallowed hard when she heard that bit but she was still so proud of Lisa that she swallowed the guilt down.

"Jennie. God Jennie, none of this would have happened without you. I owe you the most. I never thought it would be possible that I could achieve my dream until you helped make it happen. You believed in me even when you hated me. You really were faking everything all this time weren't you, even that." Lisa joked and watched as Jennie laughed tearily. "I love you baby. So so much. You make my dreams come true, and not just this one." Lisa finished.

Jennie cried harder, feeling overwhelmed because of the undertones of Lisa's speech, feeling as if Lisa was saying she was Lisa's dream too.

"Um—yeah. Anyway that's it. Enjoy the champagne. It's free." Lisa said hastily, jumping off the stage to more laughter.

Lisa went straight to Jennie, Chaeyoung, and Jisoo. They all gave her the tightest group hug as soon as she was near.

"We're so proud of you Lis." Chaeyoung said sniffling. "I told you!"

"If you ever repeat this outside of today I'll kill you Limario, but I'm proud to be your best friend."

Jennie didn't say anything, she kissed Lisa fiercely instead, right in front of everyone.

Lisa let her, despite being at a stuffy party with benefactors, albeit most of them were a lot more lax than Jennie's father, it was still a little inappropriate for her to be making out with her girlfriend right in front of them.

__________

"We have to celebrate!" Jisoo shouted as soon as they got home. "I'll grab my next best wine." She said as she ran down to the shelter to grab some bottles.

"I have to get out of this dress first." Chaeyoung said.

"Me too." Jennie agreed.

"Me three." Lisa added.

"You're not even wearing a dress Lisa," Chaeyoung giggled as she ran up the stairs.

"I'd still prefer sweats!" Lisa shouted after her.

"Jennie?" Lisa said as soon as she finished putting on her sweats. They were in Lisa's room changing and Jennie had needed help with her zipper.

"Hmm?" Jennie said happily. She was still on a high from Lisa's win. They all were. They were probably happier for Lisa than Lisa was.

"Your father said something earlier." Lisa started tentatively.

Jennie's look turned dark, "Did he mess with you again?"

"He just said you sacrificed your year for me." Lisa continued. "He said you gave me up so I could have everything I have now."

Jennie's eyes widened. She started taking off her heels, avoiding Lisa's eyes which to Lisa meant Jennie was hiding something.

"Jennie? Does he know that big secret you won't tell me about? Does he know why you broke up with me?"

Jennie shrugged, "I have to go get some clothes from my room real quick."

Jennie almost sprinted out of Lisa's room in her haste.

"Jennie!" Lisa shouted after her. "Why won't you just tell me?! Even your father knows why you broke up with me! You hate him!" Lisa said in frustration. "Why don't you just trust me?"

Lisa huffed as Jennie closed her room door to change.

Jisoo had walked up the stairs right at that moment just in time to hear what Lisa had just shouted.

"Here. You and chipmunk start on this. I'll go get changed." Jisoo said hastily. "Actually, why don't you guys go down to the bunker? That way we don't have to keep going up and down to get bottles?"

"Okay." Lisa grumbled, grabbing the bottle Jisoo handed her.

Lisa waited for Rosie to come down the stairs and they made their way to the shelter, settling themselves down on the big couch.

"I'm so proud of you Lisa. I knew you could do it." Rosie said, eyes sparkling. She had to take deep breaths or she'd probably cry again.

"If you would have told me this would happen that time I tried to run off to Thailand I would have slapped you." Lisa giggled as she poured them both a glass.

"I always knew you had so much potential Lisa, you're the only one that didn't see it."

Lisa shrugged. "I thought I was holding you back."

Rosie rolled her eyes and shook her head. "You're literally the only reason I decided to chase my dream. How could that be holding me back?"

Lisa looked at Rosie in confusion.

"Lisa the talent show? You made me enter remember? You bugged me for two solid months until you annoyed me enough that I did."

"Oh, you deserved to enter, you deserved that win." Lisa shrugged. "You were better than the entire school."

"I was too shy back then Lis, I didn't think I was good enough. It gave me that boost of confidence I needed to keep going though. That wasn't the only time. You were always there to encourage me. You bought me my first guitar even though it was shitty and always out of tune and the strings kept snapping." Chaeyoung giggled.

"It was a shitty guitar wasn't it?" Lisa laughed.

"It was all you could afford and it's still my favorite one. I still have it. It's hanging in our bedroom and Jisoo almost threw it away one time and it was almost our first fight." Chaeyoung laughed. "Granted, she didn't realize what that guitar meant to me. She apologized right after."

"You should have let her throw it away." Lisa joked. "She'd probably buy you a limited edition Martin acoustic to say sorry."

"It still wouldn't be worth as much as your shitty guitar gift." Chaeyoung joked. "I can't believe you tried to leave me you jerk. Even after my parents adopted you so you wouldn't have to leave in the first place."

Lisa smiled sheepishly. "I cared about how well you did more than how I would do." Lisa shrugged. "I thought I was doing what was best for you."

"And that's why you're my best friend." Chaeyoung said, clinking their glasses together. "Even though your thinking is very backwards."

They both laughed at that and took a sip of their wine.

"They're taking a little too long aren't they?" Lisa said, looking up the stairs.

"Knowing Jisoo, she probably saw her switch on the bedside table and is playing a quick game before coming down." Chaeyoung giggled.

"She's obsessed with those games."

"She is."

"It doesn't bother you? Doesn't it take away from your time together?" Lisa asked.

"Not at all. I love when she's happy and those stupid games make her happy. Besides, even when she's mindlessly playing she's incredibly attentive to me. She may look like she's not paying attention when I'm talking but if I ask her to repeat what I say she can say it verbatim. Usually when she plays her games I play my guitar and sing and we can spend time doing our own thing together. It just works. You and Jennie do it too."

"We do?"

"Do you not remember your weekend down here? I seem to recall at one point Jennie studying and you dancing your heart out."

Lisa smiled sheepishly, "Yeah, I guess you're right."

"I'm always right." Chaeyoung said teasingly.

Lisa rolled her eyes but she had to admit she was kind of right. "Okay but seriously they're taking too long, at least Jennie is. I'm gonna go check on them."

Chaeyoung made a wavy motion towards Lisa with her hand as she sipped her wine and propped her feet up on the coffee table. She started scrolling through her phone for music to play through the speaker.

Lisa walked up the steps and towards Jennie's room. She heard voices and stopped. She was about to go down the stairs again because she figured they were just doing some cousin thing but she caught her name and it made her pause.

"Why can't you just tell Limario the truth already Jendeukie?! That you got blackmailed by your father? I know she would understand. I'm not as close with her as Rosie is obviously but I still know Lisa, she's not irrational, and she forgives things a little too easily anyway, she's as bad as Rosie over that. You didn't really do anything wrong Jendeuk, just tell her."

"I can't Chu. It's not that simple."

"How is it not that simple?! My asshole of an uncle threatened you and made you break up with her. Lisa's been understanding so far but how long do you think it'll last? How long till she starts thinking you don't love her again or that you don't trust her? You heard her earlier, I know you did!"

"It won't come to that. I'll prove myself to her, I'll make sure she always knows I love her and that there's no reason for her to think I don't trust her. I'll do anything to make sure of it."

"To what extent Jendeukie? Till you lose yourself trying to prove yourself to her, feeling guilty for something you weren't even the cause of?"

"Hey Lis, what are you—" Chaeyoung said as she walked up next to a frozen Lisa. She stopped talking as she heard the voices too. "Lisa, come on."

"Did you know about this?" Lisa asked her incredulously. "Did you know he blackmailed her? How?!" Lisa almost shouted. "How did he do it?"

"You have to ask her Lis, come on." Chaeyoung tried to drag Lisa down but she wouldn't budge. Lisa started walking towards Jennie's room instead, ready to confront her.

"It was my fault Jisoo! I was the cause of it! I made that choice for her!" Jennie pleaded. "The least I owe her is to do my best to make sure she knows I love her, even if I lose myself."

"So what! She would have probably made the same choice for you! Just talk to her!" Jisoo said exasperatedly. "Why are you punishing yourself?! And her!"

Jennie finally lost it. She finally let out her deepest secret, the reason she hadn't told Lisa why she had broken up with her in the first place. Why she hadn't owned up to the fact her father had blackmailed her as soon as Lisa came back like she had always intended.

"Because I lost kids Jisoo! Because I had to push their surgeries back when she was stuck in Yemen and I was too late to help them!" Jennie cried. "And she's not stupid, contrary to what she always says. She'll know it was because I chose her instead!"

"You lost kids?" Jisoo asked.

"I told you! I thought her dream was important. I didn't want her to resent me by staying and she was too fucking talented to not go anyway! Clearly! We just saw how good she is. I thought I could do it. I thought I could do it all. I thought I could juggle school and my charity and that stupid gala he wanted me to put on for him but then he had me start running his non profit too and I just couldn't.

I failed.

Then she was stuck in Yemen. She could have died. I put her first. I did everything he wanted so they would get her out!

How can I tell her that on top of me breaking us up for her dream, without me asking her if that's even what she wanted, even though I thought it was right—how can I tell her that I gave up my dream for hers and that a kid died because I couldn't get to him fast enough?"

"What?" Lisa asked, finally entering Jennie's room.

Jennie turned around abruptly. "How long have you been standing there?" Jennie asked in a panic, on the verge of tears already.

"What did you just say?" Lisa asked, her throat closing up. "Did you—did you trade a kid's life for me? For my stupid dream?" Lisa asked again, her voice breaking.

"No, no it wasn't like that Lis." Jennie said in a choked up voice, letting the tears fall because this was exactly what she had been dreading. She knew Lisa would just blame herself and assume that her dream was silly and that it ended up costing a kids life.

"Kim Jisoo." Chaeyoung said from the doorway. Jisoo nodded and followed her out of the room, letting their friends talk it out.

"Someone died because of me? A literal child died because of me?! Because I went on that trip?" Lisa asked brokenly, feeling like she couldn't breathe now.

"No Lisa! It was mine and my father's fault. He blackmailed me, he said if I didn't break up with you he would pull your fellowship, and that if I talked to you even once he still could and I didn't want to leave you stranded. That's why I stayed away. That's why I broke up with you in the first place." Jennie pleaded. "It was never your fault. It was mine, and his."

"Why didn't you just tell me Jennie! Why didn't you trust me! You could have just told me this was happening!" Lisa said in frustration, almost in anger because of that life lost that she couldn't help but raise her voice. "How could you not tell me!"

"BECAUSE YOU WOULD HAVE STAYED LISA!" Jennie shouted too. "You would have stayed." She whispered as she crumpled into herself. "And it would have been all my fault."

"Yes I would have stayed." Lisa said brokenly.

"You would have missed out on everything you have now. You have a studio, a beautiful studio. You won your IPA. You helped those kids and got the experience of a lifetime. You got everything you ever dreamed of and more. You wouldn't have all of that. You wouldn't have lived out your dream so I made a choice."

"That wasn't your choice to make Jennie! We should have made it together."

"So you're telling me if I had told you, and told you to go and not talk to me for a year while I did my father's bidding and then come back to me you would have gone?"

Lisa swallowed hard, unable to answer.

"You would have stayed Lisa. It would have been your choice, not mine. We wouldn't have made it together because I wanted you to go. Because I wanted you to be great like I already knew you were and I wanted for the world to know it too and look at what you did. Look at all you achieved. So I took a risk. I took a risk of losing you and you hating me for it so you could live your dream out and I prayed every night that you would come back to me and we could fix it."

"A kid died Jennie, because of me!" Lisa shouted again.

"This! This is why I didn't tell you. This is what I feared. You resent me! Honestly that's fine because what's worse is that you resent yourself, and now you regret living out what you always wanted to do and you know why it happened? Because of me, because I brought you around my father. Just when I thought he was done doing damage. I thought I had him under control and he still broke you. Look at you, look in the mirror. I can see the guilt and I can't take it!" Jennie cried.

"This is all my fault Lisa. I made a choice I thought I could live with! You saved all of those kids. You did! You'll make them famous and they'll get everything they ever needed. They'll get funding. You saved Aden and Omar and Santos. I'm the one who messed up. I'm the one who couldn't keep up and pushed a surgery back a month and my kid died.

So stop! Please fucking stop. If you want to break up with me, if you're done with me for my stupidity then let me go but please, I can't take you hating the fact you achieved your dream. You worked hard for this and the only reason its all fucked up is because of me and my piece of shit father! You would have done all of this on your own without guilt if you had never dated me."

Jennie rushed out of the room crying. She tried running out of the front door of the house but she was stopped, a hand gently grabbing her arm and pulling her back.

"Hey, hey sshh shhh. Its okay wifey." Chaeyoung said, pulling Jennie into her chest as Jennie continued sobbing. "Come on, come with me."

Chaeyoung led her down to the bomb shelter gently. Jennie could barely see, she was crying so hard.

She curled into Chaeyoung as soon as they sat on the couch and Chaeyoung started comforting her.

"She h-h-hates me." Jennie said as she sobbed. "She hates herself now because of me."

"No she doesn't Jennie. I know Lisa, you do too. Clearly, considering you took the fall and kept this from her just so she wouldn't feel guilty. She's just processing. She's Lisa, she's a little dense with feelings."

"I did this to her. I ruined her trip, her dream. She resents everything now. She resents going, I know she does and she shouldn't because she deserved to go!"

"Your father did this to her, to the both of you." Chaeyoung said, making Jennie lay on her lap as she continued stroking her hair.

"I hate him." Jennie said with such anger even Chaeyoung could feel it. "Every time we're happy he just has to come and ruin it. Why can't he just let us be happy?"

"I don't know Jennie. I really don't know."

"What if we're really done now Rosie? What if she doesn't take me back? I just got her back." Jennie cried again, her sobs taking over more fully at the thought of losing Lisa again.

"I don't think that's going to happen Jennie. She loves you too much. She just got you back too and now she knows you didn't break up with her because you didn't love her. I promise, she'll come around."

"Still. Its my fault, now she's going to blame herself for him dying for the rest of her life, I know it."

Chaeyoung swallowed hard because Jennie was definitely right about that. "So will you."

"I do. I think about it every day."

"It's neither of your fault's though. Its your father. You did the best you could. You both had the best intentions, unlike him, this is on him. Who knows, maybe he would have passed anyway? Even if you had gotten him the surgery."

"I could hardly face his mother." Jennie sniffled.

"Does she blame you?"

"No."

"What happened Jennie, why did you have to push it back?"

"I had it all lined up but his surgeon dropped at the last second. He had to. He had another terminal patient that went critical and he no longer had the time. I didn't have enough time to find my kid another surgeon in his specialty in time."

"Oh Jennie. That's not—How can you even blame yourself for that?" Chaeyoung said honestly.

"Because I should have been better! I would have been better. I know I would have. I could have found one in time. I would have even paid them with the foundation if they wouldn't do pro bono. I thought I had the time but he died because I was too damn busy obeying all of my father's whims so Lisa could get out alive!"

Chaeyoung continued to console Jennie, trying to get her to stop crying as hard as she was.

________

Jisoo found Lisa still in Jennie's room, holding her head. She had watched her fiancée take Jennie down to the shelter, consoling her all the way and she knew it was her turn to take Lisa. Jennie needed gentleness right now, Lisa needed tough love.

Jisoo sighed and sat on the floor in front of Lisa.

"Limario."

Lisa didn't budge, staring down at the ground.

"Lisa."

Lisa looked up stoically, her eyes were red rimmed but she refused to let the tears fall. She didn't think she deserved to cry.

"This was my bastards uncle's fault you realize that right?"

Lisa shrugged, a little catatonically.

"Don't let him rip more away from you two! Get it together Limario. You two have been through hell and back. You lost a whole fucking year with each other which can I say was miserable for me too because I saw my baby cousin and my best friend slowly fall apart."

Lisa nodded.

Jisoo sighed heavily, knowing it was serious because Lisa didn't even register when she called Lisa her best friend. Jisoo almost got up to slap her to snap her out of it.

Come to think of it, Jisoo thought, that might not be such a bad idea. She got up in Lisa's face and slapped her. Not enough to hurt her, just enough to get some kind of reaction.

"Sure, kick me while I'm down." Lisa grumbled.

"Well! You weren't listening." Jisoo said indignantly.

"I am listening."

"Then fucking do something!" Jisoo said in frustration. "You're crying, Jendeuk is crying, and my asshole uncle is probably in his study having his expensive whiskey and laughing at the fact he just screwed you guys over yet again."

"What do you expect me to do?"

"Fix it!"

"Fix what Jisoo! I can't bring him back! I can't turn back time!" Lisa said angrily, thinking about the kid again.

"What about Jennie!"

"What about her?"

Jisoo actually slapped her, harder that time.

Lisa scowled.

"She's crying for you! You think you feel guilty? How do you think she feels? This was her decision in the first place. She thought she was doing what was best. She sacrificed herself and look what happened. She lost a kid and now she thinks she's losing you too."

"She's not losing me."

"Coulda fooled me!"

"She's not. I love her, I told her I wouldn't let her go this time and I won't."

"Then why are you making her suffer? Go to her!"

"Because Jisoo, she knows me too well. She can take one look at me and know I feel responsible for his death. Like you said, she feels guilty enough as it is, I don't need to add to her guilt and make her think she did this to me too."

Jisoo scowled. "Get up you idiot."

Lisa didn't budge so Jisoo grabbed her harshly by the collar and dragged Lisa towards the shelter.

"You think she'd rather sit and wonder if you hate her than see you look like this. Seriously!" Jisoo said scowling. "Idiot."

Lisa let herself be dragged down the stairs, almost stumbling and falling face first. Jisoo flung her into the room.

"Come on chipmunk."

Rosie nodded. She patted Jennie on the head twice so she would sit up and walked out with Jisoo.

Jennie noticed Lisa was in the room and avoided her gaze, rubbing her eyes. She was sure they looked puffy.

Lisa toed the ground a couple of times sheepishly before moving to the couch slowly.

"I'm sorry." Lisa mumbled.

Jennie looked to the ground, "You have nothing to be sorry about. Its all my fault." Jennie felt another sob coming, she took a deep shuddering breath and its all Lisa needed to run to the couch and hold her.

"I'm sorry Jennie. It's not. Its not your fault. Jisoo's right, you did what you thought was best. You could have never guessed this would have happened." Lisa said soothingly. "I never blamed you."

"I killed him Lis. I killed him." Jennie sobbed harder.

"No baby. You could have never known that would happen."

Lisa maneuvered herself so that she could put Jennie in between her legs but Jennie was still sideways, clinging on to Lisa's arm for dear life as she cried.

"I should have asked you, before I decided for the both of us to break up because of his threats. I should have asked right?"

"I would have done the same thing." Lisa admitted, kissing the top of Jennie's head. "I was just a little upset but you made the same choice I would have made. I get it now baby. I promise."

"We're okay? You're not going to leave me?" Jennie asked in a small voice.

Lisa made her look up, holding her face with both hands.

"I told you Jennie, I'm not letting you go ever again. You're mine and I'm yours. Your father can keep trying to break us up all he wants but he'll never succeed. We're too strong. I love you too much and I know you love me just as much baby. He'll never tear us apart. Not even a year of heartbreak could break us. We found our way back to each other and no matter what happens from now on I know we always will." Lisa said with conviction.

Jennie reached up to touch Lisa's cheek softly, "I love you so much. I won't let him. I won't let him keep trying to break us anymore Lili. I gave him another chance but I'm done. I'm sending him away."

Lisa didn't care about him, he could keep trying. All she cared about was the girl in front of her.

"I love you too." Lisa leaned down to kiss Jennie feverishly. Their tears mixing and Jennie slowly stopped crying as Lisa kept kissing her, her lips calming her down.

Lisa didn't realize she started pressing herself against Jennie, pushing her into the couch. Soon she was on top of Jennie as they continued kissing. Jennie snaked her hands around Lisa's neck, squeezing it and bringing her close like she might disappear at any moment.

Lisa moved to kiss Jennie's jaw slowly, working her way towards her neck, her hands starting to roam.

"Hell no!" Jisoo said, startling the other two apart. "No more banging in my shelter. I just got this shit deep cleaned." She said smirking as Chaeyoung giggled behind her.

"What the hell Jisoo!" Lisa said scowling.

"You guys can bang later. We still have to celebrate your reckless ass." Jisoo said raising the fresh glasses she brought and indicating the take out Chaeyoung was carrying to the table excitedly. She sat down on the floor in front of the coffee table and started laying everything out.

Jennie let out a giggle. She was sure she looked a mess but despite the emotional rollercoaster she had just gone through, all was right in the world.

"You're such a fucking cockblock!" Lisa said shoving Jisoo.

"I think the correct term should be twat block, and you wouldn't be banging my baby cousin if I hadn't dragged your depressed sorry ass down here. Twice!" Jisoo added, for good measure.

"Dig in!" Chaeyoung said, again, very unnecessarily because she was already munching on a dumpling herself.

Lisa and Jennie both slid to the floor to be level with their friends as they ate from the coffee table. Celebrating Lisa's win.

"You guys better not do another drinking contest tonight because we'll leave you both down here when you get too drunk." Jennie said to Lisa and Jisoo.

They looked at each other, smirking because Jisoo had already texted Lisa slyly the terms of their next game.

"Guys!"

"What?" Lisa said, her voice high pitched.

Jisoo shrugged nonchalantly. "We're not doing anything."

"I'm so sure, Kim Jisoo. I saw you texting under the table." Chaeyoung said without looking at her, loading up her plate with some rice.

"How did you even see that?" Jisoo asked incredulously, sure her fiancée had been too focused on eating to notice.

"I don't have to see to know." Chaeyoung shrugged.

"So you didn't see?" Jisoo asked.

"Nope."

"So you tricked me?"

"Yup."

"I love you." Jisoo said dreamily.

Chaeyoung giggled, feeding Jisoo a dumpling.

"You just like it when I'm bad."

Jisoo spaced out for a second, thinking about all the times Chaeyoung was bad for her.

"Okay that's enough." Lisa said, face contorted in disgust, completely catching on to whatever Jisoo must be thinking about right now. "I know Rosie's my best friend, but she's also technically my sister and that's inappropriate."

"Please, you're worse with my baby cousin!" Jisoo argued.

"Sister trumps cousin!" Lisa argued back.

"Adoptive sister!" Jisoo amended.

"So!" Is all Lisa could really come up with.

"You literally get naked in front of each other. I've never seen my baby cousin naked." Jisoo pointed out.

"Not true." Jennie interjected.

"When have I seen you naked?" Jisoo asked perplexed.

"In the bath houses!" Jennie said immediately. "We go all the time!"

"I don't look at you though!" Jisoo protested.

Jennie shrugged. "Still naked."

"So the only people that haven't seen each other naked is me and wifey?" Chaeyoung pointed out.

"We should correct that." Jennie teased.

"We should. Lets break up with our women." Chaeyoung said.

"Right, they'll take us back anyway."

"We're breaking up." Chaeyoung and Jennie both said to the girls immediately.

"No!" Jisoo and Lisa said in unison.

Chaeyoung got up and held her hand out for Jennie to take. "We'll be right back."

Jennie got up giggling, lacing her fingers in between Chaeyoung's.

Jisoo and Lisa both got up abruptly.

"Mine." Lisa said almost growling, pulling Jennie away from her best friend, glaring at Rosie.

"You're not my favorite cousin anymore." Jisoo told Jennie with narrowed eyes. "How could you?" She said indignantly. "This is worse than breaking bro code!"

Chaeyoung and Jennie both started laughing.

"You two are ridiculous." Chaeyoung said as she sat back down. Jisoo pulled her into her lap just for good measure.

Lisa placed Jennie in between her legs too and wrapped her arms around her protectively, shooting Chaeyoung glares every now and again and Rosie just giggled when she caught them before turning her attention back to Jisoo.

Jennie smiled, turning in Lisa's arms slightly, "You really think I would break up with you for a one night stand with Rosie?" She asked giggling.

"Can't be too careful." Lisa said shrugging. "She's not as innocent as she looks." Lisa said darkly, shooting Rosie another glare.

"You're my only one Lili, don't you know that yet?" Jennie whispered.

Lisa's heart soared. She looked back to Jennie.

"Kiss me?" Jennie asked, tilting her chin up.

Lisa slowly kissed her, forgetting the world around her, forgetting heartbreak and kids gone too soon and successful studios and IPA's. Forgetting anything good and bad, because to Lisa, all there was for her was Jennie.

And Jennie was everything good in this world.
