Fake Dating... or is it real?
Jennie sent the thick manila folder out the next day to the police.
It was filled with all of her father's nonprofit's discrepancies. She was pissed that he had dared to approach Lisa and tried to ruin them again.
She had warned him. She had told him to leave them alone, especially Lisa and despite the fact Jennie had threatened him with all the dirt she had on him now he still tried and now she was done. She gave him a chance.
He was an asshole but mostly a dumbass and Jennie knew he wasn't the reason for the fraud but he had been too stupid to notice and he had basically threatened her relationship with Lisa again and Jennie was done with that. She wouldn't let him come between them anymore.
Jennie's father was arrested a week after that.
Jennie got lucky and just so happened to be passing by the administration building. She witnessed a team of policemen run into the building where her father's office was at and they dragged out two men a few minutes later.
Her father, and Kai's dad.
Jennie felt a little bad for getting Kai's dad arrested too, she hadn't known he was involved. She hadn't meant to take his father away too but when Jennie went to Lisa's studio afterwards she was almost tackled to the ground by an overeager Kai as he hugged her.
"Thank you!" Kai said as he squeezed her. "Of course my best friend's woman would get my shitty father out of my mom's life! Of course the girl that's always helped protect me from him without even knowing it did it again!
Thank you so so much Jennie. I don't know how I could ever repay you for everything you've done for me. Especially since most of it was without your consent and I don't deserve forgiveness but thank you!"
Jennie looked at him a little perplexed, she would have shoved him off but she was confused. She knew Kai didn't particularly like his dad but he had always tried to please him. He'd always been that way so Jennie was confused that Kai would actually be grateful for putting him away.
Jennie didn't get a chance to answer because Lisa walked up and grabbed Kai harshly by the back of his shirt, pulling him back.
"You're not allowed to touch my woman!" She scolded him.
"Sorry best friend." Kai said sheepishly. "Just got a little excited. I gotta go call my mom." He said, and he rushed off, practically skipping. He was so excited that they could hear him on the phone despite running to the office. He left the door open but even if it had been closed they probably still would have heard him.
"Mommy! Dad's finally gone! You can move in with me if you want! My best friend pays me really well so I'm not useless anymore. I can support you. I already booked those painting classes you wanted to take that dad wouldn't let you go to. You can make friends now!
Oh, oh, I got you a divorce lawyer too. She said that it should be easy for you to get the house and more than half of his assets since he wouldn't let you work or leave the house without him.
I still have that security footage of when he tried to hit you and the picture of my black eye when I shoved him trying to defend you. Thank God I ended up coming home early from my vacation in Costa Rica and caught him, I don't know what I would have done if he had actually hit you."
There was a pause as he listened to his mom's response. Jennie and Lisa didn't really mean to eavesdrop, but there was no where to go. Besides, Lisa knew all of this anyway.
Kai had already told her as soon as Lisa had broken the news to him about what Jennie had done as soon as she had mailed that envelope, knowing he would be happy about it considering he had opened up about his life to her already and knew what his dad had done, so she didn't feel bad and she knew Kai wouldn't care if Jennie knew. He only hadn't told her out of respect for her space, feeling guilty for everything he did to her.
"I know mom. It's okay. It was just one black eye and I could have given him much worse but I didn't want him to send me to jail and leave you alone with him. Its okay, it was so worth it because since I have proof of that and he's going to stand trial for fraud the lawyer thinks she can get the divorce finalized quickly and your alimony to you in six months!
Dad will probably bail himself out by tomorrow though, maybe even tonight so I'll come by after work today to get your stuff and we'll leave everything at my place and you can live with me or we can look for an extra place if you want your privacy! I looked at some apartments I can afford that are smaller than the one I'm in so I can move there and you can stay at mine!"
Lisa tried not to smile as she heard him, she was going to let him go after that call so he could go help his mom, she could take over the studio for the rest of the week to let them settle in.
She was so happy that he could finally get his mother out of that situation. His mom had been the biggest reason he listened to his father's whims, staying home with them most days instead of the dorms to make sure he never tried to hit her again. His mother only stayed in the marriage so that Kai's dad continued supporting him.
It's why Kai had always felt so useless. At the fact he couldn't do anything for himself to support her.
There was another pause as Kai listened to her and then they heard his voice get even giddier.
"Guess what mommy? My boyfriend has an uncle who has a best friend who has a brother who said you're really beautiful. So, do you want to go on a blind date with him? I met him! He's really nice and kinda hot!"
"Who is he?" Jennie said incredulously. She couldn't reconcile the Kai she used to know, the shitty, cheating, asshole Kai to this one. Though listening to that conversation explained even more to her.
Kai had always been gentle with his mom, even when he was an asshole. She started remembering glimpses of the Kai before America, the Kai that she used to play with when she was little. The Kai that was her friend.
She reluctantly decided she might have to give him a chance to make amends after all. To let him in and be that childhood friend again that would follow her and Jisoo around and they'd both follow Jisoo's lead as she schemed her way into getting more cookies after bedtime or ice cream for Jennie or finding ways to steal back the toys that they were grounded from when they were too mischievousâJisoo's doingâand would find a way to steal them backâalso Jisoo's doing as Kai followed them faithfully.
"That's what I've been saying ever since I got back." Lisa said knowingly, she still wasn't over her shock either. She still wondered if maybe Kai had an evil twin that had taken his identity all of those years and now the evil twin was finally gone. That made more sense to her than the complete 180 she kept witnessing, however implausible it was.
Lisa walked up to Jennie and pulled her in for a kiss.
She pulled away just barely, whispering into her lips. "Are you okay?"
Lisa and Kai had found out about both Kims' arrests through the news, they had expected it any day now of course, considering Jennie had mailed the proof in last week.
Jennie reached up and touched Lisa's cheek, "what do you think?" Jennie asked her, eyes sparkling.
Lisa smirked. "So the fact I asked Jisoo if we could throw a house party and called Bambam's keg guy and bought a shit ton of alcohol from him and invited everyone and their mothers to the house tonight to celebrate your shitty father getting arrested was a good move?"
Jennie shot her Lisa's favorite gummy smile and winked and Lisa swooned.
"It was a perfect move." Jennie whispered into her lips as she moved in to kiss her too.
________
Lisa had in fact bought a shit ton of alcohol and had Chaeyoung invite everyone she knew. Which would have been a bad idea if South Korea wasn't so lenient with alcohol laws, as long as someone wasn't driving drunk. So drunk people having a good time and trickling out into the sidewalks drunk in public or overall being rowdy was not uncommon. Which was really good for their party because Chaeyoung. Seriously. Knew. Everyone. And that rowdiness was definitely bound to happen.
As predicted, the house was packed. Even the yards and the balconies. There were even dozens and dozens of people just hanging out and sitting on the long front stairs leading up to the entrance to Jisoo's house.
Jisoo knew this would happen, considering she knew that Chaeyoung would feel guilty if she only invited certain people and not others so of course she spent the whole day texting everyone she knew and sending invites on social media so she wouldn't hurt anybody's feelings if she didn't invite them because hurting someone's feelings was Chaeyoung's biggest fear.
Jisoo always laughed at that, because as if she even could. She was too sweet.
Jisoo knew she would probably even end up inviting the convenience store attendant down the block and that one server from years ago that gave her a free appetizer once. Chaeyoung was like that, and she remembered everybody, no matter how insignificant their encounter was.
Chaeyoung did. She invited both of them.
Jisoo didn't know how she was so good with names because Jisoo could meet someone ten times and still forget their names, Chaeyoung needed five seconds with someone and she'd probably remember them for life, name included if she got it, and if she had the time she always made sure to get it.
So Jisoo of course did her due diligence, she brought out two good bottles of wine from her stash and gifted them to the neighbors, apologizing in advance for the noise that would inevitably rage all night and well until morning and inviting them too because with the amount of people her girl would invite she knew the party would get out of hand.
Jisoo was a little surprised when she saw that they actually took up the invitation. She shouldn't have been surprised though because Chaeyoung had told her that they would and Chaeyoung was never wrong about people.
Jisoo had found it improbable considering one of her neighbors was an elderly couple.
But they walked in and thanked Jisoo, handing her a housewarming gift, apologizing for not coming to welcome her sooner because they had been on a retirement vacation.
Jisoo finally realized that of course they would have come as they watched them mingle and Jisoo and Chaeyoung both found it amusing as the couple immediately got crowded by eager college students.
At first it was only because the neighbor lady had baked a bunch of sweets and she offered them out, but then they stayed because they talked about their adventures and they were all kind of hilarious and no one could really keep the laughter in as they showed them a video of them sky diving.
Who wouldn't laugh and cheer on excitedly as they watched two eighty year olds jump out of an airplane, both of them gleefully screaming. Especially after they followed their videos up with a video of their twenty year old grandson, who screamed like a little girl as he went down in fear for most of the way, and they laughed even harder as they watched the point of view of the guys handling the skydive, and how it had been his grandma who had pushed him off because he was too scared to jump and kept holding the sides of the plane.
He was jumping with a professional of course but his grandparents were already experienced sky divers so they jumped right after him all on their own.
The stories only got better from there because they had been adventurous all of their lives so they told story after story of them being crazy and their younger selves had been the wildest. Even Jisoo was impressed.
"I want to be like them when I grow up Chipmunk." Jisoo said in awe.
Chaeyoung giggled, "I told you that you would like them."
Chaeyoung had met them when they moved into the house and of course, being her, she greeted them and talked to them and they told her they'd be going on a year long vacation, gushing about the places they would go. They were on their way out, they'd only just gotten back from that vacation about a week ago because they had extended it a bit.
Their other neighbor was a divorcee. Chaeyoung had spoken to her too and found out she ended up with all of her cheating husband's money.
Jisoo always thought she looked bitter because when you first looked at her she looked angry but Chaeyoung had always told Jisoo that was just her face.
She was right, because she was really nice and surprisingly extroverted and Jisoo even found out as they talked that she had grown up really poor and this was not the lifestyle she had been used to until she married her husband.
She had worked all her life and met him at a prestigious company that she had been hired at when she graduated, his mother owned it but had retired from having an active job there, letting him run it, and she thought they had hit it off.
They had, until she turned thirty and he found twenty year olds more interesting because according to him, when she had caught him cheating, thirty was too old and it wasn't his fault he was attracted to the barely turned twenty year old he was on a date with.
She hadn't even deigned to respond to him, turning to the poor girl and saying, "you know he's thirty five right, and will soon be recently divorced. You can do better honey. Trust me. Don't be like me. You're too beautiful and judging by that logo on your phone case, you're going to a really good school. Don't waste your time on him."
She walked away and left them to it. She laughed as she heard the distinct sound of liquid splashing and she was sure her soon to be ex husband had gotten a big splash of wine to his face.
"Ew! You creep! You said you were 25 and single!"
"Wait!"
"No. Just no."
The girl rushed away and sent a grateful thank you to her before rushing out of the restaurant.
Despite getting cheated on by a man she thought loved her, she won in the end.
All she had asked from him was a divorce.
Despite not making the money he made, she had still gone to college and could support herself. She didn't need him, but her mother in law loved her so much and was angry her idiot son was chasing after girls after being married, girls too young for him at that because she didn't raise him like that. So she sued her own son for her and gave her all the money.
Her mother in law visited her more often than her own mother probably did, which was saying a lot because her mother was incredibly sweet too. The only downfall was that between her mother and her other motherâbecause that's what she called her mother in law too, the amount of nagging and trying to set her up on blind dates was ridiculous.
It was a decent price to pay though, because she gained a second mother and she realized she was really unhappy in her marriage anyway. This was the happiest she'd ever been.
Lisa hit it off with her, considering they came from similar backgrounds. They talked about struggling when they were young and how much their parents sacrificed for them and how grateful they were for the opportunities they got. How happy they were because they had managed to make them proud.
Lisa didn't have her parents anymore, obviously, but she knew her mom was proud of her, wherever she was resting now. And Chaeyoung's parents, technically her parents too, always made sure to praise her and gush about how proud they were of their adoptive daughter too.
Lisa was midway into responding at what their neighbor had just said when she caught a glimpse of her old dance mentor. She had graduated almost four years before and made it pretty big in the dance world and when she wasn't on tour she would come help teach classes at SNU.
"Seulgs!" Lisa said giddily. "I thought you were still on tour!"
Seulgi smirked and did her signature handshake with her. "Whatever, you just didn't want to invite me to your party. I had to hear it from Chaeyoung." Seulgi teased her.
"Shut up! Not true, I keep up with your tour dates. That K-pop group you're dancing for had an encore concert in Singapore this weekend, I saw that they added an extra day. You weren't supposed to be back at least until Sunday. Probably even later because your Korea dates don't start until next weekend."
Lisa started frowning and checking her over, "Wait, are you hurt?" She said in worry, because Seulgi would never miss a concert willingly, she was too much of a professional.
"Aww, you do care." Seulgi said teasingly, pinching her cheeks.
"Shut up asshole." Lisa said grumpily as she swatted Seulgi's hands away. "Seriously though, are you hurt?"
"No, don't worry. I got the night off."
"But you're like the main back up dancer, why would they give you a night off?"
Seulgi sighed dramatically. "Well, it was going to be a surprise, but I have really good news."
"What."
"I just got offered to be the head of SNU's dance department."
"What! Seulgi that's huge!" Lisa said pulling her into a hug. "You'll be like the youngest ever!"
"That's not even the best news."
"What's the best news?" Lisa asked.
"You're standing in for me next weekend."
"Standing in?"
"I lied, I did get hurt. Nothing serious, just rolled my ankle pretty bad during rehearsals and they don't want to risk me making it worse by performing. I rested for the last concert and it still hasn't healed, but now they need a replacement because the girl that's supposed to take my place unfortunately had a death in her family.
They're obviously giving her time to grieve and there was no one to fill that spot because the other dancers have their own roles going too. So you're taking my place for the next two dates for their concert in Seoul."
"Seulgi." Lisa said with her eyebrows furrowed, unable to really process because there was no way she was going to take Seulgi's spot as the main back up dancer for one of the biggest k pop acts in history. "What does that mean?"
"It means you're an idiot for not realizing that when I challenged you to learn my choreography in a week and send me videos that I had an ulterior motive. I showed the videos to the stage managers and the producers and the group of course and they all loved you. Of course they did.
So you're in. You start rehearsals tomorrow so you can get a feel for the stage and get the chemistry going with the other dancers and the group." Seulgi said nonchalantly, as if she hadn't just offered Lisa the biggest opportunity of her life on a golden platter.
"I expect you to treat me to dinner for the rest of the year because I'm a little annoyed at the fact that a college student that dropped out before her senior year and didn't even graduate is getting paid more than me for her first job and got the lead dancer role on her first try. I so humbly admit I was the best dancer in SNU history, until you apparently, so you owe me food to quell my stung ego." Seulgi said smirking.
She knew Lisa hadn't actually dropped out and that she planned to go back to graduate after her fellowship, but she loved to tease her. She wasn't wrong either, she had been the best to do it at SNU, until Lisa came along.
Seulgi had broken records for being hired so quickly and getting the main dancer spot with such a big group and the head of the department spot so young because no one under the age of forty had gotten it and she was barely twenty eight, but she had a feeling Lisa was going to surpass her.
Lisa was still frozen and Seulgi rolled her eyes and let her process as she turned to the beautiful girl Lisa had been talking to who had politely stayed, not wanting to be rude but watched on in amusement.
"I'm sorry for interrupting, but I'm especially sorry for being so rude and not introducing myself, considering my friend here has no manners." Seulgi said. "I'm Seulgi."
"Irene."
"How do you know this idiot, Irene?" Seulgi asked, wanting to prolong the conversation because as soon as she had spotted her she had wanted to talk to her.
They had planned on surprising Lisa with the news pretty much since Seulgi had found out her replacement couldn't do the Seoul dates. Lisa was a dance machine so she had no doubt she'd nail it and get hired and as soon as Lisa had sent the first set of videos Seulgi knew it was a done deal, so she reached out to Chaeyoung to tell her about it so they could surprise her.
It had been perfect timing because Chaeyoung knew Lisa was planning this party for Jennie so she invited Seulgi and they were going to break it to her sometime during the night while they all gathered and had shots in their hands so they could toast to her.
Seulgi was supposed to sneak around and not let Lisa see her until Chaeyoung could gather everybody together, which wouldn't have been hard considering the amount of people at the party.
But of course Seulgi set eyes on this gorgeous girl talking to Lisa, and she knew it wasn't Lisa's girlfriend considering her personal instagram was now flooded with shots of a giggling and blushing Jennie.
If she hadn't followed Lisa for so long she would have thought it was Jennie's instagram instead.
She would have felt bad about ruining the plan but how could she not when there was a literal model in the middle of the living room. She went straight to them and botched the plan, and she was glad she did because Irene smiled prettily at her before answering.
"I'm just the neighbor."
"Damn." Seulgi said, pouting.
"What?" Irene asked in confusion.
"Sorry, its just I thought you might be single." Seulgi shrugged shamelessly.
"I am?" Irene answered, looking even more confused as to why her being their neighbor had anything to do with her love life.
"You are?" Seulgi perked up. She thought it was a longshot that a girl that gorgeous would be single, but she tried anyway and when she told her where she lived she thought she had no chance because this neighborhood was full of settled down couples. It was basically marriage utopia.
"I mean, recently divorced, but definitely happily single." Irene said, smiling. "I moved here a year ago after the divorce."
"How happy?" Seulgi ventured to ask. "Like, not giving anyone else a chance happy orrrr happy but still open to dates?"
"Oh god, please, no more blind dates. I get that from my mothers enough. I can't take sitting down with another man who is going to spend the entirety of dinner bragging about how successful he is and still think that the date went well just because he was a 'gentleman' and paid." Irene said using air quotes on that word.
"What if your date makes you pay and doesn't talk the whole time and just listens to what you have to say?" Seulgi asked, a bit teasingly. "Would you go on a date then?"
Irene immediately thought Seulgi wanted to set her up with someone.
"I'm sure your friend, cousin, brother or whoever he is, is nice, and I'm flattered, but no thank you. I only go on the other dates because it makes my mothers happy but I can't take one more blind date." Irene said, looking traumatized.
Seulgi laughed, despite being devastated, Irene looked really cute when she made that look and she couldn't help but laugh.
"That's a shame because I really wanted to ask you out despite feeling like you're probably not even into girls too, but if you're into boys and still wont date them, then I guess I don't even have a shot.
It was really nice to meet you Irene, you're very beautiful, and I hope you know that I say that respectfully. I'm not hitting on you, I just feel like you should be told that because you are.
Well, I guess I was hitting on you but I'll stop here considering you're not interested in dating.
But, at the risk of humiliating myself a little bit, if you ever change your mind, about a date with me, this one here has my number and I hope maybe you might call me, the offer will always be open.
I won't even ask for yours because I know I'll just beg you daily for you to give me a chance and then it wont be respectful so I'll take my leave here. Have a good night pretty girl."
Seulgi sent her a wink and threw an arm around Lisa, who literally missed the whole conversation because she was still processing.
"Come on idiot. Lets go find your girl and your sister and your best friend so we can toast to you and you better pretend like I didn't already ruin the surprise and that its the first time you're hearing about it because Rosie will be devastated that she didn't get to witness your reaction and Jisoo will kick my ass if I make her cry and honestly I'd take that over seeing her crying because its just so sad."
Lisa nodded blankly.
Thankfully, by the time they all got together, Bambam, Kai, Mrs. Kim, Jessi, Taehyung and his boyfriend Jimin included, Lisa got out of her shock enough to actually react.
Chaeyoung did the honors to say the toast and congratulate her as she told her the surprise. This time it finally registered that she was getting to do a show with the biggest K-Pop group ever.
They were known for their choreography because it was really difficult and she was going to be on stage for most of it. She was the lead back up dancer so even on their solo stages, she was going to be the only one up there.
So her response wasn't even fake, and Seulgi realized it was probably a good thing she had spoiled it before considering now she was watching Chaeyoung and Lisa skip around in a circle giddily as the rest of them giggled as they watched them.
Jennie gave them their moment, grinning wide as she watched her best friend almost suffocate her girlfriend as she hugged her and told her how proud she was of her.
"I told you Lis! I told you." Chaeyoung cried the happy tears that no one was surprised over. "I told you that you could make all of your dreams come true! Both of them!"
They were a little surprised when Lisa shed some tears too though.
"I couldn't have gotten here without you Chaengie. I would have quit a long time ago if I didn't have you." Lisa said honestly, hugging her tight. "I'm kind of really glad you slapped the shit out of me when I tried to leave to Thailand."
Chaeyoung pulled away and held her face in both hands, "I should have let you go."
Lisa looked at her in confusion as Chaeyoung's lip trembled.
"I'm sorry Lis."
"For what?" Lisa asked, completely bewildered and concerned because although Chaeyoung was already crying, Lisa knew her enough that the tears falling now were sad tears, not the happy ones from a moment ago.
"I should have let you go. You would have had some time with her. With your mom. I hate that I caught you trying to leave because you could have gone to see her one last time before she passed. It had been so long since you had seen her. I wish I hadn't caught you because even if you had left I would have just flown to Thailand to bring you back anyway but I did and I robbed you of that last week with her."
Chaeyoung had felt guilty all of those years for that, holding it in but she just couldn't anymore. She had wanted to apologize for years but she knew Lisa wasn't okay, she knew any mention of her mom would just send her off the ledge.
"Oh Chaengie," Lisa said, pulling her crying best friend into a hug. "You couldn't have known. You didn't rob me of anything."
"I did Lis. I did. If I wasn't so selfish, wanting to keep my best friend from leaving me you could have seen her. Hugged her at least. Had a home cooked meal with her like you always talked about because you always told me that besides your mom the thing you missed the most was her food because she was an excellent cook. You could have told her you loved her in person one last time." Chaeyoung said, crying harder.
Lisa sighed, pulling her back in for a warm hug and smiled. "Don't you want to know what my mom's last words to me were, when I called her and told her I was coming home?"
Chaeyoung couldn't even answer because she was crying too much. It took everything in Jisoo not to ruin their moment and pull her in because while she found happy tears Chaeyoung adorable, sad tears Chaeyoung broke her heart and it went against every instinct she had to not go to her and comfort her but she knew, this time, it was Lisa that needed to do the comforting, not her.
"She told me that I already was home, living with you and your parents. Our parents. She told me not to be stupid and make you cry by leaving. She said she was going to lock all of the doors to our little house and not let me in if I dared try to show up.
Of course I was stubborn and told her I was coming and joked about how I could always get into the house through the bathroom window that never seemed to lock right.
Then she really scolded me and said that if I really showed up she would disown me. Then she said she had a surprise for me and that I better stay put.
I didn't tell you because I know it would make you sad, but she saved enough to come here too. Your parents helped get her a visa apparently and she was supposed to move in with us because they're so sweet that they would even take her in too.
I only found out because when I went back to arrange her stuff after she passed I found the boarding pass and the visa and some legal stuff and I asked our parents and they told me. They were always going to tell me, but hadn't found a way to say it yet. So they confessed when I asked and told me about the plan they had made to get my mother here with me too.
So stop it Rosie.
Don't cry.
Please, because my mom told me not to leave you. So even if you hadn't slapped the crap out of me, I would have still stayed because she demanded me to stay, I was just too stubborn and kept packing but I knew in the end I wouldn't leave.
Even though I didn't know her plans, I would have stayed because she asked me to. I know she missed me but she knew you were my literal sister and that I needed you and you needed me. She was gone too soon and I hate that I didn't get to see her often but she wanted me here and no one could have predicted what would happen."
Chaeyoung cried hard, Lisa did too as they held each other.
"I'm so sorry Lisa. I'm so sorry."
Lisa shook her head as she held her tight.
"You single handedly plucked me out of that nightmare, helped me graduate, encouraged me to pour my heart and soul into my audition and portfolio. You seriously have absolutely nothing to be sorry about. You're the reason I'm here. The reason I even made it. I can't thank you enough for any of it."
They finally pulled away and Chaeyoung went straight to Jisoo, who already had the tissues, ready to wipe away her tears. She dabbed at her face gently without ruining her make up. Jisoo was a pro at that by now.
"Lili." Jennie said as she threw her arms around her neck when Lisa went straight to her too.
"Fuck it, lets just take the shots." Jessi said because she knew neither couple was pulling apart now, not for a while.
The rest of them toasted to Lisa, who missed it because she was in her own little world with Jennie. They all dispersed and let them be, going to enjoy the party that was getting progressively wilder as the minutes wore on.
Lisa pressed her forehead to Jennie's and circled her arms around her waist to bring her close.
"Baby brat." Lisa said fondly, now that she could breathe again after that emotional conversation.
Jennie pulled back her right arm to wipe the tears from Lisa's face.
Lisa closed her eyes as she did it. She hummed as Jennie traced a thumb on her lips.
"I'm so so proud of you, I can't even begin to tell you how blessed I feel to be able to brag about being your girlfriend. Is there anything you can't do Lili?" Jennie asked teasingly. "Because I don't think so. I'm so damn proud of you, but I know despite the impossibility of someone actually being more proud of you than me, there is someone. Your mom. I wish you could hear all the ways she's probably praising you right now."
Lisa hugged her tighter, feeling her chest swell over her words.
Lisa started swaying them in place despite the fact that the music coming from Jisoo's surround sound around the house was some heady beat.
"Did you know about this?" Lisa asked as she made Jennie come closer.
Jennie grinned giddily. "It was so hard to keep it in. I kept sending Seulgi videos while you practiced."
Lisa narrowed her eyes playfully, "And here I just thought you liked my dancing."
Jennie sent her a playful eyeroll too.
"You know I love your dancing. I only took them for me but I sent them to her because it blew my mind how you could just watch whatever rehearsal video she sent you once and then execute it pretty much perfectly.
I only sent them because I just had to ask.
I just had to ask if all dancers were like you, which, by the way, she answered with a resounding no.
I even showed Jimin one of the videos and he made me laugh so hard because all he said was she's always been better than me at learning choreography that quickly so she doesn't deserve to rehearse in the room with the good speakers. She doesn't need it like I do so please tell her we're rearranging our schedule next semester and she better fight the other dancers off for me."
Lisa giggled. "He did not."
"He so did."
Lisa ignored that because Jennie had been too far away the whole night, she'd gotten carried away talking to Irene and Jennie had been swept away by Bambam at some point so they'd been apart for the last thirty minutes of the party.
So Lisa grabbed her and plopped her down on the counter in front of them, sending the bottles that were there flying everywhere.
"Lili!" Jennie said as she squealed when Lisa grabbed her hips and picked her up.
Lisa just spread her legs and stood between them once she sat Jennie down.
"This was supposed to be a celebration for you." Lisa said, as she ignored the looks they gathered considering they made so much noise what with the empty and half empty liquor and beer bottles flying everywhere when Lisa sat Jennie down. "For the freedom you finally got. I shouldn't be the one getting the attention when you're the one that made so many things happen. I was trying to show you how proud I was of you and you went and flipped it on me baby brat. That's not fair. I wanted to show everyone how awesome you are."
Jennie giggled. "You're mad I stole your thunder?" She teased as she circled her arms around Lisa's neck, bringing her close.
"Yes." Lisa pouted. "I had a whole thing planned."
"I like this better." Jennie murmured into her lips. "I like celebrating you and your accomplishments way more."
"But I want to show you how much I love you!" Lisa whined.
"Then show me tonight." Jennie rasped out suggestively. "When we're alone. Show me how much you love me tonight. I know that everything you'll do to me will be so much better than this baby," Jennie whispered into her lips and then used her arms to bring Lisa in and make Lisa kiss her.
The kiss was a little too hungry and a little too inappropriate to indulge in when there was a bunch of people around but they didn't stop to care, giving a free show, as always because when could they ever help themselves. Even when they were 'pretending,' their kisses always got a little too feverish.

Last minute ship additions, you'll see how many last minute ones there are when I post the next chapter. This was supposed to be only one, but you know me, can't have a concise chapter to save my life.
I don't even know when I started shipping Seulrene. I legit had only added them in one of my stories because I needed people and they're both dope and now I'm attached hahaha.
Also, if you've read Little Saint, the elderly neighbor couple are just the Parks from that ff in another life lol. Just so you know. You're welcome.
