Fake Dating... or is it real?
They were approached by Kai and Jennie's father after the third dance.
"May I cut in?" Kai smirked, knowing Jennie couldn't say no because of all the gathering stares. Jennie's father reached out to Lisa.
Jennie had no choice but to reluctantly be peeled away and follow Kai as Lisa let herself be led by Jennie's father.
"Why do you keep doing this Jongin. You don't even like me." Jennie accused.
"I have to."
"Why!"
"I just do!" Kai snapped.
Jennie, for the first time since they were young and in high school actually observed him. Trying to read him. She'd never really paid much attention to him since then, not bothering to get to know the man she really wanted out of her life asap. She watched as Kai's mouth twitched, frowning.
Jennie almost shoved him away, but people were watching, so she opted for the next best thing.
"You're pathetic."
Kai almost agreed. His pride wouldn't let him though. He objected, like he usually did.
"I'm your only hope. Hold on to me before you fall from grace Jennie."
"I'm starting to think its the other way around, Kai." Jennie answered in a clipped tone.
Kai avoided her eyes after that because Jennie might have been a little too close to the truth.
_____
"I should have known you'd be a good dancer." Jennie's father complimented Lisa.
Lisa didn't answer, she still wasn't over the way he had grabbed Jennie earlier.
"Being a dance major after all." He continued.
"I should hope so." Lisa finally deigned to reply.
Jennie's father slowed them down. "Dancing isn't your only dream though is it. I heard from your professors you applied for a fellowship and a grant."
Lisa swallowed hard. She hadn't even told Rosie about that. No one except the application committee and her photography professors knew.
"You'll probably get the fellowship. I have to admit, your work is good. But you'll need a sponsor if you want to travel the world and actually make it work. You can't get a photo book together from just Seoul can you? People without connections don't just get grants, even people as talented as you."
Jennie's father stopped them from dancing then. He pulled out a paper from the inside of his coat pocket, handing it to Lisa discreetly. Crushing it in between their hands.
"I'll be a dedicated sponsor Lisa, this is just the beginning. Go and travel the world with my money and take your pictures. You won't even have to graduate to gain acclaim. I have faith you'll find your perfect shot and win your IPA. Go and never come back like you've always dreamed."
He dropped Lisa's hands then. Lisa hadn't realized the music had stopped.
Jennie let go of Kai as soon as the song was over and frantically searched for Lisa. She watched as her father smirked and bowed to her before walking away. Jennie rushed over to where Lisa was standing.
"Are you okay! What did he say?" Jennie splurted out.
Lisa hadn't expected Jennie to be next to her so quick, she shoved the check into her own pocket. The crumpled check that she had noticed seconds into Mr. Kim leaving had a ridiculous amount of zeroes attached to it. More zeros than someone should earn in a lifetime let alone at a one year fellowship.
"Nothing. It's fine." Lisa said hastily.
"You're lying." Jennie accused.
"Okay." Lisa backtracked. "I'm just kind of freaked out because you were right. He really did look into my professors so I'm a little nervous."
Jennie scowled as she looked for her father, wanting to give him a piece of her mind.
"That nosy bastard. It's bad enough he messes with my life!" She grumbled, she spotted him and tried to chase him but felt a hand holding her back.
"It's okay Jennie. He didn't do anything." Lisa said because she didn't want her to find out about the check.
"You look pale Lisa, and you're a bad liar. Every time you lie to Rosie about your grades you avoid eye contact and you're doing that right now."
Lisa didn't even realize Jennie had noticed that.
"Have you been paying attention to me Kim?" Lisa teased her in order to deflect.
Jennie almost blushed. "No. You're just not subtle is all."
They ended up getting a little too drunk that night.
Jennie because she didn't know why Lisa kept doing things like making her nervous sometimes.
Lisa because of that check that was burning a hole through her pocket. She almost felt like Jennie could see it. Lisa should have known. Rich people were known for this. Jennie's father just bribed Lisa with her dream in order to get her away from his precious higher echolon daughter.
It stung Lisa's pride. The fact he thought she wasn't good enough for Jennie. It also made her hate the fact she had agreed to fake date her. Maybe this wouldn't have happened. Maybe she wouldn't have had been given false hope to actually achieve her dream and then have to turn it down because she couldn't do that to Jennie, even if they weren't actually together, but most importantly she couldn't take the check because of the reason of why he even gave it to her in the first place.
It wasn't because he actually had faith in her. He just thought everyone could be bought to do his bidding. Lisa wouldn't deign to be one of those people, but it still sucked that she could be so close to doing what she always wanted and she couldn't take it.
So Lisa kept grabbing champagne after champagne along with Jennie and by the end of it they were stumbling out together, Lisa's arm wrapped around Jennie.
Neither of them realized how wasted they had really gotten because they had spent the entire rest of the gala away from everyone sitting down at an empty table in the corner of the room being delivered champagne by the faithful servers. Until the air hit them when they got outside and the drunkenness hit them all at once.
"Shit." Lisa cursed. "I forgot I was supposed to drive."
"Idiot!" Jennie threw a light punch at her. "Why did you drink!"
Jennie should have known better too, but Lisa had distracted her and she ended up losing count at some point after their fourth drink and forgot to tell her to slow down.
"Just call a cab." Jennie demanded.
"Rich. Cabs are expensive. I'll just get us an Uber instead."
Lisa pulled out her phone, her eyes unfocused.
"Damn it, I haven't used this in so long it's got my expired card on there and I forgot my wallet."
"I'll call a cab then." Jennie dug into her purse and realized her wallet wasn't in there either.
"What?" Lisa asked, noticing Jennie frown.
"You grabbed my purse for me back at the apartment but I hadn't put my wallet in there yet."
Lisa sighed. "Aren't you rich people supposed to have drivers on the payroll for these kinds of things?"
"I'm not that rich!" Jennie lied. They were, Jennie just didn't like flaunting it. It was her father's money anyway so she had never let him hire one for her.
"I'll just call Chaengie and get her uber account then. I can pay her back."
Lisa called her.
"Chaeng! Chaengie!" She slurred. The air really was making her feel the drunkenness.
"Lisa! Why are you drunk when you drove there! Please tell me you're not driving right now." Chaeyoung scolded over the phone, immediately realizing Lisa's state.
"I'm not drunk. Just had a few but I'm being responsible." Lisa said proudly, as if Chaeyoung would even believe her. "Can I borrow your Uber account, pay ya back."
"No need for that, I'll just come get you."
"Really! You'll pick us up?" Lisa asked brightly. "Best friend ever."
"Where was it at again? Wait, never mind. Jisoo knows. Sit tight and don't go anywhere, and no more drinking!"
"Kay." Lisa hung up the phone. "They're coming for us."
"They're so far." Jennie whined. "My feet hurt." She finished pouting. She looked around for somewhere to sit. "There's gum on the stairs." She continued, pointing grumpily. "I can't sit there."
"There's a convenience store down the block, I saw it when we drove in, let's wait there." Lisa said, grabbing Jennie's hand to lead her there.
That had been a bad idea too because they ended up going inside, drunkenly deciding to grab snacks and ended up buying a few bottles of soju too.
"Wait, I thought you didn't have your wallet?" Lisa accused once she realized they were checking out and Jennie was paying while Lisa had panicked because she had forgotten they didn't have any money.
"Oops." Jennie giggled. "I don't. This is my dad's black card. I forgot I had it in here. I just realized while I dug for my wallet again that he had slipped it in here because he wanted me to get a dress for that gala." Jennie finished rolling her eyes.
"They're gonna kill us for making them drive all the way over here when we had money to get home the whole time." Lisa commented.
"Lets just finish this and they won't find out." Jennie said conspiratorially.
"You're right. We can just pretend you didn't have that. They're already on their way anyway."
So they downed the Soju in record time and they were pretty wasted by the end of it.
Lisa's phone kept ringing. She finally realized on the fifth ring that the sound coming from her pocket was her phone after Jennie tapped her and asked why she kept vibrating.
"ello?" Lisa slurred when she answered.
"Where are you?" Chaeyoung asked sharply, panicking. "We've been looking for you for over an hour."
"Oh, sorry. Forgot." Lisa giggled with an equally drunk Jennie. "Ni's feet hurt and she didn't like the gum. We're at the convenience store down the block."
Chaeyoung and Jisoo found them both with their arms resting on the table, their chins above them and giggling and staring at each other.
"They drank more didn't they?" Jisoo said, shaking her head.
"They definitely did."
"Jendeukie, where's your car?"
"Turtle Rabbitttt! You're here!" Jennie giggled, swinging both her hands up in cheer before trying to get up to hug her. She stumbled but Lisa saw and despite her own state of drunkeness she managed to catch her. Jennie buried her face in Lisa's neck. "Mmm. Smell good." She mumbled.
Jisoo facepalmed. "I'll help you get them in to my car and go back to the valet's, Jennie's car is probably still there. I'll drive behind you."
"Okay babe."
They helped Lisa and Jennie get into Jisoo's car, who wouldn't let go of each other the whole time so they shoved them both into the backseat while Chaeyoung drove them there.
Jennie's head ended up on Lisa's shoulder and Lisa had firmly interlaced their hands together and they both promptly passed out on the drive home.
Chaeyoung rolled her eyes at them for scaring her like that but she still found them so cute because of the way they were clinging to each other the whole way to the apartment.
They had to fight them to get out of the car once they got home.
"Jendeukie, come on." Jisoo tried to pull her out. "Let go of Lisa's hand so we can go upstairs."
"No." Jennie whined, burying her face farther into Lisa's neck.
Chaeyoung was trying to pull Lisa from the other side of the car too.
"She said no Chaengie." Lisa answered, grabbing Jennie tighter, refusing to let her best friend help her out of the car.
"Just for a second Lis. You can keep holding her hand once you're out, come on." Chaeyoung said, having a little more patience than Jisoo at the moment.
Lisa turned to Jennie who was falling back asleep on her shoulder and then looked back to Chaeyoung.
"Ask Nini if its okay?" Lisa slurred. "She said no so I can't let go until she says I can."
Jisoo lost her patience.
"Just come out of the same side as her Limario!"
"Kay." Lisa mumbled.
They somehow managed to get them out. Chaeyoung helped Lisa shuffle out with Jennie as Jisoo helped pick her cousin up who finally decided it was safe to walk out since Lisa wasn't letting go of her.
Chaeyoung and Jisoo had to support them both on each side. Jennie and Lisa kept clinging to each other as they went up the stairs to Jennie's room, not daring to let go.
"They literally hated each other a few months ago. I don't get it." Jisoo said in a strained voice as she helped them up. "They're so whipped for each other now it's ridiculous."
"They never hated each other though did they?"
"All they did was insult each other chipmunk."
"All they did was talk about each other disguising it with insults so they wouldn't get caught." Chaeyoung said pointedly. "They've always had an attraction. I just think they were too proud after arguing that first time over a misunderstanding so neither of them gave in but they were always complaining about one thing or the other just so they could bring each other up in conversation."
Jisoo had to admit Chaeyoung was right. Half the time Jennie and Lisa talked they were talking about Jennie and Lisa.
"I guess you're right, but still. I never expected this to happen after that disaster of us trying to introduce them to each other. How did you?"
"Didn't you ever wonder why Jennie hates Suzy so much when she's supposed to be hating Lisa even though she'd never officially met her to even know what Suzy was like? Or why Lisa hated Kai so much even though they never even spoke a word to each other and Jennie is her supposed sworn enemy?"
Jisoo raised an eyebrow in question.
"They were jealous of them." Chaeyoung finished simply.
"Why are you talking about the airhead." Jennie said grumpily, perking up when she heard Suzy's name. "She sucks."
Lisa frowned too. "Chaengie! You're my best friend. We don't say the golden boy's name. Traitor."
"Oh shit, you're right." Jisoo answered in awe. Though she shouldn't have been surprised. Her girlfriend always caught on to these types of things.
Jisoo went to get the make up wipes as soon as they made it because she knew Jennie would murder her if she let her sleep with her make up on like that. She handed them to Chaeyoung while she went to go grab Jennie some sleep clothes.
Chaeyoung tried to wipe Jennie's make up off for her but Lisa ripped the make up wipe out of her hands.
"I'll do it." She said, narrowing her eyes at her best friend.
Lisa tenderly, and very drunkenly managed to wipe the make up off of Jennie's face while Chaeyoung supervised her.
"Jendeukie get out of that dress." Jisoo demanded when she got back.
Jennie unceremoniously stripped herself to her underwear and then plopped herself onto her bed.
"You too Lisa." Chaeyoung said as she sat Lisa down on the other edge of the bed.
Lisa did as she was told.
Chaeyoung helped her strip down too while Jisoo went to go grab some of Chaeyoung's sweats from Jisoo's own closet. They would fit Lisa better than anything Jennie and Jisoo owned considering they were the same height.
Chaeyoung went to their medicine cabinet to grab aspirin and some water for them once she helped Lisa out of her clothes, fully intending on leaving it for their morning hangover.
By the time they had both come back into the room to help change them a still half naked Lisa was spooning an equally half naked Jennie and they were both passed out.
"Why do we even try?" Jisoo grumbled.
Chaeyoung just smirked and left the aspirin and water on Jennie's bedside table. They both managed to get the comforter out from under their friends so they could cover them so they wouldn't freeze to death.
_________
Lisa was having a very good dream. There was a warm body in her arms and she felt like she was sleeping on a cloud.
"So soft." Lisa mumbled as she burrowed herself more into the warm body. "Like clouds."
"S' nice and warm." Jennie answered, scootching back into the body enveloped behind her.
Lisa and Jennie were both notorious for talking in their half sleep, usually when they just woke up. Not really recognizing the line between dreaming and awake right away.
Jennie turned around in those arms and nuzzled herself into a neck. The arms around her held her tighter and Jennie hummed contentedly.
Lisa felt the rumble and started stirring again. Her hands started tracing paths across a half naked back as bare legs tangled with her own and she felt small puffs of air on her neck that made her feel tingly.
Wait. Naked? Bare?
Lisa's eyes shot open, her body almost jumping in shock, the force of the movement woke Jennie up too. Lisa froze, taking the scene in.
Jennie came to her senses first, shoving Lisa away and off of her bed, making her tumble to the ground as Jennie pulled the covers up again to hide herself.
"Oh my god Lisa why are you practically naked in my bed!"
Lisa's face barely peeked over the bed when she recovered, her eyes looking over the top in an attempt to hide her body too before responding.
"Why are you naked!"
"Did we?"
"No. No way! Did we though?" Lisa's voice lilted up in questioning shock because she couldn't remember most of last night. "Why am I even here instead of my dorm?"
"I don't know Lisa! I don't remember how we got here!"
"Well I don't either." Lisa countered.
"Put some clothes on!" Jennie said, because she didn't really know what else to say.
"You put some clothes on!" Lisa shouted back.
"I will!"
"Fine!"
"Fine!"
Jennie didn't move though, eyeing Lisa suspiciously. "Why are you still looking, turn around or something!"
"Oh." Lisa blushed. "Yeah, sorry." Lisa closed her eyes.
"Don't peek!"
"I don't wanna peek."
"Yeah right."
"I already saw you anyway!"
"Lisa!" Jennie scolded her, throwing a pillow at her after pulling an oversized t-shirt over her head hastily.
"Ow. Okay I didn't. Sorry." Lisa mumbled, still trying to keep her eyes tightly shut. She really hadn't seen much. Just a small glimpse. The small glimpse was enough to know Jennie was super fit though and Lisa was trying not to blush.
"Here." Jennie said a minute later.
She liked buying oversized things sometimes for when she was around the house and she figured it would fit Lisa. She threw the clothes straight at Lisa's face and she heard an oomph as they hit her.
Jennie left the room quickly after that, almost slamming the door behind her.
"Oh good! You're up." Chaeyoung said cheerfully. "I brought hangover soup for you guys."
Jennie smiled at her gratefully. Now that the shock of being cuddled by a half naked Lisa sort of wore off, not really, she started feeling the headache and the dryness of her mouth. She was really hungover.
Lisa shuffled in a second later, looking uncharacteristically shy.
"What's wrong with you Limario?" Jisoo said noticing, walking into the dining room right behind her.
"Headache." Lisa sort of lied. She did have a headache but she was still freaking out about what might have happened last night with Jennie.
"Hangover soup!" Her blonde best friend said cheerfully, holding it up for them. "I'll cure you guys in no time. Did you take your aspirin?"
Chaeyoung fussed over them as she gave them their bowls and lots of water and another aspirin for good measure.
"Thanks." Lisa mumbled.
"Don't thank me yet. I'm still mad at you for scaring me last night." Chaeyoung scolded them.
Lisa and Jennie locked eyes and then quickly looked away, embarrassed.
"Well, I don't exactly remember what happened but I'm sorry?" Lisa said honestly.
"You two got too fucked up and then we had to carry you home." Jisoo answered.
"I thought something happened to you guys because you wouldn't answer your phone." Chaeyoung added.
"My car?" Jennie asked.
"In the garage."
"So we didn't drive?" Jennie asked hopefully, she would have never driven drunk or let someone else drive her home drunk but she also would have never had sex with Lisa either and she might have actually done that last night so she was really questioning everything right now.
"Chipmunk drove you guys after Lisa called and I drove your car home. Then we carried you up the stairs and you both passed the fuck out before we could even help change you."
"That's it?" Lisa asked, trying to probe so she could figure out if she and Jennie had sex.
"No that's not it! You were a pain in my ass because we couldn't get you out of the car cus of your Nini!" Jisoo mocked. "You're both so whipped it's ridiculous."
"What?" Lisa asked bewildered.
Chaeyoung shoved Jisoo playfully for teasing them. "You two wouldn't let go of each other so we had to convince you to come together so we could get you out of the car." She told them fondly.
Jennie and Lisa both blushed.
"I must have been really drunk." Lisa mumbled.
"Yeah, me too." Jennie said in the same tone.
"Please you were both wasted by the time we got to you. Jennie barely managed to strip before she passed out in her room and then you followed right after."
Jennie and Lisa finally managed to look at each other, both breathing in a sigh of relief.
They ate their soup quietly, they both had to talk about it though, just to make sure.
"Hey, I have a test soon, you want to go study at the library with me? I know you're usually there today." Lisa asked Jennie as they finished.
"Yeah. I'll get my books."
"Okay, I have to swing by the dorm to get mine and I'll meet you there?"
"I can just go with you."
"Okay."
Chaeyoung's eyebrows almost disappeared at the mention of Lisa actually asking to study on her own for once or even remembering she had a test. Chaeyoung wasn't going to remind her until tomorrow because Lisa's test wasn't until the end of the week, Chaeyoung always stole Lisa's syllabuses so she could keep up for her. She realized she really shouldn't be shocked at how different she acted around Jennie at this point though.
As usual, Lisa carried Jennie's books as they walked across campus.
"So, we didn't right?" Lisa broached the subject first nervously as they neared the library.
"I don't think so." Jennie answered, and then forced out a laugh. "I can't believe we actually thought we had."
Lisa laughed out just as forcefully. "I know right, as if we would."
"Right, you can't stand me. Like we would have sex."
"Uh huh." Lisa said noncommittally. "I never would and you wouldn't either. You hate me."
"Yeah. We're idiots for thinking we would actuallyâ" Jennie was about to continue but then froze, because they ran straight into Kai right outside of the library and he was smirking.
"I knew it." He said.
Jennie tried to shove past him and Lisa followed.
"I knew you were fake." Kai added.
Jennie froze at the same time Lisa did and it only proved his point.
"I'm not fake, you are." Jennie deflected.
"Not you. Your relationship." Kai said. "I pay more attention than you think Jennie. You hate Lisa. You've never said a nice thing about her and then you were suddenly supposedly dating her."
"We are dating." Lisa intervened, putting herself between Jennie and Kai.
"I almost believed it, but after what I just overheard. After what Jennie's father told me, she probably doesn't even know about the fellowship does she Lisa? You're just using her for that."
Lisa set her jaw. Jennie looked to her curiously, not liking where this was going.
"She doesn't does she?" Kai continued. "Or what you took from her father at the gala." He smirked again.
Lisa really needed him to stop talking before Jennie got the wrong idea. She turned around to face her, ignoring Kai.
"I'll tell you about it, I promise." Lisa said. "It's not what he thinks though. It's a misunderstanding."
Jennie searched her eyes. Lisa looked almost scared, whatever this whole thing was she somehow believed Lisa.
"She's lying to you Jen." Kai scoffed. "Not that you care, considering your whole relationship is fake. I've never even seen you two kiss. I shouldn't have been swayed by your act."
"That's just because we avoid losers like the plague." Lisa bit back. She was still facing Jennie, not deigning to look at him.
"You wont kiss though." Kai taunted them. "If it was real you would but you won't."
"You just want a free show, Kai. You're disgusting." Jennie answered angrily. "There's internet sites for that, I'm sure you already know a few."
"As if I want to watch my future fiancée kiss someone else. I just want to prove my point that you've been lying this whole time. I'm not stupid. Contrary to what you think. I know when people have something to hide and do desperate things to hide them." Kai said a little too honestly and it made Jennie pause again because this was very unlike him.
"What's the fellowship thing? What did you take from my father Lisa?" Jennie asked instead, not really feeling like probing Kai further.
Lisa swallowed hard. She really thought she could have made that go away without Jennie finding out.
"He pretty much gave me a check to stay away from you. He didn't say it explicitly or anything but he insinuated it. It was for me to go on a photography fellowship I applied for but I wasn't planning on using the check I swear."
"She's lying. It was cashed in this morning." Kai said. "Do you wanna know how much you're worth to Lisa? Because I can tell you the amount she traded you for."
Jennie looked hurt and Lisa kind of hated it. Lisa shook her head desperately.
"It was in my jacket Jennie. I couldn't find it this morning. We got too drunk and I guess I lost it. You can ask Chaengie. I asked her to look for it at the apartment before we left. He gave it to me last night, I wouldn't have even had time to cash it in Jennie. We've been together the whole time."
"I gathered that, but why did you even keep it in the first place if you weren't going to use it?" Jennie whispered, feeling a little hurt.
"I didn't want you to see it. I didn't want you to know your dad did that." Lisa said honestly. "I would have burned it or ripped it up or something but you came right after when I had that dance with your father and he handed it over so I hid it instead."
"I've got to admit you're a really good actress Lisa, acting like you care about her," Kai said. "But I know a thing or two about a fake relationship with Jennie. You hold her hand but you don't kiss. You take her to parties and make her look like a princess with a knight in shining armor by her side but that's it. I don't know what's in it for you to do this, if it's just for her money it won't work because her father is just going to cut her off, whether he thinks it's fake or real or not. Whatever it is I hope for your sake I don't ever find out because I'll get Jennie back. Your plan won't work."
Kai turned to leave and his words made Jennie's blood boil so she grabbed Lisa by the collar and pulled her in.
Lisa dropped Jennie's books in shock as soon as she felt Jennie's lips on her own. It was quick. It was just a peck before Jennie pulled back.
Jennie looked into Lisa's eyes, questioningly, begging. Lisa had asked her when they made their deal that when it came down to it if they ever had to kiss do they break the deal or just go for it and Jennie was very clearly telling Lisa to go for it.
So Lisa put her hands on the sides of Jennie's neck and pulled her back in. They moved their lips together and they both immediately forgot about Kai. They both forgot this was just for show because suddenly Lisa was leading the kiss and Jennie was trying not to whimper because Lisa's lips on her felt so nice she had to bunch Lisa's shirt to pull her closer.
Lisa forgot too, she bit Jennie's lip and traced her tongue over it afterwards and Jennie opened her mouth for her and Lisa didn't stop to think that maybe tongue wasn't allowed. They didn't talk about the level of kissing they should be able to do after all.
Tongue was allowed apparently because Lisa suddenly found herself meeting Jennie's own and she might have let a small groan escape at the feeling of it. She felt Jennie's hand grab her shirt even tighter.
Neither of them realized how they were full on making out at the top of the steps right in front of the library.
They only pulled away so they could breathe.
"Does this look fake to you?" Jennie asked Kai without even looking at him. Lisa was still holding her face in her hands and staring intently at her and Jennie felt butterflies in her stomach because that kiss had really almost not felt fake and she didn't know if she was asking Lisa or Kai that question at this point. Jennie searched Lisa's eyes and she almost felt like Lisa had answered her. They looked at each other for a little too long before completely pulling apart.
Neither of them had realized Kai was already long gone. He had left as soon as he had seen Jennie peck Lisa on the lips.
They finally came to their senses and they both dropped down to pick up the books nervously. They went into the library. Lisa really had planned on studying this time, taking Jennie's last rant to heart so she had actually filled out her study guide for this test before hand. She had asked Jennie to study with her because they needed to talk away from their friends but Lisa had been planning to do it anyway.
Lisa was awful at studying and focusing but this time though, she couldn't focus for an entirely different reason. It wasn't because she hated to study like it normally was. This time she couldn't focus because she kept going back to their kiss. She kept feeling the ghost of Jennie's sweet lips on her. She shouldn't have liked kissing Jennie as much as she did. She shouldn't have kept daydreaming about it.
Jennie for the first time in her life couldn't focus on studying either. She almost thanked Kai for taunting them because Lisa was a really good kisser and Jennie hadn't been kissed like that in a long time, or ever really. She shook her head for the umpteenth time, trying to focus. She shouldn't be having those thoughts. Not for Lisa. She was just kiss deprived or something, she reasoned.
Neither of them got much work done.
"Do you think he bought it?" Jennie said sighing, putting down her pencil in frustration eventually after the umpteenth time of her reading the same paragraph over and over and retaining nothing.
"I don't know. I don't think so?" Lisa said. "Maybe we have to step our game up."
"Like how?" Jennie asked curiously.
"I don't know. Like maybe we should amend the contract."
"How so?"
"Kissing is allowed now?" Lisa asked hastily. "But only if you're okay with it. We can do it in front of him or whatever when he thinks we haven't noticed him so he doesn't suspect we're doing it for show until he buys it? Or maybe even around other people too so we can really sell it?"
"Yeah, okay. I guess, since we've already done it once. We might as well keep going." Jennie said fighting a blush. She told herself she wasn't looking forward to possibly kissing Lisa again. It was just for appearances. That's why her heart was racing, because their plan was working. Not because she just agreed to kiss Lisa again.
