Chapter 89
The Alpha's Fight for His Omega
***Rowen***
Dad, and I have spent all week with Theo, Gloria, Trent, and Kyle. Itâs been an interesting experience.
Theo, and I spent a lot of time with the trainers for his warrior program, as well as reviewing all of the
information from his program, and mine. The more he read about my program the more impressed he
was. The program his father started, and my program could be combined seamlessly, and I was really
excited about it.
Weâre decided that the program will continue at his pack until the facility I am building is complete,
which should be ready the beginning of next summer. In the meantime, when I return I am going to
select the people I want to be the trainers in my program, and send them to his pack to learn directly
from him trainers so that when to program moves his trainers can finally retire.
While with him we also established a new trade agreement with him for textiles for two of our
seamstresses. Both have been interested in the fabrics heâs been producing, but hadnât come to my
father or I about them before we came here. I felt good about that fact that while we were taking
something from his pack, we were able to give something in return.
The down side to being here has been Trent. Heâs been rude, difficult, and uninterested. At some
points he was down right hostile. Unfortunately he is the stronger one between him, and his younger
brother so being the next Alpha does fall on him. Itâs disappointing to see how uninterested he is in
learning how to be a good Alpha. He truly believes he can do the job without any training, to the point
he thinks he can do it better than his father. The really difficult thing for me to hear was when he stated
that no pack or Alpha needs anyone else. It made an Alpha weak to rely on, talk with, work with, or
otherwise have anything to do with anyone from any other pack. Nothing his father could say could
change his mind. Dad, and I stayed out of it, but it worried me for the future of their pack.
By Friday Theo, and Gloria were giving serious thought to sending him early for training with another
Alpha until Alpha school starts for him in two years. Unfortunately Dad, and I just canât take him on. I
am still learning the intricacies of my pack leaving little time for dad to work with Theo. After some calls
by Theo, Trent may find himself at Dark Moon with Jeremy, and Robert with Jeremy being his teacher. I
felt. for how hard it would be for them to send their son away early, but I think they felt like they had no
choice if they wanted what was best for the future of their pack. I wished them luck.
Now itâs Friday evening, after dinner, and Iâm in my room, video chatting with Chastity as I finish up my
final proposal to Theo. We leave Saturday afternoon to head home, but Theo wants my full plan for the
training program the following morning so he can review it, and put his stamp of approval on it. He
wants to make sure the program his father started will continue to be a success in the hands of
another,
Chastity is working on a paper she has due on Monday for one of her classes. I still enjoy being on
video chat with her as we both work on our own thing. Itâs almost like she is there with me. We donât
even have to speak, but just being able to see her face as I work will do, for now. I canât wait until the
day weâre side by side working together though. Sadly that is over two years away. That does make our
relationship difficult, but Iâm determined to do whatever she needs me to do for her.
Iâm just focusing back on my work after staring at her beautiful face for a full minute when my door
opens without someone knocking first. To say I tensed, and prepared to attack, would be an
understatement. It took me a second to calm down when I saw that it was Trent entering my room. He
slammed my door, and flopped onto the couch.
âYou know itâs rude to enter someoneâs room without knocking first, right? Itâs also dangerous. I could
have very easily attacked you.â I stated.
âMy house. I can do what I want, and go where I want. Iâm also an Alpha so I out rank you.â Trent
snorted.
âYou would be incorrect. Alphaâs still need permission to invade the space of another, unless that
person is a criminal, doing harm to another, or is in need of immediate help. Along with that, you forget
I am an Alpha. On top of that, I am Alpha with extensive training, while you have very little.â
âYou certainly donât act like an Alpha. Hanging on my wimpy fatherâs coat tails, following him around,
asking all kinds of stupid questions.â
âYour father is not a wimp. He is a very intelligent male. Heâs also an amazing Alpha. One I respect
very much. Yes I am asking your father questions because he is teaching me things I need to know for
the program I am taking over for him. I want this program to be a success, and the no one knows the
entire program better than your father, other than your grandfather, who sadly isnât with us for me to ask
him about it.â
âYou have no business taking anything from us.â
âYour father asked me. You were there when he did. He is looking out for the good of the program, and
knows your pack can no longer provide that. He is also looking out for your pack by letting go of
something that is quickly becoming a financial strain on your pack. One that your pack cannot afford to
have. He is making the best choice for everyone.â
âWhatever man. You donât know shit. As soon as I am Alpha Iâll take over the surrounding packs, and
make mine better than every pack out there.â
âAnd how do you plan to do that?â
âTake out their idiot, weak, and worthless Alphas. None of them are worth shit. A bunch of weak
whiners who think working together makes them better. It doesnât. It just makes them look as weak as
they are because they canât take care of their own pack without bugging someone else for help. A
strong Alpha doesnât need anyone.â
âYou have a lot to learn when it comes to being a good, strong Alpha. You also have a lot to learn about
the laws governing all of us. The King wonât stand for that.â
âI donât give a shit about him. He means nothing to me.â
âI would think again. All of us, every werewolf, Alphaâs included answer to the King. We always have,
and we always will. If we break his laws, we lose everything. What youâre talking about is treason to all
werewolves.â
âWhatever man. Heâs shit any way.â
âWhat the hell?â I heard Chastity say, sounding shocked.
âWho was that?â Trent asked, perking up.
âMy mate.â I stated with a smile.
âMate? Fuck that noise. Who needs a mate? Alphaâs donât need mates. Alphaâs need a harem of
females. No one female can take care of an Alphaâs needs.â Trent grumbled.
âRowen, who is that?â Chastity asked.
âTrent.â I responded.
easy
âLet me see what she looks like.â Trent walked over to my computer, and turned it to look at my
Chastity.â That? That is your mate? Man did you get the short end of the stick. Thereâs nothing to her.
Hang up. I have a few females that were 100 times better than she could ever be.â
âGet the hell out of my room, now! That is my mate, and NO ONE will speak about her like that to me.â I
growled as I stood up, grabbed Trentâs collar, and walked him to the door.
âGet your damn hands off me. You have no business touching me. Iâm the Alpha around here, and you
arenât shit! You want to settle for some piece of trash like that, youâre weaker than I thought.â Trent
grumbled as I walked him to the door.
âYou have no clue what youâre talking about, and youâre in for one rude awakening.â I growled as I
pushed him out into the hall, and shut the door.
After taking a deep breath, I walked back to my computer, and sat down. I looked over Chastityâs face. I
was really worried about how what he said would effect her. She look more confused than upset, much
to my relief.
âIâm sorry about that sweet girl.â I said quietly.
âWhy are you sorry? You didnât say all of that stuff.â Chastity responded.
âYeah, butâ¦.â
âRowen, you didnât do anything wrong. You also stood up for me when he said that about me. Not that
he said much. What is his problem?â
âIf I had to guess, the fact that heâs the son of the Alpha, and teenage hormones.â
âHeâs the one youâve been telling me about all week, right?â
âYes.â
âYikes. He needs a lot of work. I am worried about his pack.â
âI am too, but there is little we can do about it. Itâs possible that his parents are going to send him to
Robert, and Jeremy to start training in the beginning of next year.â
âWouldnât Joe be willing to train him?â
âHe is, but because he has to focus so much time preparing me to take over he doesnât have the time.
Since Jeremy is now retired he can give his full attention to Trent.â
âThat makes sense. I hope it helps.â
âMe too. I worry about what will happen to his pack, and him if training doesnât help him. I know it will
be hard for Theo, and Gloria, but if something isnât done, Trent could really damage this pack.â
âSounds like it. How is your proposal going?â
âAlmost done. What about your paper?â
âI just finished it.â
âGreat. Are you happy with it?â
âI am.â
âGive me just a few more minutes, and Iâll be finished with my proposal.â
âOk. Iâm going to write in my journal while you do that.â
âAlright.â
I watched as Chastity pulled out her journal, and Lilac climbed up her shoulder. With a chuckle I got
back to work. Thankfully it didnât take me long to finish. I read through everything one last time, made a
few corrections then saved it. I was very proud of what I had put together. I just hoped Theo was as
well. I considered asking dad to read over it, but he had been letting me handle this on my own from
the beginning. He felt that since it was my idea I should handle the whole thing myself. He felt that this
was a way I could prove to myself, and others that I could do things without having someone look over
my
shoulder. I really appreciate that.
After I was done, I looked at Chastity to see she was still writing. Instead of interrupting her, I decided
to review my emails from the day. One of the emails caught my attention, and not in a good way. It was
from the therapist at Dark Moonâs low security prison. It could only be about one person, and to be
honest I really didnât want to open it. I had no interest in what was happening with Fiona. She was out
of our lives, and I wanted it to stay that way.
âWhatâs wrong Rowen?â Chastity asked.
âHuh?â I questioned.
âThe look on your face. You donât look happy about something. Whatâs wrong?â
âIâ¦.uhhhâ¦I have an email from the Low Security Prison at Dark Moon. I really have no interest in
opening. If Iâm being honest.â
âWhy would they be emailing you?â
âI really have no idea.â
âMaybe you should read it. It might be important.â
âSweet girl, the only reason they would be emailing me is something to do with Fiona. She is no longer
in our pack, or our lives. They should NOT be emailing me. They were made aware of that they day her
paperwork was sent to them about transferring her. They were informed of the break from our pack,
and that anything concerning her was to go to her grandparents, who will be her guardians when she is
released in 3 years. Their Alpha is the one they are supposed to be contacting for anything concerning
her.â
âMaybe open the email long enough to remind them of that. Maybe itâs someone new that hasnât read
her file yet, or something?â
âMaybe, but I really donât want her disrupting our lives any more.â
âNeither do I, but as I said, maybe itâs someone who is unaware that she is no longer a member of
Moonlight, and needs to new contact information.â
âI guess. Let me see what this is about.â
With a sigh I opened the email. To say I was displeased would be an understatement. Fionaâs therapist
disregarded the order to not contact anyone from Moonlight concerning Fiona, especially me. The
paperwork in the file specifically indicated that no contact was to be made with me concerning Fiona for
any reason. My contact information was specifically left out of the paperwork to avoid just this situation.
The request, or more demand the therapist was making was crossing the line. The whole email was
downright disrespectful. I knew where the whole thing was stemming from, but it was inappropriate,
untrue, and very unprofessional. After reading it, I forwarded it to my father, Robert, the warden, and
the head of the mental health department at the prison. This was unacceptable. If the female had read
Fionaâs file completely she would have known that the things Fiona was claiming were untrue, in every
sense.
âYou look really angry now, Rowen. What does it say?â Chastity asked.
âA lot of lies, and demands that will go unanswered.â I responded with a growl.
âWhat does it say?â
âI donât really want you to read it because I donât want to upset you.â
âRowen, you forget that I spent years listening to the things Fiona had to say. I know what is true, and
what is not. Just read it to me please.â
I sighed, and nodded, âMr. Druid, I am contacting you concerning your mate Fiona Goldrind. I can
honestly say that I am disappointed in you as a person, an Alpha, and a mate. First, you believed lies
told to you about your mate. Second, you imprisoned her. Third, final, and most upsetting, you have
completely abandoned her when your mate needs you most. Fiona is suffering in here, and itâs your
job, as her mate to be there for her in every way possible. She needs her mate to properly recover from
the trauma she has suffered at the hands of others. It is also your job as an Alpha to thoroughly
investigate the accusation made by another. Especially when that person is a known criminal. You
failed as an Alpha, and as a mate. âFiona is suffering from a mental breakdown that is effecting her in
many ways. Having your mate by your side as you are experiencing such a horrific event is very
healing. At this time I am more than requesting your presence at the prison at least three times a week,
and that you do your job properly as quickly as possible to ensure Fiona is released from here. I am
also requesting that the true criminal, whom Fional said is named Chastity Bloomfield, pays for her
crimes as quickly as possible. Please let me know what days to begin expecting you so that I can
inform the warden. Thank you.â
âWhâ¦.wow! Iâ¦I..what are you going to do?â Chastity asked.
âI forwarded the email to my dad, Robert, the warden, and the head of the mental health department at
the prison. This is unprofessional. It makes me question this therapistâs qualifications if she disregarded
Fionaâs full file, all of the evidence against her, and believing Fionaâs delusions. She disregarded the
orders in the file to not contact any one from Moonlight pack, me especially It also makes me wonder
how she got my contact information as it was not included in any of Fionaâs documents.â
âAre you going to respond to that email?â
âNo. I need to let her bosses handle this situation as they see fit. Getting involved will not show that a
line was crossed. It is also not my place to reprimand her for this.â
âHow are you going to handle Fionaâs claims?â
âIâm not. I have faith that those she works for will sit her down, explain the situation in itâs entirety, have
her read the entire file, and have her watch the videos of Fionaâs confessions and trial. Going there
gives validity to Fionaâs claims which is not what any of us want.â
âI can see what youâre saying, and it does make sense. I just hope this doesnât push Fiona to do
something foolish.â
âUnfortunately we have to let Fiona make her own choices. We canât stop her, and she needs the kind
of help that intense therapy provides to realize her delusions are simply that.â
âThatâs true too.â
âAre you ok?â
âYes, and no.â
âTell me whatâs going on in that head, and heart of yours.â
âIâm angry that Fiona managed to convince someone to believe her. Iâm hurt that her therapist is
choosing to believe her over all of the evidence, and confessions. Iâm also hurt that sheâs trying to take
you away from me in anyway she can. Iâm also worried about her mental state pushing her to make a
choice she canât come back from. No one really knows just how bad her mental state really is. If
pushed too hard do we risk her hurting herself?â
âI understand your worries Chastity, I do, but if we react to this, and give her what she wants, or play
into her delusions, donât we risk that even more when she is forced to see the truth? If we even give her
the impression that we might play her game, when sheâs finally seeing the truth, couldnât that be more
damaging?â
âYeah. Thatâs true. I didnât think about that.â
âStaying out of it, and away is better for everyone. It doesnât help that I have no desire to see her for
even a moment. Because of her I almost lost you.â
âWellâ¦at the timeâ¦.â
âYes. I know. I fucked up, and I will spend my life making it up to you in every way I can.â
âI know, and youâve done a good job of doing that so far.â
âI hopeâ¦.â I was cut off by a knock at my door.
âCome in.â I called, and my dad walked into my room, laptop in hand, âHey dad.â
âIs this real?â Dad asked as he turned the screen to me to show me the email I just sent him.
âUnfortunately yes. I received it today.â
âDid you respond to it?â
âNo. I forwarded it to every one you see on that listâ
âGood. Do not respond to that or any future emails from thereâ
âShould I block the email address?â
âNot yet. I need to see if this female reaches out to you again
âOk. I want to know how she got my email addressâ
âI do as well. Have you told Chastity about this yet?â
âHi Joe.â Chastity called from my computer.
âOh. Hi Chassy girl. I guess that answers that.â My dad said with a chuckle.
âYeah. He read it to me.â Chastity responded.
âIâm sorry Chas. We tried to make sure Rowen couldnât be contacted.â
âI know. Itâs ok. I just hope this situation gets sorted out, and that Fiona can get the real help she
needs.â âBelieve me, we all do. Rowen, let me handle this from this point on. If you receive any further
contact forward the emails the same as you did with this one.â
âWill do dad. Thanks.â I responded as my dad headed to my door, âOh dad.â
âYeah?â My dad said as he turned back to me.
âUm⦠Theo might be a little upset with me in the morning.â
âWhy is that?â
âIâ¦umâ¦.sort of threw Trent out of here tonight.â
âRowen! Why did you do that?â
âHe insulted Chastity, and made some veiled threats to the surrounding Alphaâs.â
âThreats?â
âRemember, heâs only 16, and fairly immature, with a refusal to learn, but he basically thinks he can
take over the surrounding packs by overthrowing their Alphas, when he becomes Alpha.â
âThat boy. Iâll talk to Theo about this. I think he and Gloria have already decided to send him to Jeremy
for
training before Alpha school in two years.â
âThatâs probably for the best.â
âYeah. Well good night. Night Chastity.â
âNight Joe.â Chastity called out.
âNight dad.â
âYouâre evening has been more eventful than mine has. Thatâs for sure.â Chastity said with a giggle.
âNo joke. I hope thatâs the end of it. Why are you home this evening any way?â I asked.
âWell I had that paper. Also Norm, and Marcus are babysitting Normâs oldest brotherâs pups so he and
his wife can go on a date. Lexi, and Colby had a date tonight. Itâs the first one theyâve been able to go
on lately because of all of Colbyâs training.â
âSo a quiet night in for you?â
âWell I got to spend all of this time on video chat with you so I think itâs been a good night.â
âMe too sweet girl.â
âWhat are your plans for the rest of this weekend?â
âIâm having lunch with Clair, and Beth to do more training tomorrow. In the afternoon I have photo class.
with Norm. Tomorrow evening is drawing class with Lexi then dinner with everyone. Sunday Norm,
Lexi, and I are studying for another Anatomy exam.â
âSounds like a busy weekend.â
âYeah. What about you?â
âTomorrow morning is a final meeting with Theo, and hopefully his approval to take over the warrior
training program. We leave to head home tomorrow afternoon. Weâre driving back so we wonât get
home until sometime late Sunday.â
âThatâs a long time in a car.â
âYes it is. Dad, and I have been talking a bit about getting a small plane like Jeremy has, but weâre not
sure we want the expense, plus everything that comes with owning a plane.â
âHave you ever considered asking Jeremy, and Robert if, you started helping pay for the plane they
have, starting to share it with them? I know Dark Moon is 4 hours from home, but 4 hours in a car is
better than 6 or more.â
âWe havenât, but thatâs not a half bad idea. Iâll suggest it to dad, and see what he says. Thanks for the
ideaâ
âYouâre welcome. When do you think youâll be able to come here for a visit next?â
âIâm hoping for next weekend.â
âOk. I can see about wait. Next weekend is the Halloween party.â
âItâs on Friday. I can come Saturday, and stay until Monday morning when you head to class.â
âOh ok. Iâll put in the request of the pass tomorrow.â
âGreat. When do you think you can come home next?â
âUnfortunately not until the week of Thanksgiving. The next few weeks are going to be pretty intense.
Iâm sorry.â
âItâs ok. Really. Weâll have the whole week for Thanksgiving.â
âYes, and 2 weeks for Christmas and New Years.â
âI canât wait. Do you know what you want for Christmas?â
âNot a clue. The last Christmas gift I received was from Jax, and I was 13 at the time.â
âOh. Iâm sorry.â
âItâs not your fault.â
âI know. I justâ¦.â
âRowen, donât. The past canât be changed, and it effects me enough as it is. Lets focus on the present,
and the future, please.â
âOk. I can do that.â
âWhat do you want for Christmas?â
âJust you.â
âWell I will be there.â
âI know.â
We continued to talk for awhile longer until I noticed Chastity starting to yawn more and more. She
looked like she was about ready to pass out. After some coaxing she finally signed off, and went to
bed. I had to admit that I was worried about how the email from Fionaâs therapist would effect her. I
really hoped it wouldnât effect her negatively, and that she could really shrug it off the way she seemed
to during our chat. I guess time would tell.
