Chapter 388
The Number One Star in the Interstellar Era
Chapter 388: A DAY OF CONGRATULATIONS
âWOW thatâs great, Snow!â
âCongratulations!â
Kiran and Astrid said at the same time. A beautiful smile bloomed on Snowâs face. The cold winter completely turning into spring.
âThank you,â Snow said. âItâs just a small role though.â
âDonât say. Thereâs no small role in acting. As long as you do your part and leave a deep impression on the audience, then thatâs more than enough,â Astrid said.
âThatâs right,â Kiran seconded. âAn opportunity, no matter how small, could turn into something big as long as you do your best to make it that way.â
Snow nodded, agreeing with the two. Thatâs why even though the role he had gotten was small, he was very excited about it. Just like the two said, the role might be small but if he showed a great performance, the audience would definitely appreciate it. Then, it could be another chance for him to get another role.
â¦..
âBut what role is it? Is it for a TV series or for a movie?â Astrid asked.
âItâs for a web series actually thatâs currently airing right now. I donât know if youâve heard of the series, itâs called [Noble Lawyer]. I will be playing the victim on the episode that will air about two weeks from now.â
[Noble Lawyer] was a web series that started right after [Blind Justice] popularity started to rise. It was produced by a streaming service that was in rivalry with the streaming service where the latter was being aired. They produced [Noble Lawyer] in the hopes that it could fight with [Blind Justice].
The intention was so obvious that many fans of [Blind Justice] made a fuss and the series drew flack before it even started. Especially since the synopsis of the show showed a great similarity to [Blind Justice].
Itâs about a lawyer who represented people in court who were disadvantaged in life. He helped them get the justice that they deserved. Itâs almost the same as the purpose of the main cast of [Blind Justice]. The only difference was, in [Noble Lawyer], the main character used the law instead of being a vigilante to attain justice.
So, one could imagine just how much negative reaction it received. But surprisingly enough, most of those negative reaction disappeared the moment the first episode aired. Because it showed just how different it was from [Blind Justice].
For one, the protagonist of [Noble Lawyer] was in fact a very rich noble who disguised himself as a commoner so he could work as a lawyer. He used his abundant riches and money to gather evidence and bring the criminals to justice. But it wasnât just that. The lead actor was very good. His charm quickly won the hearts of the audience.
Just like [Blind Justice], itâs a weekly web series that had different case each episode. And for almost a year of airing, they had maintain a loyal audience and following.
This was the reason why Snow didnât hesitate to audition when he saw the audition notice on the showâs official website. Because he knew that guesting in such a show could help in his career now that he was only starting.
âOh, Iâve heard of it. Itâs a pretty popular show, isnât it?â Astrid said.
âIâve also watched a couple of episodes of that show,â Kiran said. âThe main character is a pretty funny.â
âYes. Itâs just a shame that we donât have any scene together. Itâs would definitely be fun to act with him,â Snow commented with a bit of regret.
The whole script of the episode was already sent to him. He had already memorized everything. Since the role of the victim in the episode was already dead at the start, he mostly appeared in flashbacks. So, he and the main character didnât meet at all.
âWill someone accompany you to the filming site?â Astrid asked with a bit of worried tone. After all, Snow still didnât have an entertainment company or agency to represent him.
âDonât worry, I have that covered,â Snow answered.
Or rather, his father had that covered. The other would surely send an assistant that could also act as a bodyguard. After that kidnapping incident, his father became even more protective. As evidence of the bodyguards secretly following and guarding him whenever or wherever.
In fact, his father even wanted to set up an entertainment agency to handle his career. But Snow drew the line on that. Because it wouldnât be any different from his father handing everything to him on a silver platter.
âI also have a good news,â Kiran said.
Both Astrid and Snow turned to him, asking what it was.
âI signed a contract with Polaris to produce and compose five songs for them,â Kiran said with a big grin.
âCongratulations!â both Astrid and Snow said at the same time.
âIs the contract satisfactory though?â Snow asked in concern. Heâs not saying that Polaris would scam Kiran. Heâs just worried that Kiran would have missed some elements in the contract that could prove disadvantageous for him in the long run.
âOh yes,â Kiran said with no hesitation. âThe commission fee is extremely good for someone like me who hadnât made his name yet. Most importantly, I still get to keep the copyright for the song.â
âDonât worry, Snow. Iâm not saying this because Iâm signed under them, but Polaris has a very fair management,â Astrid added as if he knew what Snow was worried about. âI canât say this for everyone working there, but at least majority of them wonât take advantage of a newbie musician.â
Kiran, as if only realizing now that Snow was worried that he might be duped, quickly said, âYes, Snow, donât worry. All the people from Polaris I talked to has been very kind.â
Snow smiled helplessly. âThen, Iâm glad.â
Astrid then poured tea for the three of them. âSince today seemed to be a day for congratulations, should we make a toast?â He lifted his tea cup. âTo a successful future!â
The two also raised their cups and said at the same time, âTo a successful future!â
