Chapter 472 UNEXPECTED CALL
The Number One Star in the Interstellar Era
THE meeting went on for a few hours. Everything went smoothly, since everyone seemed to be on the same page.
Director Hale assured that since Whale Studio would be the one producing and distributing the movie, there wouldnât be any worry about them interfering with the shooting or the casting. Itâs because Whale Studio was known to not interfere with production of any of their movies. Unless itâs truly necessary.
The only downside of having them produced the movie would be that most of the cast would certainly be newcomers or unknown actors. This was to cut on talent fees that could be very well put to the production cost. Which meant that the audition would be held for the other roles. Unless, of course, the writer would suggest another actor or actress for a certain role, like she did with Astrid.
Ellis and a representative from Whale Studio would discuss Astridâs fee for this movie. He wasnât worried about that since he knew that Ellis would get him the best deal he could get in this situation.
According to Director Hale, auditions would probably last for a month or so. It really depended on how fast they could get the right actors for the roles. Depending on that, the start of production would begin either before the year ended or right after the beginning of next year.
Since [The Great War] had 35 episodes that aired twice a week, it would take a bit over four months before the last episode would air. So, by the time [Serendipitous Summer] was released, it would probably be just right after [The Great War] finished broadcasting.
The timing was simply perfect.
After the pleasant meeting, they all parted ways in a good mood.
Since Astrid no longer had any schedule for the day, Ellis drove him back to his apartment.
On their way thereâ¦
âWhat do you think?â Ellis asked.
Astrid didnât need to ask what sheâs pertaining to. She could only mean the meeting just now.
âWell, as long as they picked the right actress for the role of âAbbyâ, I think this movie wouldnât be a critical and box-office flop,â he said honestly.
Because the source material was already that good. As long as the scriptwriter adapting the novel, and the director in charge didnât fumble up, then thereâs no way a bad movie would be produced. So, the only possible source of problem would be the cast. Even that could be avoided as long as they picked the right people for the job.
From the meeting earlier, it was said that One Leaf would be there herself for the audition process. Which meant that those who fit the roles of her characters would be the only ones to pass. Thatâs definitely already a huge guarantee. After all, One Leaf was someone who didnât even want a live adaptation of her work. That was until she met Astrid.
This meant that the other was stubborn enough to hold on to what she wanted. With her attitude towards her own work, there was no way she would allow its adaptation to be ruined.
âI agree,â Ellis said with a nod. âThe right actor for the role of âAbbyâ would audition.â
âDo you think thereâs someone from Polaris who might fit this role?â he thought of asking.
âHmm⦠Iâm not sure. Youâre the only rookie actor who debuted from Polaris this year. But since its Polaris, thereâs definitely some talents who had signed to the agency but hadnât made their debut yet. Since Whale Studio would send audition notice to different agencies, some from Polaris would probably go and audition.â
Astrid had the same opinion. It would be good if the role of âAbbyâ would go to someone from the same agency. Since theyâre from Polaris, the acting would at least be legit.
He was about to say his opinion when his Terminal rang. Itâs the notification sound when someone was requesting a video call.
He wondered who it was. And strangely enough, his first thought was Wulfric. He shook his head at the silliness of it, considering that the other must still be busy doing his mission right now.
He opened his Terminal and was quite surprised when he saw the name on the virtual screen.
Cassius Grimaldi.
He raised his brow. Even though the other knew his Terminal number, the only time Casey actively contacted him was when he asked him and Reas to meet for dinner. Which was just after that hostage-taking incident. Even during the EMMA ad photoshoot, Casey didnât actively contact him like this.
Still, he clicked the accept button and answered the call. The otherâs handsome face quickly appeared on the virtual screen.
âGood afternoon, Aster!â Casey greeted with a bright smile.
Astrid almost raised his brow. Why was this person suddenly calling him by his nickname? But he just ignored that since itâs more important to know why the other called.
âMay I know why Uncle Casey called?â
A startled expression appeared on Caseyâs face when he called him âUncleâ, as if he didnât expect it. Actually, he also didnât think that there would come a day when he would call the other that. But surprisingly, it was much easier than he thought. Probably because he didnât really dislike Casey. n0????????????????????????.????0????
A pleased smile appeared on Caseyâs face. âThere would be a official launch party for the [Eros] perfume line three days from now. I hope that Aster could go and attend the party.â
Oh, a launch party. Astrid didnât think that there would be one. But then again, considering this was a luxury brand, there definitely should be one.
âOf course, Iâll go.â
Since heâs the brand ambassador for this perfume line, wouldnât it look bad if he didnât?
An even brighter smile appeared on Caseyâs face. âGreat! Then Iâll see you at the party.â
âYes, see you then.â
Then ended the call after that.
âThat Lord Cassius seemed to really like you,â Ellis commented. Since the other was sitting not far from him, of course, she heard their conversation.
Astrid could hear the worry in Ellisâ voice when she said that. So, he could only assure the other, âDonât worry, Sister Ellis. That person, he doesnât have any bad thoughts about me.â
