Chapter 3 Beach Meet Up

No one's POV

After leaving himself, Nhazul stopped by the store to pick up a few things. After leaving, he could hear someone calling him.

???: Nhazi!

Nhazul looked back behind him, seeing Mami, narrowing his eyes.

Nhazul: What do you want?

Mami looked away, blushing a bit.

Mami: It's a bit late. My place isn't far from here... Think you can walk me home...?

Nhazul didn't say anything, reluctantly walking her home, due to it being late. Upon walking her to her house door, she leaned on the door, blushing.

Mami: You know, it's pretty late walk home. If you were alright with it... I wouldn't mind if you spent the night... My parents and brother are away right now...

Nhazul: ...

Nhazul didn't say anything, looking at her house.

Nhazul's thoughts: This is the first time I've ever seen her house... She was always so adamant on not taking me here...

Mami: Nhazi...

Nhazul turned his attention back to Mami, who had grabbed his hand, looking at him with pleading eyes.

Mami: Please...?

Nhazul began to feel his chest get tight, looking at Mami. He began to contemplate going inside with her, however he only took his hand away from hers, walking away. As he did, Mami just looked down saddened.

Mami: ...

(Timeskip)

After making his way back home, Nhazul was getting ready to walk into his apartment, before looking at Chizuru's door.

Nhazul: ...

(Flashback)

Zane: I know this is something you've been holding onto for ever 2 years. But you just need to drop it and forget about her. This animosity you have towards her and women now as a whole isn't going to do you any good in the long run.

(Flashback)

Chizuru: You should have told her off more.

Nhazul: That so...?

Chizuru: Yeah. I gave her a piece of my mind too.

Nhazul: And who asked you to?

Chizuru looked at Nhazul surprised.

Chizuru: Huh?

Nhazul: I said who asked you to? I didn't ask you to, so mind your damn business....

Chizuru just looked at Nhazul offended.

Chizuru: What the hell is your problem?! I was trying to be nice!

Nhazul just chuckled.

Nhazul: Trying to be nice, huh...? Then let me ask you this... Were you being nice to be genuine, or because your were playing a part?

Chizuru looked at Nhazul even more offended, before she walked past him leaving, without saying a word.

Nhazul: ...

(Present)

Nhazul continued to look at the door and sighed annoyed. Suddenly, he heard walking and saw Chizuru walking up. The two stared at each other, before Nhazul spoke up.

Nhazul: Sorry. For early.

Chizuru: I'm not mad or anything. At least not anymore. I'm your rental girlfriend after all. But despite that, I was being genuine before.

Nhazul: I see.

Chizuru: But I get it. At first I thought you were just bitter about your Ex, but after tonight, I can tell that it left some very deep emotional scars.

Nhazul: ...

Chizuru: But like I said before. There's no one alive who doesn't get lonely. Just a lot of people good at hiding it. The fact that you're unable to let go shows how much you care. Much better then a relationship you can easily forget.

Nhazul: ...

Chizuru: Do you want to try and continue with the rentals? Some nights you may want to die if you don't have company, and some goodbyes can only be healed by a "see you again". If you want, I can give you both.

Nhazul looked at Chizuru, before chuckling.

Nhazul: I've gotten by just fine on my own. Still... If you're still being genuine, thanks.

Chizuru: Of course. But...

Nhazul: But?

Chizuru: Would you like to pay the extension fee now, or at a later date before next week?

Nhazul just looked at Chizuru now annoyed.

Nhazul: ...-_-... You little...

(Timeskip)

It's currently the weekend of summer break, and Nhazul was in a car, with Zane, and more of their friends.

Nhazul: ...-_-... Is there any particular reason why I'm here?

Zane: Yeah. Same group as last time and all.

Nhazul: And you don't think it'll be a repeat of last time?

Zane: You'd be surprised actually. Mani was the one who wanted to invite you. She said she wouldn't go if you didn't.

Nhazul just narrowed his eyes.

Nhazul: That so.

Upon arriving, everyone went to their hotel rooms to get changed, and went to the beach. As everyone was playing in the water, Nhazul was sitting in a beach chair, looking at his phone.

Nhazul: ...

Mami: Nhazi!

Nhazul looked up and saw Mami in front of him, offering him a drink.

Mami: Well? Enjoying yourself?

Nhazul didn't say anything to her, returning to his phone. Mami just sighed, sitting next to Nhazul in the other chair.

Mami: I'm sorry about the other day. We may have been drinking, but I shouldn't have said all that. That was insensitive of me...

Nhazul: That's nice. I'm so glad you're apologizing for telling lies.

Mami: When you left, your date chewed me out. And she was absolutely right. I was being awful.

Nhazul: There's no "was". You still are.

Mami looked down saddened, but soon spoke up again.

Mami: We made so many memories when we were dating... Do you remember our first kiss? Where it happened?

Nhazul didn't say anything for a few seconds, before speaking up.

Nhazul: At the park... the day we officially started dating...

Mami: You remember! I'm glad. We used to do everything together, play games together, go on silly dates, talk about getting married one day and having kids.

Hearing, Nhazul clinched his fist annoyed, glaring at her.

Nhazul: Why are you even bringing it up, it doesn't even matter anymore.

Nhazul got up and went to take a walk, going bathroom in the nearby store. He then proceeded to hit his head on the wall, trying to get his head straight.

Nhazul: Get it together...! Why am I falling for this...?! She's just trying to get in my head...! She's a lier... Everything she says a lie...

Nhazul then began thinking about the times he and Mami dated.

Nhazul: Damn it...! Fuck off...! These damn lingering feelings... I don't still love her...! I want nothing to do with her...!

Suddenly, Nhazul heard the door open and close.

Nhazul: S-Sorry, I forget to lock the-

Nhazul looked back to see Chizuru, completely shocking both of them.

Nhazul: ...-_-... You're starting to piss me off now...

Chizuru: I should say the same to you! Why are you here?!

Nhazul: Why are you?!

Chizuru: My friends wanted to hit the beach, and I was forced to tag along.

Nhazul just sighed annoyed.

Nhazul: Whatever, let's just go before-

Mami: Nhazi?

Suddenly the two of them heard Mami, shocking them.

Nhazul's thoughts: ...-_-... Is the universe just out to get me or something....?!

Nhazul quickly walked out, closing the door, looking at Mami annoyed.

Nhazul: What the hell do you want?

Mami: You've been gone for awhile, so I decided to check on him.

Nhazul: ...-_-... As you can see, I'm fine. Now screw off.

Mami just pouted at Nhazul, looking at the door.

Mami: Is someone else inside? I heard voices.

Nhazul: I was on the phone.

Mami looked at Nhazul with a skeptical look.

Mami: I see... Well, could you let me in? I need to use the-

Suddenly, the two heard movement from inside the bathroom.

Nhazul's thoughts: Of course...

Mami then attempted to open up the door, but suddenly Chizuru walked out in her swimsuit and in Girlfriend mode, shocking Mami.

Chizuru: We meet again. It's me Chizuru Mizuhara.

Mami: You again?

Suddenly, Zane and Sai walked in, seeing the three of them.

Sai: Huh? Chizuru?

Zane: You're here? Nhazul said you couldn't make it.

Chizuru: Y-Yes... I'm, uh, visiting family and I ran into Nhazul when I had some free time...

Zane: Oh, that so. Sounds like you and Nhazul are hitting it off.

Nhazul: Y-Yeah...

Mami just looked at Chizuru, before looking at her boobs, and then her own,

quickly zipping up her hoodie, making Chizuru look at her confused.

Mami: I'm glad you're here. I've been wanting to apologize about last time. I'm sorry.

Chizuru: Oh, I'm sorry about what I said, too.

Mami: Oh shoot! I need to make a phone call! Be back soon!

As Mami left, the four of them bought snacks to take back, but Chizuru pulled Nhazul to the side.

Chizuru: I need to leave. Think of an excuse for me. We can't risk it anymore.

Nhazul: ...-_-... You're the one who came out in Girlfriend mode...

Chizuru: What choice did I have?! They would have saw my other side.

Mami: What, sneaking off to talk?

The two looked back to see Mami standing there.

Mami: You two are so lovey dovey. Come on, let's go.

As Mami walked off, Nhazul just sighed.

Nhazul: Just play along for now, I'll think of something.

(Timeskip)

After returning to the others, Chizuru was playing cards with the others, while Nhazul was in the water, sighing.

Nhazul's thoughts: This weekend just keeps getting more and more on my nerves...

Mami: Nhazi!

Nhazul's thoughts: Case and point...

Nhazul: What do you want?

Mami: Can you come over here?

Nhazul: If you plan on bringing up the past, don't bother. I'm done talking.

Mami: Please! I really need your help...!

Nhazul just sighed annoyed, going over to her, see her searching the water for something.

Nhazul: ...-_-... What...?

Mami: My bracelet! I lost my bracelet and can't find it!

Nhazul: Bracelet?

Mami: The one you gave me for my birthday!

Nhazul looked at Mami surprised.

Nhazul: You still have that?

Mami: Yes, I do! Please help me find it!

Nhazul looked at Mami, seeing genuine panic and fear on her face and sighed, before helping her look. After around 2 minutes, Nhazul found it caught on a rock underwater.

Nhazul: Here.

Mami's eyes widened, grabbing the bracelet with tears in her eyes

Mami: Thank god...

Nhazul continued to look at Mami, seeing her relieved. He just sighed and started to walk away.

Mami: Nhazul...?

Nhazul: What no-

As Nhazul turned around, his immediately met by Mami, who leaned in, kissing him, making his eyes widened, surprised.

Nhazul's thoughts: Huh...? She's kissing me...? Why...?

Nhazul's hands began to shake.

Nhazul's thoughts: Get away...!

Nhazul started thinking about his old relationship with Mami.

Nhazul's thoughts: Push her away...!

Nhazul proceeded to think back to them spending time together.

Nhazul's thoughts: Get away...Get away from her...

Nhazul began to wrap his arms around Mami, as she did the same, kissing her back, with her melting into it.
