Chapter 4 A Friend And Girlfriend

No one's POV

Nhazul continued to look at Mami, seeing her relieved. He then sighed and started to walk away.

Mami: Nhazul...?

Nhazul: What no-

As Nhazul turned around, his immediately met by Mami, who leaned in, kissing him, making his eyes widened, shocked.

Nhazul's thoughts: Huh...? She's kissing me...?! Why...?

Nhazul's hands began to shake.

Nhazul's thoughts: Get away...!

Nhazul started thinking about his old relationship with Mami.

Nhazul's thoughts: Push her away...!

Nhazul proceeded to think back to them spending time together.

Nhazul's thoughts: Get away...Get away from her...

Nhazul began to wrap his arms around Mami, as she did the same, kissing her back, with her melting into it. As the continued to kiss, it began getting more heated, as Mami reached into Nhazul's trunks. But thinking back to that day, the day Mami cheated on him and broke his heart, made his eyes widened, pushing her away and against the rock, holding her hands above her head, making her yelp.

Nhazul: ...

Mami: ...

Nhazul couldn't help but look at her body, as Mami didn't say anything and looked down.

Mami: I'm sorry, Nhazi... I couldn't control myself anymore...

Nhazul didn't say anything, looking at her, as he let go of her and started to walk away from her.

Mami: ...

(Timeskip)

A few minutes after Nhazul and Mami briefly made out, the two returned separately to the others, as they began playing cards, one of the girls noticed Chizuru's face was red.

Girl#2: Hey, your face looks a bit flushed.

Chizuru: Oh, I'm just feeling kind of warm...

Mami: Your turn, Zane.

Zane: Alright. What are my options here?

Nhazul glanced over at Mami.

Nhazul's thoughts: What is with her...? First she bad mouths and acts like I'm the bad guy and then switches to this...?

Suddenly, Nhazul's phone started to ring, and it was Leo. Nhazul walked away to go answer and was met by Leo crying.

Leo: Big bro! I lost again! This boss is too cheap!

Nhazul: ...-_-... Did you call me just for that?

Leo: No. Mom and dad told me to let you know I'm being discharged next week!

Nhazul looked surprised.

Nhazul: Wait, you are?! That's great.

Leo: Yeah! Hopefully I don't need to come back anytime soon. I get to see you and your girlfriend more often!

Nhazul just sighed.

Nhazul: Yeah...

After hanging up, Nhazul just sighed again.

Nhazul's thoughts: Nosey little brat... Why are you so worried about my love life...? I hate lying to you about this...

After making his way back to the others, they were prying and asking Chizuru tons of questions, as well as trying to hang out at her mansion she doesn't own.

Zane: Alright, all of you. Stop putting her on the spot like this.

Chizuru glanced over at Nhazul, as he just sighed.

Nhazul's thoughts: Sorry, Leo. But this ends now.

Nhazul then glanced at Mami.

Nhazul's thoughts: I don't think the old me will ever come back. I can't trust another relationship again...

Nhazul: There's something Chizuru and I wanted to tell you all. We've decided to not officially date and just see other people, right?

Chizuru looked at Nhazul surprised, but spoke up.

Chizuru: Yeah..

The others just looked at them surprised.

Sai: Really? How come?

Nhazul: We just think we're not compatible as we thought.

Chizuru: ...

Without saying a word, Zane stood up from his chair, looked at Nhazul and without warning punched him in the face, surprising everyone.

Mami: Nhazi!

Nhazul just looked at Zane annoyed.

Nhazul: The hell is your problem?

Zane: My problem is with you! I'm sick of this shit you keep pulling.

Nhazul: Oh, is that so!

Nhazul retaliated at Zane, punching him back in the face. As the two proceeded to fight and trade blows, the others tried breaking them up.

Zane: Will you just open your fucking eyes for just a second?!

Nhazul: Huh?!

Zane: Don't think I haven't noticed, you've been so worried about Mami and not Chizuru! I understand how you feel and how you felt about Mami, but you need to move on not waste this opportunity in front of you! I'm trying to do this for your own good!

Nhazul's eyes widened, thinking everything he done with Mami, once again stopping at moment where he caught her cheating on him. Now becoming enraged, Nhazul punched Zane to the ground.

Nhazul: You know how I feel...? HOW I FEEL?!?! You don't know anything!!! You're still with the girl you love! She didn't cheat on you!!! She didn't rip out your heart!!! She didn't destroy your trust in relationships!!! So don't fucking preach to me like you know what I'm going through!!!

Nhazul and Zane just looked at each other, before Nhazul walked away from everyone. As he did, Zane looked over at Mani, narrowing his eyes.

Zane: Don't act like you're innocent in any of this. Just because I don't bring up old drama, doesn't mean I forgot about it. You're the reason why he's like this. So stop toying with someone you cheated on.

Mami didn't say anything, looking away.

Mami: You talk like you know the full story...

Zane: I know enough.

Mami: ...

As Mami just continued to look away, Chizuru looked back at Nhazul.

Chizuru: ...

(Timeskip)

After Nhazul walked off from everyone, had leaned on a fence, spitting blood from his mouth.

Nhazul: ...

Chizuru: Nice job.

Nhazul looked over and saw Chizuru walking up to him, standing next to him.

Nhazul: You're still here?

Chizuru: You didn't do anything wrong in my eyes. They don't know the full story. Of course they don't get it.

Nhazul just chuckled.

Nhazul: Even though that asshole was the one who started all this...

Chizuru looked at Nhazul's face, seeing his bruises, rubbing his face.

Chizuru: Anyway, are you alright? It looks like that hurts...

Nhazul: I'm fine. But next week will be the last. My little brother is being discharged.

Chizuru: That's good to hear.

Nhazul: Yep.

Chizuru: My Grandmom is getting discharged next week too.

Nhazul: That so.

Chizuru: This is the perfect time to end this.

Nhazul: Yeah.

Chizuru: It won't take people long to forget that we were ever a thing.

Nhazul just looked at Chizuru, and then back of into the distance.

Nhazul: Yeah.

Chizuru: But what it's worth, despite this being a job and you being an asshole, it was fun. I had fun, really.

Nhazul just looked at Chizuru, surprised to tell she was being genuine, making him smirk and chuckle, before walking off.

Nhazul: Wow. You're something else.

Chizuru just watched Nhazul leave, before sighing.

Chizuru: Dumbass...

(Timeskip)

It's been 20 minutes since the fight, and Nhazul was currently walking down the sidewalk, drinking a drink, when he noticed Zane with Chizuru, the two sitting together.

Nhazul's thoughts: What are they doing together?

Zane: So you two aren't going to date?

Chizuru: N-No, we aren't...

Zane: That's unfortunate. I've known Nhazul since we were kids. He was always popular with girls, to the point where he could have a girl slung over each of his arms.

Chizuru: R-Really...?

Zane: Yeah. But he was never like that. Always respectful of them. When I saw him with you, I thought he had finally returned to his old self.

Chizuru: His old self? I guess you mean-

Zane: Yeah. Before he was cheated on by Mami.. They loved each other more then anything, they dated all throughout high school. He actually wanted to marry her someday. But that moment broke him, her cheating on him broke him and changed him for the worse. He became bitter and spiteful towards women and refused to date. That betrayal gave him real trust issues. Honestly, that bitter and spitefulness is just a defensive mechanism for him.

Chizuru: I see.

Zane: Sai and I tried to help him out by setting him up on a blind date on this Rent a Girlfriend app in hopes he'd get back out there. I thought we succeeded, but then earlier happened. It's a mix between his lingering feelings for Mami and his inability to trust women again. He was right and saying I don't know what it's like.

Chizuru: Hmm?

Zane: Despite her studying in America, my girlfriend and I are still going strong. I don't know the feeling of betrayal like he does. It's because of that, because I can see how painful it is, I'm trying to help him move on and trust again.

Chizuru: I see...

Nhazul: ...

Zane: When you stood up for him at the pub, I thought he'd found someone to help him heal. I don't know what you both talked about, but I'm sure his trust issues were clouding his judgment, so I hope you can just give him a chance. I'm positive you won't regret it. Despite the facade he puts up, he's a good guy.

Chizuru: ...

Nhazul: ...

Zane proceeded to pull out to ferry tickets, giving them to Chizuru.

Zane: Here. I won these earlier when we were buying things. I figured you both could use some alone time.

Chizuru: Oh, I couldn't possibly accept them!

Zane: Nah, don't worry about it.

Suddenly, they heard footsteps, and saw Nhazul walking up to them.

Zane: Nhazul?

Nhazul looked at Zane and sighed, rubbing his head.

Nhazul: Look... I'm sorry... About earlier...

Zane just chuckled.

Zane: Don't worry about it. But I'll leave you two to talk.

As Zane left the two of them, Chizuru handed him a ticket.

Chizuru: Here. This one's yours.

Nhazul: You know you don't have to-

Chizuru: I'll go.

Nhazul: Huh?!

Chizuru: I can't say no after that speech he gave. If it's just us, we won't have to worry about putting on an act.

Nhazul just rolled his eyes.

Nhazul: If you say so.

Chizuru: But this really is the last time. Zane doesn't know our situation, so he'll accept it if you tell him we talked it out and decided to not date.

Nhazul: Yeah.

Chizuru: It's the last time. After this, we're done.

Nhazul: ...-_-... I get it...!

(Timeskip)

After making their way to the ferry, the two got on and Nhazul was quick to notice Chizuru was acting strange.

Nhazul: What's wrong with you? Are you sick?

Chizuru: I'm fine... It'll go away after a night's rest. I'm more then happy doing this to help get our story straight... I don't want this whole thing hanging over future jobs.

Nhazul just rolled his eyes.

Nhazul: Whatever you say. In any case, just go sit down somewhere. You're clearly sick and look like shit.

Chizuru: Oh why thank you... That's exactly what I wanted to hear.

Nhazul: You're welcome.

As Chizuru went to walk towards the inside, Nhazul leaned on the rail, getting a text from Mami.

Nhazul's thoughts: What does she want now...?

Nhazul opened the text and saw Mami wanted to meet him in her hotel room alone so they could talk about something important.

Nhazul's thoughts: Important?

Nhazul just looked at the text, contemplating if he should answer or not. But just as he was making his decision, he suddenly heard a load splash and people yelling.

Nhazul: Huh?

Man: Someone fell off!

Woman: A girl! She was wearing a white top and had long brown hair!

Hearing that description, Nhazul's eyes widened completely shocked, before he looked annoyed.

Nhazul: Oh for fuck sakes...!

Dropping his phone,

Nhazul jumped onto a rail and Immediately leapt into the water in order to save Chizuru.
