Chapter 7 Provisional

No one's POV

Currently, Nhazul was still faced to face with Ruka, after he found her waiting for him down the subway.

Ruka: Can I take this to mean you're admitting it, Mr Fake boyfriend?

Nhazul: I don't know, you tell me, Miss Rental girlfriend?

Upon hearing this, Ruka would look at Nhazul surprised.

Ruka: What?! How do you know that?!

Nhazul: ...-_-... I mean for starters, you just confirmed it, so thanks for that.

Ruka just looked at Nhazul annoyed, as he continued to talk.

Nhazul: But even without your confirmation, I could tell. Just from the way you acted and your mannerisms with Sai, it's easy to tell.

Ruka: You can only know that if you've been with a rental girlfriend! So you admit it.

Nhazul: There's no point of trying to hide it, when you're this adamant on trying to figure it out.

Ruka: Then that's all I need to hear. We're done here.

As Ruka went to walk away, Nhazul narrowed his eyes.

Nhazul: No we aren't. We're not down here!

Ruka: Don't follow-

As Nhazul attempted to grab Ruka's shoulder, she turned around and he accidentally grabbed her boob, surprising them both, as Ruka started blushing intensely.

Nhazul's thoughts: ...-_-... Of course she would turn around...

Without warning, Ruka hit Nhazul in the face with her bag.

Ruka: Pervert!

Nhazul: Owwww!!!

Ruka: Faking a girlfriend! Stalking! Sexual harassment! You're found guilty on all three charges!

Nhazul: And you'll be found guilty for fucking assault!

As Ruka continued to leave, Nhazul followed her outside.

Nhazul: I said wait, damn it!

Ruka: Stop following me!

Nhazul: Then just listen! Why are you even worried about this anyway?

Ruka: Because I was told you two were a tight couple, but then I learned she was a rental, so I just wanted to mess with you.

Nhazul's thoughts: ...-_-... So she was just being petty... I can't even be mad, I'd do the same.

Nhazul: How did you even find out? I assume it's because it's because you're a rental too.

Ruka: Yeah, that's right.

Nhazul just sighed annoyed.

Nhazul: Can you just keep your mouth shut about this?

Ruka: I bet you rented her for some shallow reason, anyway. So why does it matter if people find out?

Nhazul: Because I have my reasons for keeping this lie going and so does Chizuru.

Ruka: It just sounds like an excuse to me...

Nhazul: Well it isn't. I'm doing this as to not disappoint someone important to me. Someone I can't disappoint...

Ruka just looked at Nhazul surprised, being able to tell he was being genuine and not lying, but started getting a bit offended.

Ruka: Jeez, what is your deal?!

Nhazul: Huh?

Ruka: I was so sure that people who went for rental girlfriends were shallow and superficial!

As Ruka attempted to leave again, she almost ran into an older woman. Moving out the way, she tripped and was about to fall down the stairs.

Nhazul: Shit!

Nhazul quickly grabbed Ruka's hand, and shifted positions with her, taking the full brunt of falling down the stairs instead of Ruka, shielding her, shocking her.

Nhazul: Are you alright...?

Ruka just continued to look at Nhazul surprised, as she blushed like crazy, quickly getting off of him.

Ruka: W-What are you doing?!

Nhazul: Despite how much a pain in the ass you're being, I'm not going to let fall down the stairs....

Ruka just continued to look at Nhazul surprised, while she was still blushing.

Nhazul: Can you just keep quiet about this?

Ruka: ...

Ruka didn't say anything to Nhazul, still blushing before walking away. Nhazul just sighed annoyed, and attempted to get up, but felt an extremely sharp pain in his left arm.

Nhazul: Ahh!

Nhazul looked at his hand, seeing it was extremely swollen and turning purple.

Nhazul: Of course....

It's later in the night, and after Nhazul left the hospital, with a now broken wrist, he made his way home after getting it looked at and casted. He was met by Chizuru who was waiting outside.

Nhazul: What are you doing out here?

After meeting up with Chizuru, the two went to a 24 hour dinner, and Nhazul told her about Ruka, surprising her.

Chizuru: Huh?! She's a rental girlfriend?!

Nhazul: Yep. I'm surprised you couldn't tell.

Chizuru: Which agency's she with? I'm going to complain!

Nhazul's thoughts: ...-_-... You mean to tell me there's more then one agency for this...?

Chizuru: There are things you just can't do, putting a fellow pro at risk is one of them!

Nhazul: ...-_-... "Pro"?

As Chizuru looked through her phone, she eventually found Ruka's profile.

Chizuru: Found her! "Ruka Sarashina, a younger sister idol girlfriend". She's with an agency that operates within Tokyo, huh? I was curious about how she found out, but it makes sense if she's a rental girlfriend. She's probably searched my name before.

Nhazul: I guess that does make sense. Especially given how much you charge for a date...

Chizuru just looked at Nhazul annoyed, before she looked down at his wrist that now had a cast on it.

Chizuru: How's your hand?

Nhazul: Doctors said it's a simple fracture. I'll have to wear this for 6 to 12 weeks.

Chizuru then started pouting, annoyed as if she was a bit jealous.

Chizuru: Aren't you just a knight in shining armor...

Nhazul: What are you going on about?

Chizuru just looked away annoyed.

Chizuru: It's nothing.

Nhazul just rolled his eyes and spoke up.

Nhazul: From the sounds of it, Sai isn't going to rent her again, so we don't have to worry about him.

Chizuru: Still, we should keep an eye on her. I can't have my grandma finding out about this job. There's no guarantee that girl won't change her mind.

Nhazul: Yeah, yeah. Also, one more thing.

Chizuru: What is it?

Nhazul: ...-_-... I hope you don't try to make me pay for a date. Technically you're the one who brought me here...

Chizuru then started blushing, before standing up annoyed.

Chizuru: I'm leaving! This was an emergency!

Nhazul: Uh huh...

(Timeskip)

It's the next day and as Nhazul was walking through the college building, he realized he left his phone charging in the classroom. After sneaking back in, Nhazul picked up his phone, but was immediately met by the voice of someone familiar.

???: Nhazul! I found you!

Nhazul looked back behind surprised to see Ruka, smiling at him happily.

Nhazul: ...-_-... Why are you here...?

Ruka: Anyway can waltz into a college campus, huh?

Nhazul: ...-_-...No, they couldn't. That's called trespassing...

Ruka: Maybe they thought I was a student...

Nhazul: ...-_-... Dressed in a high school uniform...

Ruka: This is just a costume.

Nhazul: ...-_-... Doubt.

Ruka: Well, I'm here to see you, Nhazul.

Nhazul: Why? Actually, no, first of all. If you want to talk, let's do it off campus!

Ruka just outstretched her hands to Nhazul.

Ruka: Give me a hug.

Nhazul: ...-_-... I'm sorry?

Ruka: It was at 79. Almost there.

Nhazul just looked at Ruka confused.

Nhazul: 79? What are you on about?

Suddenly, the two of them heard the door opening. Quickly thinking, Nhazul grabbed Ruka and hid under table, as the Professor walked in.

Nhazul: ...-_-... You just love making situations like this, don't you...!

Ruka: Why are we hiding?

Nhazul: Do I even need to answer that? He'll think we're having sex in here...!

Ruka: Why would be think that...?

Nhazul: ...-_-... You do realize we're in a college, right?

Ruka: Fair point...

Nhazul: Just be quiet...

As the Professor was walking up to their desk, Ruka proceeded to reposition herself, now sitting on Nhazul's lap, and wrapping his arm around herself, surprising him.

Nhazul: What the hell are you doing...?!

Ruka didn't say anything, touching her phone, and within a few seconds, it started going off, shocking him, and surprising her.

Ruka: I knew it... I was right...!

Nhazul: Shit...

Nhazul quickly got up, keeping Ruka hidden and lied to the Professor telling them he forgot his phone, and they ended up buying it. Once they left, Ruka crawled out, and Nhazul looked at her annoyed.

Nhazul: Are you out of your damn mind?! What do you think would happen if we were caught together?

Ruka: I...I'm really sorry...

Nhazul just sighed annoyed.

Nhazul: Just leave, before you get yourself in trouble.

Nhazul proceeded to leave Ruka, as she just held her chest still blushing.

Ruka: ...

(Timeskip)

After leaving, Nhazul returned to his apartment and informed Chizuru of what happened. But as he was, he looked over and saw Ruka.

Nhazul: ...-_-... Oh for the love of, why are you here...? How do you even know where I live?!

Ruka: When we passed by here on a date, Sai told me you lived here. That voice was Chizuru, wasn't it? Are you two neighbors?

Nhazul: And if we are?

Ruka just started looking down frustrated.

Ruka: Why are you so close...? She's a rental girlfriend, isn't she? You pay her to go on a date, and that's it! That's the extant of your relationship, right?!

Nhazul just looked at Ruka and sighed.

Nhazul: Yes, you're right. That's the extent of our relationship. And frankly, I hate those kind of relationships and the practice of rental girlfriends as a whole.

Ruka: Then why?! Why are you apart of that kind of relationship?!

Nhazul: I already told you! I have my reasons.

Ruka: I hate it! I hate it, I hate it!

Ruka pulled out her phone and started recording.

Ruka: I, Ruka Sarashina, promise here and now that I won't tell anyone about your fake relationship or Chizuru Mizuhara's job! But only if you go out with me, Nhazul!

Nhazul just looked at Ruka dumbfounded and then annoyed.

Nhazul: Huh?! Are you trying to blackmail us?!

Ruka: You're the first person to ever cross 90... I like you...! I really, really like you, Nhazul!

Nhazul just looked at Ruka, now even more annoyed.

Nhazul: Huh...? You can't be-

Ruka: I'm serious. Between what happened on the ferry and the double date... It shocked me to see how much you care about Chizuru. If you care so much for a rental girlfriend, then you're sure to treat a real girlfriend even better!

Nhazul: What are you going on about?! She's just a rental!

Ruka then ran up to Nhazul, getting in his face.

Ruka: Really? Then you can go out with me! If she's just a rental girlfriend, there should be nothing in our way!

Nhazul just looked at Ruka, as she did the same with pleading eyes. Suddenly, Chizuru's door opened, as she walked out.

Nhazul: Why are you coming out?

Chizuru: She already knows.

Ruka just looked at Chizuru.

Ruka: There you are, Puppet Master.

Chizuru: Who are you calling a mastermind...? Do you realize what you're saying? Like Nhazul said, we've only kept up this rental relationship because we had no choice.

Nhazul: ...-_-... Even though it's your fault...

Chizuru just elbows Nhazul in the stomach.

Nhazul: Owww!

Chizuru: Shut up. Even if you're serious, telling him that out of the blue would confuse him and just about anyway.

Ruka: That's not true... He's even grabbed by boob!

Chizuru just looked at Nhazul dumbfounded.

Chizuru: Wha?

Nhazul: That was an accident and you know it!

Ruka: Has he ever grabbed your boobs, Chizuru?

Chizuru: W-What?! No!

Ruka just started snickering.

Ruka: That means I've gotten further then you.

Chizuru: Excuse me?!

Nhazul: ...-_-... Stop making it sound like a competition...

Ruka: He embraced me without asking, then pushed me onto my back...

Nhazul: I broke my wrist saving your ass! Stop making it sound sexual!

Chizuru just started glaring at Nhazul.

Chizuru: That doesn't make it okay.

Nhazul: Don't you fucking start! Anyway, how about we not talk about this out here?

Chizuru just sighed annoyed.

Chizuru: You've got a point.

Both Nhazul and Chizuru proceeded to walk into Nhazul's apartment, shocking Ruka.

Ruka: I don't believe this! You're even frequenting his apartment?

Chizuru: W-What do you mean?

Ruka: If you're just a rental, wouldn't you hesitate to enter a client's apartment?! But you just walked in, which proves you've done it before!

Chizuru just blushed annoyed, being called out as Nhazul just sighed annoyed.

Ruka: So much for "just a rental"! You're getting down and dirty without telling your other clients or your agency!

Chizuru: No we aren't!

As Chizuru and Nhazul sat down at the table, Ruka sat next to Nhazul, hugging his arm.

Ruka: I'm sitting next to him! I'm not letting anyone else by his side!

Nhazul and Chizuru just looked at Ruka annoyed, as she sighed.

Chizuru: 5 minutes. Ruka, give me 5 minutes to speak with Nhazul.

Ruka: No way. Who knows what you'd do if I left you two alone?

Chizuru: Nothing!

Nhazul: Ruka, can you just do it?

Ruka looked up at Nhazul, before reluctantly walking outside.

Chizuru: Let's get this out the way. Do you-

Nhazul: No.

Chizuru: That's inconsistent with her testimony.

Nhazul: ...-_-... What part of "accidents" is not clicking in your head...?

Chizuru: Are you sure that it isn't your trust issues talking?

Nhazul: Huh?

Chizuru: Nothing. If you don't like her, then you shouldn't go out with her. If you let her have her way now, she'll keep Blackmailing you.

Nhazul: Don't you think I already know that?

Ruka: NOO!!!

Suddenly the door slammed back open, as Ruka hadn't fully closed it, and was listening in. She then ran up to Nhazul and hugged him, pleading with him.

Ruka: Please! Please just go out with me!

Nhazul: ...

Chizuru: Are you sure about this? I find it hard to believe that this will make you happy!

Ruka: You wouldn't understand, Chizuru...! You have no idea just how long I've been waiting for Nhazul!

Ruka then looked at Nhazul and saw he was glaring at her, surprising her.

Nhazul: Get off of me...

Ruka: Huh?

Nhazul: I said get off!

Nhazul proceeded to push Ruka off of him, causing her to stumble back, as he still glared at her.

Nhazul: You say that you like me, but why? You've only known me for a few hours at most, that don't even make up a full day... You know nothing about me...! You have absolutely no reason to fall for me...!

Ruka: B-But...

Nhazul: Shut up!

(Flashback)

Mami: Oh, I'm done with him. I was only using him to buy me whatever I wanted. I couldn't care less about him.

(Present)

Nhazul: You don't like me... The only feelings you have for me are artificial... FAKE!!!

As Nhazul said that, Chizuru was surprised to see Ruka now crying, as she fell to the ground on her knees.

Ruka: Why...? Why do you have be so against the idea...? Even I know that doing this would only get me on your bad side... But you two are so glued together, I didn't know what to do...! If you go out with me, I won't tell anyone, I promise!

Nhazul: ...

Ruka: Sai told me about your past... How your last girlfriend hurt you, how you have trust issues...! I get it! I understand! I won't ask you to fall for me immediately... I don't mind if you only see it as a trial at first... but please just give me a chance... Please let me be your girlfriend...!

As Ruka continued to cry, Nhazul slowly began to feel bad, having gone a bit too far, but Chizuru walked up to him, whispering to him.

Chizuru: Go out with her.

Nhazul just looked at Chizuru surprised.

Nhazul: Huh...?

Chizuru: I do feel bad for you, but I don't want any more people finding out about my job.

Nhazul: ...-_-... Oh, so just throw me under the bus...

Chizuru: I mean, just look at her. It looks like she really does have feelings for you. There's no way someone would be crying like that if they didn't. There's probably more they her then meets the eye.

Nhazul just rolled his eyes, as she continued to speak.

Chizuru: She isn't going to leave until you give her the okay. She even knows our college. It'll be too risky to leave her to her own devices. She even said she was okay with a trial period.

The two of them just looked back at Ruka, who was still crying.

Nhazul: ...

Nhazul just grabbed his head sighing, still feeling slightly bad, before walking up to Ruka, kneeling down to her.

Nhazul: Alright, alright... I'll let you be my trial girlfriend... So stop crying, alright?
