Chapter 150
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
In the chiefâs office.
Don believed that Rachel was a suspect and insisted on detaining him.
Morris was in a dilemma.
One was his brother-in-law, whom he was terrified of, and the other was a powerful subordinate under
him.
He could only place his hopes on Rachel.
Fortunately, Rachel did not disappoint and took out the recording on his phone.
The recording happened to be a conversation between herself and Mr. Griffin, who was claiming to
have been kidnapped and the kidnappers extorting money.
âSo you were really going to save someone?â Don still found it unbelievable.
It was hard for him to imagine that this beautiful woman actually had the courage to enter the tigerâs
den alone.
He took a deep breath and asked, âThen if this case is convicted according to kidnappingâ¦â
Rachel shook her head at Don. After thinking for a few seconds, she said indifferently, âThis case canât
be deemed as a simple case of kidnap. We still have to use these two people as a breakthrough point
to find out whoâs the mastermind behind them. Other than these two people, thereâs another fish that
escaped the net. We need you to capture it as soon as possible to avoid alerting the enemy.â
âAre you suspecting that they are related to Vince?â Tom asked as he looked at Rachel with a
thoughtful look in his eyes.
Rachel nodded. âIâve already contacted the Department of Investigation Services and asked them to
bring the relevant case files over. As for the rest, Iâll leave it to Uncle .Morris.â
Hearing how she addressed Morris, Tom sneered in disdain. âWhat kind of uncle is he?â
Morris was speechless.
Although he was out of his league, there was no need for him to openly despise him in front of
outsiders.
âSince thereâs nothing else, can I leave now?â Rachel asked.
Don hesitated for a moment before saying, âIâll send you off.â
When he reached the door, Rachel suddenly thought of something. âUncle Morris, you havenât told me
who informed you to come.â
Morris did not think too much about it and said casually, âItâs Special Assistant Brook from Stellar
Corporation.â
Rachel raised her eyebrows without batting an eyelid. She lowered her head slightly to hide the smile
on her lips. âSo itâs him.â

Chapter 150
It was self-evident who Special Assistant Brook of Stellar Corporation represented.
Unlike the gleeful Rachel, Tom, who was sitting on the sofa, had an ambiguous look in his eyes as he
seemed to be thinking of something.
After Rachel walked out of the police station, Eddie immediately walked forward quickly. âMiss Grey,
Mr. Jones is waiting for you in the car.â
With that, he was about to bring Rachel to the car.
However, Don rushed forward and blocked his way. âSpecial Assistant Brook, can I ask you a
question?â
âWhatâs up?â Eddie asked patiently.
âThereâs no enmity between us. May I ask why you asked me to personally target Miss. Grey?â
Eddie was flabbergasted.
âWhen did I ask you to target Miss Grey personally?!â he thought.
He subconsciously looked at Rachel.
The corners of the womanâs lips curled up into a faint smile as she looked at him meaningfully.
Eddie broke out in cold sweat under her gaze. Thoughts raced through his mind, and he finally looked
at Don. âCaptain Cole, I was helping you out of goodwill. You canât harm me so blatantly!â
âBut it was clearly you who asked me to personally take special care of Miss Grey?!â Don looked at
Eddie innocently.
Eddie was caught between laughter and tears. He secretly gritted his teeth and said, âCaptain Cole, I
meant for you to take good care of Miss Grey, literally. Thereâs no deeper meaning, and I didnât ask you
to target her!â
He really didnât know if he should say that Captain Cole was pure and cute or that he was so stupid that
it was cringe-worthy.
He couldnât even understand the most basic literal meaning.
