Chapter 180
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
David pursed his lips and reached out to hug her waist tightly. He kissed her cheek and temple. âBe
with me?â
The request was tempting to Rachel, but rationality prevailed at the critical moment. âIâll wait for you to
come back.â
âI canât bear to part with you.â Davidâs palm clasped the back of her neck. Their foreheads were
pressed together, their breaths blending.
Similarly, Rachel was extremely reluctant to part with David.
After hearing Davidâs conversation, she could already make a guess about what was going on.
However, the moment David voiced it out, she was still involuntarily filled with disappointment and
reluctance.
Rachelâs fingertips curled up slightly as she gently kissed Davidâs lips. âHow long will you be gone for?â
âItâs not confirmed,â David said. âCould be two or three days, could be a week.â
As soon as he finished speaking, a gloomy atmosphere quietly filled the
car.
Suddenly, Rachel chuckled.
A dangerous glint flashed across the depths of Davidâs dark eyes. He pinched the soft flesh at her waist
and said sinisterly into her ear, âYou heartless girl, are you so eager to not see me?â
âOf course not.â The ticklish Rachel retreated backward and explained anxiously, âI just confirmed
something.â
David raised his eyebrows slightly and looked at her meaningfully.
His gaze seemed to be saying, âYouâd better give me a satisfactory
answer.â
âMaybe I didnât love Louis Smith that much.â
In the three years she had been dating Louis, business trips had become a common occurrence.
However, at that time, she was not too reluctant or disappointed.
On the other hand, when she found out that David was about to leave,
the disappointment and reluctance she felt were unprecedented. For a moment, it even felt somewhat
unfamiliar.
At the same time, she was once again sure that she didnât love Louis that much.
It had to be said that Rachelâs explanation successfully pleased David.
However, he did not show it on his face. He pretended to be angry and said with a dark expression,
âAre you comparing me to a scumbag?â
âIâm just comparing my past self with my current self,â Rachel said.
She looked at his slightly furrowed brows and gently smoothed them with her fingers. âIâll wait for you to
return.â
âOkay.â David kissed her lips.
After the car stopped at the Platinum Mansion, Rachel opened the car door and got out.
However, as soon as she turned around, she saw Lucas jump out of nowhere.
âWhereâs that bastard? Let me take a good look at his face!â
âWhatâs wrong with you!â Rachel pulled on Lucasâ arm angrily.
It was not that she was worried that Lucas would cause trouble for David, but rather, she was worried
that he was not Davidâs match.
Lucas tapped her forehead. âStupid girl, youâve only been dating for a few days and youâre already
siding with outsiders! Who am I doing this for? If I wasnât worried that you would be cheated, I wouldnât
have waited here for so long!â
âIâm not a threeâyearâold kid,â said Rachel as she walked into the corridor.
The elevator went all the way to the top floor.
A nearly 100 feet curved floorâtoâceiling window was enough to have a panoramic view of all of
Seaxas.
At the other end of the balcony was a sky garden. The thriving plants added to the brutality of the night.
The apartment had probably not been lived in for a long time. Even with the new ventilation system on,
it still exuded a cold aura.
After Lucas entered, he followed Rachel around like a shadow. âHurry up and tell me who that
delusional bastard is!â
Rachel glanced expressionlessly at him and walked to the refrigerator in the kitchen. âCoke or beer?â
âBeer,â Lucas said.
