Chapter 218
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
Rachel got into the back seat of Davidâs car.
The man hooked his arm, wrapped one hand around Rachelâs slender waist, and the other hand
passed through the crook of her leg. He picked Rachel up horizontally and placed her on his lap.
âOh!â
This sudden action made Rachel shout out in surprise. She subconsciously wrapped his arms around
Davidâs neck.
The distance between the two of them was suddenly shortened.
âDo you know how hard it took me to resist the urge to take you away?â The manâs deep, hoarse voice
sounded beside her ear.
Rachel lowered her head to hide the emotions in her eyes.
After a moment of silence, she bit her lip and said in a low voice, âIâm sorry.â David looked at her red
lips that were bitten by herself. He narrowed his eyes, and a dark and deep danger flashed in them.
âLook at me!â
His tone was casual, but when he finished speaking, it was more like an order that could not be
disobeyed.
Rachelâs eyelashes fluttered slightly. She slowly raised her eyes and looked at the manâs dark and
deep eyes without blinking.
The moment their eyes met, she could see the darkness in the manâs eyes.
His eyes were dark with unfathomable emotion, making one feel inexplicably timid.
âDavid, Iâ¦â
Before she could finish speaking, the man grabbed the back of her neck and bent down to kiss her lips.
The manâs aura domineered every single cell in her body.
He was more aggressive and expressive than usual. He gave his all. His ruthless bite was mixed with a
wave of unknown anger, making Rachel unable to resist.
Her hand that was pressed against the manâs chest kept curling up as she gripped the manâs shirt
tightly.
The man finally let go of her when she felt all the air in her lungs had been drained, and she was
dazzled.
âDonât do it again!â
The manâs deep and cold voice sounded beside her ear
In an instant, Rachel felt a chill rush throughout her entire body
Rachel looked up and was caught off guard by the manâs dark eyes.
There was an undisguised dominance and tyranny hidden in his dark eyes. It was obvious that he was
determined to get Rachel
Suddenly, a smile appeared on Rachelâs face.
She leaned against the manâs chest and said calmly, âI remember mom telling me that every child is a
gift from God to a family, so children should enjoy the love and pampering of their parents, but Iâve
never felt true love, and pampering.
âIâve experienced too much abandonment. Every time Iâm abandoned, Iâll subconsciously think that the
problem lies with me. Is it because Iâm not sensible enough? Is it because I didnât perform well enough?
Is it because Iâm not obedient enough? However, even if I try my best to be better, I canât change their
prejudice against me. I canât reverse the outcome of being abandoned.
âSo when the news was exposed online, I instinctively thought that I was going to be abandoned
again.â
There was a suffocating sense of oppression in the car.
âI wonât leave you behind!â David grabbed the back of her neck and leaned over to plant a light kiss
between her eyebrows. âNo matter what happens, I will always be by your side.â
Rachel smiled. âI know.â
The moment David said that they were getting married, Rachel sensed his determination and firmness.
âI just donât have confidence in myself.â
David was born to be the center of attention. He was destined to stand at the peak. His life should be
dazzling and not be influenced by anything, not even by her.
âBut donât worry, I wonât give up. I can change.â
âNo!â David interrupted her firmly. âYou donât have to change yourself for anyone, including me. You are
Rachel Grey, a distinct and unique individual.â
