Chapter 255
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
Chapter 255 Is He Showing Off To Me?
Businessmen valued the benefits in their hands the most.
Once their returns on investment decreased, they would naturally demand an explanation from Louis.
âThat depends on the Smith familyâs luck,â Rachel said.
It was not easy to get Mr. Zaneâs investment back then.
Mr. Zane, on the other hand, was stubborn and conservative both in business and in relationships.
âAre you just going to wait and see?â Mary asked in disappointment.
âYou know how I like to kick someone when theyâre down.â Rachel chuckled. âBy the way, donât forget
about tomorrowâs lunch date.â
âDonât worry.â Mary said, âIâll be there early. Itâs been a while since the last time we went shopping
together.â
âOkay.â
Speaking of which, it had been a long time since they went shopping together last time.
Rachel and Mary first came to the clothing store. Then they went to the lingerie store. When it was near
the appointed time, David called.
âWhere are you?â David asked.
Rachel frowned when she saw Mary gesturing at her with a
leopardâpatterned bra. She quickly turned around and said, âIâm shopping in Times Square with Mary.â
She paused for a moment. âWhat about you? Are you done with your work?â
David said, âTurn around.â
Rachel saw David in a black suit standing in the corridor.
His wellâtailored suit accentuated his tall figure, and his meticulous tie
exuded a strict sense of abstinence.
The bright lights shone on him, coating him with a layer of faint silver light, which made him look soft.
However, his indifferent eyes carried inviolable
coldness.
Rachel looked at him and smiled.
David hung up and reached out to Rachel, looking at her expectantly. It was a simple action, but he did
it with indescribable gentleness.
At that moment, there was only one thought in Rachel Greyâs mind.
Run to him and hug him tightly.
She had just taken a step when Mary grabbed her arm. âI want to go to the toilet. Accompany me.â
Rachel was speechless.
For real, her best friend was good at spoiling the mood.
Without waiting for her to speak, David walked towards Rachel step by step.
Mary caught a glimpse of David. Her eyes flickered with excitement as she kept looking at Rachel.
Rachel blushed and introduced the two to each other. âMy good friend, Mary Green.â
âHello, Miss Green.â David smiled politely.
Mary smiled and nodded, but her gaze was sizing David up and down critically.
Not to mention his temperament, his face alone was prettier than those stars in the entertainment
industry.
His black eyebrows were exquisite. His eyes were deep, and his nose was high. Every part of him
revealed he was the one that God favored.
Most of the customers in the lingerie shop were women. The existence of David was especially eyeâ
catching.
Rachel noticed the gazes that fell on David. She was embarrassed. âLetâs go
to the restaurant first.â
âFine,â Mary said calmly.
She subconsciously walked forward and tried to hold Rachelâs arm as usual.
However, she could not even touch the corner of Rachelâs clothes. David walked up and pulled Rachel
into his arms.
She looked at her empty hand and could not help but frown.
When she looked up, she happened to see David raise his eyebrows. The smile on his face revealed a
hint of provocation.
Mary frowned. Was this man showing off to her?
This was really boring and childish!
However, she had to admit that what he did had successfully aroused her
desire to win.
