Chapter 273
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
Chapter 273 Going On The Rampage
Turning to look at David, Rachel took off her gloves expressionlessly. âI feel like Iâve been tricked.â
There was a hint of disappointment in her tone.
She had thought that this thing would be a rare treasure.
However, no matter how she looked at it now, she felt that she had suffered from a loss.
Although Rachel had been living a luxurious life in the Johnson family, she was also a businesswoman,
who valued the benefits in her hands.
If this queenâs crown could not bring her the expected value and pleasant surprise, then it would be a
loss.
That was 20 billion dollars!
Though the money spent on the queenâs crown wasnât her own money, she still felt inexplicably angry
when she thought about it.
âItâs not a loss.â David looked at the queenâs crown on the table with his deep eyes.
Rachelâs eyes lit up. âWhat have you found?â
Î
David looked at her gently. Then, he shook his head with a smile. âThere should be a secret hidden on
this crown, but you need to dig it out slowly.â
âAre you sure?â Rachel raised her eyebrows and looked at David inquisitively.
âAccording to my understanding of that person, he wouldnât have been interested in this queenâs crown
for no reason.â There was an unfathomable deep insight in Davidâs eyes.
That person had deliberately raised the price to take revenge. He had been shamed into anger, too.
Rachel put on her gloves and studied the crown again. She still did not find anything. âIâm not looking
for the secret anymore. It has made my head hurt.â
She removed her gloves, took the water glass from the table, and casually took a sip of water.
David smiled and reached out to touch her soft hair. His eyes were filled with reluctance. âI might have
to be away for a few days.â
Hearing this, Rachel looked up at him and suppressed the disappointment in her heart. She placed the
water glass on the table and asked casually, âFor how many days?â
âIâm not sure,â David said. âBut Iâll be back as soon as I can.â
Rachel nodded. âThen be careful.â
âDonât worry.â David leaned over and kissed her lips.
When he was about to get up and leave, Rachel grabbed his tie and pressed her soft lips against his
thin lips again.
After the kiss, the corners of Rachelâs mouth were red and swollen. She
leaned against Davidâs chest and adjusted her breathing. âIâll wait for you to come back.â
David held the back of her head with his palm, kissed her forehead, and stood up to leave. âGo to bed
early. Good night.â
Eddie had been waiting downstairs for a long time.
After bending down and getting into the car, David signaled the driver to start the car.
Eddie studied the expression on Davidâs face. After pondering for a moment, Eddie reported, âMr.
Jones, we just received a piece of news that Hell has left Seaxas.â
âHave you found out the origin of the queenâs crown?â David asked.
When Eddie heard this, a trace of hesitation flashed across his face.
Feeling Davidâs sharp gaze on him, Eddie had no choice but to say, âYes, I have. It was delivered by
Darcy, Miss Greyâs auction butler, who participated in the auction on her behalf.â
David narrowed his eyes slightly. He looked straight at Eddie as if a sharp dagger had come out of the
depths of Davidâs black eyes. âAre you sure?â
Eddie suddenly met Davidâs black eyes and shuddered.
He nodded seriously. âAbsolutely.â
As soon as he finished speaking, the car was filled with an oppressive silence.
Eddie sat stiffly on his seat. Feeling that David was in a bad mood, Eddie could not help but take a
deep breath. After hesitating for a while, he asked
carefully, âMr. Jones, shall we tell Miss Grey about it?â
