Rachel frowned slightly. She didn’t know about this.

After a short while, the butler walked in with a red box.

“Rae–Rae, what is this?” Eleanor studied the box that the butler had brought in. Based on its size, it

looked like a jewelry box.

Rachel pursed her lips. Just as she was at a loss for an answer, Eddie Brook, who was late, suddenly

spoke. “Mrs. Johnson, this is a sapphire necklace from Miss Grey. It was completed around 1960 and if

paired with the

sapphire she’d gotten for you, it makes a complete set.”

Every woman likes jewelry. Even Eleanor Johnson who was used to nice things couldn’t help but be

pleasantly surprised. “Could this be the set of sapphires that appeared at the auction in Geneva?”

Eddie respectfully answered, “Yes, it is.”

Eleanor had been confused by the sudden gift earlier, but seeing Eddie’s figure now, she understood.

“Rae–Rae, this must have cost you a fortune.” Eleanor looked at the jewelry in the box admiringly.

Rachel lowered her eyes and stared at the tips of her feet.

She had merely mentioned over the phone that she was attending Eleanor’s birthday party. She hadn’t

expected David to send a gift in her name.

“If there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave.” Eddie nodded slightly at Rachel and turned to leave.

After Eleanor had personally put it back into her room, she rallied everyone to play poker with her.

Rachel sat at the table, but her mind was already far away.

When she had some idle time, she took out her phone and sent a message to David. [Thank you for

the gift.]

David replied, [Just a little something.]

Rachel looked at his reply, her eyes flickering slightly. Her fair fingertips

tapped the keyboard quickly as she replied, [What a costly ‘little something‘.]

David Jones replied, [As your man, I cannot embarrass you.]

Rachel Grey pursed her lips and tried her best to suppress her smile.

Katy noticed Rachel’s expression from where she was sitting across her and mistakenly thought that

Rachel was complacent after being in the limelight. Unable to help herself, Katy curled her lips, making

an unpleasant remark. “Just because you have more money, what’s the big deal?”

As soon as she finished speaking, Eleanor flipped her cards over.

“Katy, are you deliberately being difficult today?” Eleanor’s tone was gentle, but her words were filled

with an aggressive aura.

“Aunt, I…”

“It’s getting late. You and Charles should go home so that your family won’t worry.” Eleanor interrupted

her coldly with a straight face, not giving Katy a chance to explain.

Katy bit her lip, looking aggrieved. “Fine, I’ll go!”

As she finished speaking, she grunted, grabbed her things, and stormed out the door.

Charles grabbed his jacket and quickly chased after her.

After the Page siblings had left, everyone sat along the sofa in the living. room, chatting while having a

cup of coffee.

“Rae–Rae, have you thought about what I said?” Eleanor put down the cup in

her hand and looked at Rachel with a smile.

Rachel looked at her and thought for a moment before realizing that Eleanor was referring to staying

the night for the charity banquet organized by Mr.

Zane.

“Sure,” Rachel answered.

Hearing her answer, Eleanor’s lips curved upwards in a smile.

At this moment, Tom suddenly asked, “I heard from Lucas that you’re seeing

someone?”
