Chapter 322
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
Chapter 322 Treating Her As A Fool
Rachel walked to a quiet corner. Just as she picked up the phone, Old Mr. Smithâs voice came from the
phone. âRaeâRae, itâs me.â
âWhatâs the matter?â Rachelâs cold voice was calm without a trace of warmth as if she was facing a
stranger.
Old Mr. Smith had already expected her attitude, but when he really faced it, he could not help but feel
a little disappointed.
It turned out that Rachel could really be so heartless. She could really turn her back on the threeâyear
relationship between her and the Smith family. Old Mr. Smith took a deep breath before saying, âRaeâ
Rae, Jane is at fault this time. I apologize to you on her behalf. I hope you can forgive her.â
âShe just has to pay the price for losing,â Rachel said.
Although Jane and Olivia did not fulfill their promise to pole dance, she did not lose anything in this bet,
so there was no need to forgive them.
On the other hand, the Smith familyâ¦
Based on her understanding of the Smith family, the more Jane hated her,
the more Mrs. Smith would hate her!
âSpeaking of which, sheâs in the wrong this time. She actually caused such a huge commotion over a
piece of clothing.â Old Mr. Smith paused for a moment. âBut RaeâRae, as the saying goes, it takes two
hands to clap. Although Jane is in the wrong, you shouldnât have forced her to kneel down and bark like
a dog, right? No matter what, sheâs from the Smith family, and if she canât live with her head held high,
the Smith family will naturally be affected. You know the principle of prosperity and loss.â
Old Mr. Smithâs words were like the iron hand in a velvet glove.
This phone call sounded like an apology to Rachel on behalf of Jane, but in fact, he was really blaming
Rachel.
He was trying to say that it was Rachelâs fault for getting upset with Jane over a piece of clothing. It
was Rachelâs fault for not understanding the big picture and being unforgiving. It was Rachelâs fault for
not caring about the Smith familyâs pride and acting recklessly!
âOf course, I understand that youâre bound together for good or ill, butâ¦â
Rachel could not help but laugh softly. The corners of her eyes were filled with ridicule as she
continued, âWhat does this have to do with me?â
She had nothing to do with the Smith family, right?
Did the Smith family really think that she was a pushover who would not dare to retaliate even if she
was bullied by Jane?
On the other end of the phone, Old Mr. Smithâs tone suddenly turned deeper when he heard this. There
was a hint of anger in his mellow voice. âRaeâRae, why are you doing this? Youâve always been
sensible and youâve always known your limits. How did you become like this?â
Rachel squinted slightly, and there was a mysterious glint in the depths of her beautiful eyes. âI wonder
what identity you are using to accuse me, Old Mr. Smith?â
Old Mr. Smith choked.
Then, Rachel continued, âFor the past three years, Iâve been strategizing for the Smith family and
treating the company as my home. Iâve done my best for the Smith family! Always been sensible?
Always known my limits? Thatâs right. Thatâs why you had the audacity to hurt me and betray me!â
Her voice was loud and clear. Her indifferent and cold voice was filled with awe that was rather
astonishing.
âIâ¦â Old Mr. Smith stammered for a long time.
Rachel snapped impatiently, âEnough! My time is precious. If thereâs nothing else, Iâll hang up first!â
With that, she hung up.
Her eyes were filled with impatience and frustration as she gripped the phone in her hand tightly.
The the Smith family people must be crazy!
For the past three years, she had worked hard for the Smith family. Did he really treat her as a fool?
Making them get down on their knees to apologize and bark like a dog was considered a light
punishment. If they really forced her into a corner one day, none of them would have a good time!
