Chapter 397
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
Chapter 397
Rachel looked at the ring on her finger in shock.
âGetting a marriage certificate is indeed too hasty,â Davidâs deep and cold voice suddenly rang out.
Rachel looked up at him.
With one hand in his pocket, David walked over step by step. âBut to prevent others from coveting you,
I still have to label you as mine.â
âThen what is this? A proposal?â
As she spoke, she raised her hand and waved it.
âDo you agree?â
âDoes it matter if I agree or not?â Rachel looked at him helplessly. âYou didnât even give me a chance to
refuse and directly put the ring on my finger.â
David reached out and pulled her into his arms. âItâs your fault for being too beautiful.â
He knew that Rachel had always wanted a sense of ritual, and he was willing to satisfy it.
However, Zion Summersâs appearance yesterday made him feel a sense of crisis.
He had no choice but to resort to this.
Rachel leaned into his arms obediently. She rubbed the slightly cold ring with her fingers and sighed
softly. âI thought I would have a romantic and grand proposal ceremonyâ¦
David kissed her temple. His deep and cold voice slowly entered her ears. âWhat others have, my
RaeâRae has too.â
Rachel tilted her eyes to look at him. Her lips curled into a smile that reached her eyes. âThen Iâll look
forward to it first?â
âOkay.â
âAre
you free this afternoon?â Rachel asked.
David said, âDo you want to take a look around?â
Rachel nodded. âI havenât been here for a long time. I plan to walk around.â
After the two went out, David learned from Rachel that she had spent her high school days in Pollister.
She also met Linda Galler and Jessica Tower here.
After walking around Pollister High School, they went to a restaurant for dinner.
âRachel?!â A sweet female voice suddenly sounded from behind.
Rachelâs body froze on the spot.
The things accumulated in the depths of her heart were like Pandoraâs box that had been opened,
pouring out all at once.
Her mind was dazed as if someone had poured a pail of ice water over her from head to toe in the cold
winter. The boneâchilling cold swept. through her limbs and bones wantonly, and her hands trembled
uncontrollably.
David noticed Rachelâs abnormality and tightened his grip on her hand. âAre you feeling unwell?â
Rachel slowly regained consciousness and stared at him for a moment. She shook her head gently and
continued walking forward without looking back.

Lily Grey looked at Rachelâs determined back and subconsciously wanted to chase after her, but her
mother, Rose Grey, grabbed her. âWhere are you going?â
âI-â
âYouâve got the wrong person.â Rose exposed her thoughts with one sentence. She held Lilyâs hand
and walked towards the private room. She did not forget to mutter, âWe havenât seen each other for so
many years. Perhaps she has already died outside. Why donât you think about the scandal she caused
in high schoolâ¦â
When David walked into the private room, he coincidentally heard Roseâs words.
He narrowed his eyes, and an imperceptible coldness flashed across the depths of his black eyes.
The meal was tasteless to Rachel. It tasted like chewing wax.
âIâm going to the restroom.â
âDo you want me to accompany you?â
Rachel shook her head and refused. She then stood up and left.
However, when she walked into the restroom, she immediately regretted it.
But it was too late to leave now.
âRachel, I knew it was you.â Lily put the lipstick into her bag and looked at Rachel with a kind smile.
Lilyâs appearance was very compatible with her voice. She was equally sweet and moving.
However, who would have thought that a pure and harmless appearance would hide such a vicious
heart?
