Chapter 495
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
Chapter 495
The recording was to prevent Hannah from denying it. He did not expect it to become a bargaining chip
for him to save himself.
The recording explained clearly how Hannah instructed the waiter, Benji, to bump Rachel and how she
promised him.
A series of scornful stares fell on Hannah like knives.
âTurns out itâs her, the pot calling the kettle black!â
âTo think that we helped her uphold justice just now. She actually used us as the pawns!â
âFortunately, the Chamber of Commerce installed surveillance cameras this year. Otherwise, Miss Grey
would never clear her name.â
âShe prided herself on being from a scholarly family, but it was unexpected that she was so vicious to
force Miss Grey to take off her clothes in public! Sure enough, jealousy makes people unrecognizable!â
Accompanied by the sounds of discussion, Hannahâs eyes were filled with anger and unwillingness. An
overwhelming sense of shame surged toward her like a tidal wave, wanting to drown her completely.
Her nails dug into her fingertips, and her body trembled slightly.
At this moment, it was as if she had been stripped and was standing naked in front of everyone. She
was at a loss as she faced everyoneâs mocking gazes.
Rachel raised her eyebrows slightly, and her red lips curled into a cold smile. âMiss Shain, what do you
want to say now?â
âIâ¦â As Hannah met Rachelâs gaze, she felt as if her throat was being strangled by a hand, unable to
make any sound.
Mary looked at Hannah with a gloating smile. âKeep arguing and twisting the truth. You were pretty
good at talking just now. Why are you mute now?â
Hannah did not say anything. She just glared at Mary fiercely.
âYou donât know how to apologize, do you?â Lucas put out his cigarette. His deep, cold voice carried a
chill that abruptly lowered the air around him.
Hannah shuddered in fear.
Lucas had always been a lazy person who did not care about anything. His
handsome face was now covered with a layer of frightening frost. His black eyes squinted slightly and
burst into sharp cold light.
Hannah bit her lip.
âTeach her how to apologize!â said David, glancing sideways at Eddie and Billy behind him.
Eddie and Billy walked toward Hannah expressionlessly like the tool men who received instructions.
Without any explanation, they forcefully pressed her to the ground, kowtowing to Rachel and
apologizing.
âLet go of me! Do you know who I am? The Shain family will not let you off for offending me!â
At this moment, Hannah no longer looked like a young socialite from a wealthy family.
The corners of Davidâs lips curled up slightly. His cold voice was filled with sarcasm. âWhat makes you
think that the Shain family will offend me for you?â
As if struck by lightning, Hannah stood frozen in place with her pupils trembling, slightly when she
heard his words.
She subconsciously searched for Old Mr. Shain in the crowd but did not find him.
Hannah knew what it meant.
There were more boys in this generation of the Shain family, so girls had become
treasures.
She was not as good-looking, clever, and lovely as Iris, nor was she pleasing as Iris. Therefore, she
had been living in the shadow of Iris for years.
It was not until Iris married far away that the Shain family noticed her.
At the Seaxas Chamber of Commerce, the Shain family planned to have a marriage alliance, and Old
Mr. Shain had promised her that she would not suffer any grievances.
But now, she had ruined everything.
Since Old Mr. Shain did not care about her life, why would he offend the Johnson family and David for
her?
Hannahâs face turned ashen at the thought.
