Chapter 508
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
Chapter 508
âStay away from Thomas Shain from now on!â David looked down at the woman under him. His dark
eyes seemed to be burning with fire, igniting the hidden desire in the depths of his eyes. âDonât meet
him, donât go out to eat with him, and donât go to any concerts with him!â
Hearing the three things that David forbade her to do, Rachel was even more convinced that David
knew everything about her conversation with Thomas.
Rachel did not miss the flash of ruthlessness in Davidâs eyes.
Her intuition told her that if she really had a flirtatious relationship with Thomas, David would get rid of
Thomas without hesitation.
David was not afraid of the Shain familyâs prestige in Seaxas.
Rachel looked at Davidâs dark eyes, which were cold and sharp. She wrapped her arms around his
neck and buried her face in his neck. She sighed softly. âYouâre David Jones. Why are you feeling
flustered because of another man?â
In Rachelâs impression, David had always been rational and restrained. He was a strategist, and
everything was in his control.
But now, because of Thomas, David had lost his cool.
Davidâs eyes narrowed slightly. His dark eyes hid an unconcealable dominance and aggressiveness.
He stared at Rachel without blinking and grabbed her chin tightly with his fingertips. âAnswer me.â
Rachel looked into Davidâs eyes fearlessly. Her pretty eyes were filled with a faint gentleness. âI have a
boyfriend, so I certainly know I should avoid speculation. I also know I should keep a distance from
men other than you. But you must understand that the Shain and Johnson families are old friends.
Thomas and I will inevitably meet, but I can promise you that Iâll take the initiative to report to you every
time he and I meet.â
As Rachel said, the Shain and Johnson families were old friends, so their relationship was naturally
close.
Whether it was in business or in private, Rachel and Thomas would inevitably meet. However, when
David thought about how Rachel and Thomas were childhood friends who grew up together in school,
David could not help but feel jealous.
David looked at Rachel with unknown emotions surging in his dark eyes. âDo you like Thomas?â
âNo way.â Rachel laughed. âAt most, Thomas was just a playmate. Moreover, every time I played with
Thomas, Lucas was also present.â
As long as David said that he did not believe Rachel, Rachel would immediately
call Lucas to prove her innocence.
Hearing Rachelâs explanation, the coldness between Davidâs eyebrows faded a little. His gloomy gaze
gradually softened. He realized that he might have been too nervous. He sighed slightly and gently
stroked the top of Rachelâs head with his palm. âI will believe anything you say.â
As David got up, Rachel propped herself on the vintage couch with both arms. âYouâre not angry
anymore?â
âYes,â David replied gloomily. He turned his gaze to Rachelâs hand and frowned imperceptibly. He
lowered his voice and said, âRemember to wear the ring after you go back.â
Rachel was slightly stunned.
Currently, it was not appropriate to announce her relationship with David to the public. Her maternal
grandfather, Arthur Johnson, also felt that it was
inappropriate to wear the ring before the wedding ceremony, so he asked her to take it off.
From Rachelâs point of view, even if she didnât wear the ring, she still belonged with David in this life.
However, she did not expect David to be brooding over it.
She smiled. âOkay.â
After David regulated his emotions, he straightened his tie and turned around to leave.
Unexpectedly, Rachel grabbed the corner of Davidâs shirt and looked at him pitifully. âArenât you a little
irresponsible to run away after kissing me?â
Her cold tone softened like the tinkling spring water in a mountain stream, inexplicably stirring Davidâs
heart.
