Chapter 510
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
Chapter 510
Mary played another stroke, but she missed the hole this time.
When it was Rachelâs turn to play, Mary held the cue stick with both hands and continued to say, âJust
now, when you werenât around, Shane from the fourth branch of the Page family was being a
blabbermouth. Not only did he talk about you behind your back, but he also talked about Sophia. Lucas
and I got back at him for you.â
Rachel arched her eyebrow. âWhat did Shane say?â
Due to the relationship between the fourth branch of the Page family and Eleanor Johnson, it was
inevitable to hear some rumors about the Johnson family.
However, Rachel was a little curious about what Shane had said to make Lucas angry.
Maryâs eyebrows twitched slightly. âDo you like to get upset? Since Shane was discussing behind your
back, it mustâve been something bad.â
It was obvious that Mary did not intend to let Rachel hear those filthy words.
Sensing Maryâs intention, Rachel did not continue to ask. Instead, Rachel looked up at Lucas.
Lucas sat lazily on the black leather sofa with his arm resting on the backrest. The sleeves of his white
shirt were rolled up to his arms, revealing his muscular forearms. His clean and slender fingers were
holding a cigarette.
Amidst the smoke, Lucasâ exquisite face could be vaguely seen.
As if sensing Rachelâs gaze, Lucas suddenly looked up.
The moment Lucasâ gaze met Rachelâs, the fierceness in his eyes disappeared, and a hint of
gentleness appeared.
Lucas put out the cigarette in his hand and walked toward Rachel with one hand in his pocket. âHow
about we play a round?â
âSure.â Rachel held the cue stick with one hand and tapped the cue stick with her fingertips. She raised
her eyebrows and looked at Lucas. A meaningful smile flashed across the depths of her pretty eyes.
âWhatâs the bet?â
Lucas wiped the cue stick with a chalk cube and said casually, âUp to you.â
âIn that case, the limited edition Aventador-J in your garage.â
Actually, that was not the most expensive car in Lucasâ garage. However, it was a limited edition car,
and there was only one in the world.
Only such a unique car would be worthy of David.
Lucasâ eyebrows twitched fiercely, but his eyes were filled with doting indulgence. âYou win!â
Rachel smiled. âYou flatter me.â
The game took an hour and a half and ended with a narrow victory for Rachel.
Lucas put down the cue stick and said calmly, âGo to the garage when you have time.â
âWellâ¦â Rachel spoke tentatively.
Lucas looked at Rachel and waited patiently for her to finish what she was saying.
âCan you help me customize the voice system? Itâs best to set it to my voice.â
âRachel, youâre really narcissistic.â
Before Lucas could finish speaking, Mary said, âDo you think sheâs preparing the car for herself?â
Under Lucasâ gaze, Mary continued to say, âItâs most likely⦠a birthday gift prepared for Mr. Jones!â
Hearing this, Lucasâ face darkened at a speed visible to the naked eye. He secretly gritted his teeth.
âRachel, youâre using my money to coax a man. What an excellent player you are!â
Rachel raised her eyebrows arrogantly. âIâm making the best use of resources.â
As Rachel turned to leave, she suddenly thought of something and stopped in her tracks. âRemember
to replace the glass with bulletproof glass.
After saying that, Rachel left Lucas cursing on the spot.
In the blink of an eye, night fell.
Under the guidance of the hotel butler, Rachel returned to her room to rest.
The hotel had a total of five floors. At the end of the top floor was the presidential suite.
Rachelâs room happened to be next door to the presidential suite.
Standing on the balcony, Rachel could see the open-air balcony of the
presidential suite and the outdoor swimming pool.
Rachel curled up on the rattan swing chair hung on the balcony. She fiddled with her phone with both
hands and checked the relevant information on her boyfriendâs gift.
Suddenly, she heard footsteps coming from next door, followed by two voices. deliberately lowered.
