Chapter 518
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
Chapter 518
Dan pursed his lips and finally could not suppress the curiosity in his heart. He asked carefully. âWhoâs
this lady?â
Lucas answered calmly. âThis is my sister.â
It was meant to be a casual introduction, but when it reached the ears of Dan and the others, they
heard something very different.
Dan raised his eyebrows and smiled vaguely. He responded meaningfully, âI understand. I understand.â
They were friends first. Then she became his sister and finally became his girlfriend.
Looking at his expression, Lucas knew that Dan must have misunderstood.
He considered explaining it further, but ultimately opted against it after realizing that Rachelâs true
identity would be hard to reveal.
âLetâs go and have a look.â
âOkay.â
Everyone in the room noticed Lucas and Rachel as soon as they walked in, even Olivia, who had just
been talking to someone else.
Speaking of which, Olivia and Rachel had not met for a long time.
However, this did not stop Olivia from hating Rachel.
Her hands, which had been at her sides, balled into fists as soon as she caught sight of Rachelâs
beautiful face.
Someone close to her just said in a hushed voice, âI heard that Mr. Johnson taught the Page family a
lesson yesterday. I heard that guy is still lying in the hospital.â
âIs that why Shane is absent today?â
âYou might call his run-in with Mr. Johnson a stroke of bad luck. He can only admit that heâs unlucky.â
âBut I heard that the boy from the Shain family was also sent overseas because of him.â
These people were not in Lucasâs circle, but they had heard of Lucasâs stunts.
Lucas was unusual and stubbornly insisted on doing things his own way.
Otherwise, he wouldnât have reached out to the Shain and Page families on the Chamber of
Commerceâs big day.
This was no different from slapping someone in the face in front of their family.
Olivia had also heard about the things that the people around her were talking about. However, she
had only heard about it from Marina.
She lowered her eyes to hide the coldness in her eyes and sighed softly. âI heard that Hannah was
forced to take off her clothes and apologize in public. This matter was indeed a little too much. Sheâs a
girl after all. Her reputation was ruined just like that. I wonder if weâll meet again in the future.â
When everyone heard this, they looked at each other and didnât say anything.
Whether they would meet again someday, they all knew it in their hearts.
If they were fated to meet again, the Shain family would not have sent Hannah overseas overnight.
By doing this, the Shain family would probably give up on her.
Olivia sent a mocking glare in their direction. Those people were all cowards.
They would probably just talk about her behind her back and make up little squabbles. Each one of
them would pretend to be clueless if the situation demanded it.
She also knew that if she continued this conversation, she would be seen as the first to speak, so she
simply turned the blame to Rachel without batting an eyelid.
âPeople say that a man would do anything for the beauty he loved, and looking at her appearance, she
definitely has that ability.â
Actually, everyone had already noticed Rachel.
After all, with such a pretty face, it was difficult not to attract attention.
âYouâre just relying on your looks. Whatâs there to be proud of!â There was a disdainful voice rang from
the crowd.
Olivia looked in the direction of the voice and saw Brenda, the daughter of the Duncan family, standing
silently behind.
Brendaâs identity was rather special.
The Duncan family had always kept an extremely low profile.
Although they were not the Four Families of Seaxas, she had a hardworking and capable brother.
Rumor had it that he and Lucas served together in the army back in the day. At this point in time, he
served in the military at a very prominent rank.
Because of this relationship, the Duncan familyâs status was not considered low.
Brenda was the daughter of the Duncan family. They were already in their golden. years when they had
her. She was physically frail because of her youth. As a result of the excessive pampering she
received, she developed a spoiled personality.
