Chapter 53
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
âLouisâ¦â Seeing Louis coming forward, Olivia hurriedly snuggled into his arms as if seizing a lifeâ
saving straw. Her body trembled uncontrollably, and she said with a slight tremor, âI was just joking with
Rachel. I didnât expect her to take it seriouslyâ¦â
Tears continuously rolled down her cheeks as Olivia complained to Louis.
Nearly feeling heartbroken when seeing Oliviaâs tearful face, Louis secretly gritted his teeth and asked
coldly, âRachel Grey, you must have heard it. Olivia said she was joking. Is it necessary for you to hit
her so hard?â
âJoking?â Rachelâs lips curved into a sarcastic smile, and she rebutted, âWho would take othersâ life as
a joke? Oh, I forgot that Olivia is the best person in the world for you. Even if she farts, you will think it
smells like perfume!â
âYou!â Annoyed and frustrated by Rachelâs mockery, Louis stared at her fiercely and added, âI order you
to apologize to Olivia immediately!â
âLouis Smith, are you an idiot? If she didnât provoke me, would I have fought back?â Rachel darted a
cold stare at Louis and said. Then, suddenly, a faint sneer crossed her delicate face, and she added,
âWell, I can apologize, but she has to kneel and listen!â
Hearing Rachelâs request, Olivia promptly burrowed into Louisâ arms in fear. Feeling the woman
trembling in his arms, Louis was distressed. He wrapped his arms around Oliviaâs waist and hugged
Olivia tighter.
âRachel Grey!â Louis then huffed, staring at Rachel with disgust and hatred. âWhat makes you so evil
now?â
âShut up! You know nothing about me at all!â Rachel looked impassively at Louis with a piercing
coldness in her eyes. âAn eye for an eye has always been my motto!â
Louis scowled at Rachel, and his eyes darkened as he roared, âYouâre being irrational!â Rachel curled
up the corners of her mouth indifferently. She darted a sharp gaze at Olivia before saying, âOlivia
Cruise, you are a public figure, and you ought to behave yourself. Have you ever considered what
would happen if the public knew your indifferent attitude toward othersâ lives? You have just returned to
this country; it is a critical moment for you to build your reputation now. If what happened tonight is
exposed, your acting career would end, right?â
Rachelâs steely and cold voice came slowly and firmly, and every word pounded on Oliviaâs head,
making her heart heavier.
Hearing Rachelâs words, Olivia avoided her eyes, which were flustered.
She had intended to teach Rachel a lesson and secure a leading position over her, but she didnât
expect Rachel to strike her back. Moreover, Olivia didnât bargain on giving Rachel ammunition.
At that moment, Oliviaâs heart was overflowing with bitterness.
Suddenly, someone broke the silence. âMiss Grey, Mr. Jones is waiting for you,â said Eddie, who exited
the car and walked straight to Rachel with a polite and respectful smile.
Seeing who had approached her, Rachel nodded lightly, brushed the dirt off her clothes, and turned to
exit.
Oliviaâs eyes were filled with unwillingness and disappointment as she watched Rachel leave safe and
sound. However, the sharp pain in her arm prevented her from stopping Rachel.
She then swirled around and burrowed her face into Louisâ chest while watching Rachel bending down
to get into the RollsâRoyce parked by the roadside.
The moment the car door opened, Rachel vaguely caught sight of the man sitting in the car.
The man was wearing a suit with an elegant posture.
The dim light set off his chiseled features, and his sharp jawline revealed his stoic disposition.
âWho is that man?
âWhy have I never seen him in Seaxas before?â Olivia thought curiously.
