Chapter 532
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
Chapter 532
A loud slap landed squarely on the assistantâs body.
The assistant sta**ered and fell to the ground in a sorry state. There was a trace of blood at the corner
of her mouth, and her face was visibly red and swollen.
âDonât pretend to be innocent here! What were you doing earlier?â Olivia glanced at Rachel. Then, she
snorted and looked down at the assistant who had fallen to the ground. âYou have to admit your
mistake! Whatâs the point of hiding here like a coward? Do you expect me to cover for you and pay for
your mistakes?
âLooking at my humble apology, you must be very happy! You didnât even blame. me for slapping you. I
gave you a way out with good intentions, but you still insist on being high and mighty. You deserve to
suffer for it!â
Oliviaâs words sounded like she was criticizing her assistant for not admitting her mistake and
apologizing. However, judging from her words and actions, she was clearly using the pretext of
criticizing her assistant to speak to Rachel!
Noticing this, Marina did not stop Olivia. Instead, she sat on the sofa and lowered her head to admire
her newly-made manicure. She smiled faintly with a hint of coldness.
In her opinion, Rachel was so arrogant because she was spoiled!
Marina had already given Rachel a gesture of respect by bringing her people to apologize.
Since Rachel did not respect her gesture of respect, Marina naturally wouldnât indulge her anymore.
After all, in her eyes, Rachel was not qualified to marry into the Jones family.
âAt the end of the day, sheâs just like a dog you keep around.â Marina lowered her head and said slowly,
âOf course, she has to spoil you and respect you, Otherwise, where do you think she gets her
confidence to be arrogant and bully others?â
Marinaâswords were even harsher, and her hostility towards Rachel was obvious. However, Rachel did
not seem to understand Marina at all. She only looked up at Marina expressionlessly.
âTry it.â David handed the peeled apple to Rachel.
Then, David raised his indifferent eyes and glanced at Marina. A hint of coldness flickered through his
clear eyes. âA dog must be intelligent enough to rely on its ownerâs power to bully others. A dog must
know which master to follow. But if the master cannot even protect themselves, how can they be
trusted to care about the life and death of their dog?â
The expression on Marinaâs face changed slightly. There was a terrifying coldness. hidden in her eyes,
but she still maintained a smile. âDavid, what do you mean?â
âI meant what I said.â David took out a tissue and wiped his long fingers clean. His tone carried a
chilling coldness as if his lips were coated with a layer of ice. âI respect you as an elder, but if you donât
know how to appreciate it, then I have no need to consider our blood tie.â
Upon hearing this, Marina could no longer maintain her smile. Her fingers on the sofa silently tightened,
and her sharp nails pierced deeply into the sofa. She said furiously, âDavid, Iâm your aunt!â
Compared to the other branches of the Jones family, she was the daughter born after ten months of
pregnancy from Old Mrs. Jones herself, making her the biological aunt of David.
With that, the room fell into a strange silence.
The sound of Rachel chewing on the apple became especially clear, but it did not sound harsh.
David caught a glimpse of Rachel nibbling on the apple. Her elegant movements were like a noble cat
eating slowly.
His icy demeanor softened slightly as he spoke to Marina, âIf you donât know how to behave like the
other branches of the family and stay out of trouble, I can give you some free lessons. Even if my
grandma finds out, I donât think sheâll object.â
