Chapter 533
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
Chapter 533
Davidâs tone was indifferent and slow, carrying a chilling deterrence.
As soon as he finished speaking, the room fell into a dead silence. The air seemed to have condensed
into an invisible layer of ice, suddenly lowering the temperature.
Marina felt as if she had been struck by lightning. Her pupils constricted.
David had probably received Old Mr. Jonesâs true teachings. Despite his calm and composed
demeanor, there was still a terrifying intimidation emitting from him. It pressed down on her heart for no
reason, making her not dare to breathe.
Marina narrowed her eyes and stared at David.
David didnât reveal any hint on the surface, but his delicate brows and eyes were hiding a ruthless aura.
âDavid, how dare you against me!â Marina pretended to be calm, but her low and gentle voice was
mixed with an uncontrollable tremble. It showed that she was afraid of David.
After all, David was the annoying brat that Mr. Johnson had personally trained! If he really went crazy,
he wouldnât care about any blood ties at all!
Marina would never forget how David had climbed to his current position!
She would never forget how David tortured his uncles who opposed his advancement bit by bit!
David looked up. His eyes were filled with coldness. âYou can try.â
It was a light sentence, but it was like a heavy stone pressing down on someoneâs heart, making
Marina hold her breath.
Marina gritted her teeth and straightened her neck, swallowing the unwillingness in her throat.
She was actually afraid!
However, her intuition told her that if she were to fall out with David at this moment, she might not even
be able to walk out of this door.
And beside Marina, Olivia was feeling extremely uneasy and anxious at this
moment.
Even though her chest was beating violently, she did not dare to breathe.
After a long while, Marina kicked the assistant who was lying on the ground. She no longer had her
usual noble and elegant posture. She roared angrily, âWhat are you waiting for? Apologize now!â
The assistant who was kicked snapped back to her senses. âMiss Grey, Iâm sorry. Everything that
happened today is my fault. As long as youâre willing to forgive me, Iâm willing to turn myself in.â
Rachel lowered her eyes. When she heard this, she looked up at the assistant. âI hope youâll keep your
word.â
Hearing this, Olivia secretly heaved a sigh of relief.
The assistant glanced at the expression on Oliviaâs face and quickly nodded. âYes, yes, yes. Please
donât worry, Miss Grey!â
âThen, letâs forget about this matter. We wonât disturb your rest anymore,â Olivia said calmly.
Rachel lowered her eyes as if she did not hear Olivia.
The smile on Oliviaâs face faded. Before she could flare up, Marina let out a cold snort and said,
âHmph, letâs go!â
When Marina left with Olivia and the assistant, the atmosphere in the room was no longer as
oppressive as before.
Jimmy sneered mockingly and said, âTsk, Miss Marina will definitely go crying to her mother after being
wronged like this!â
âItâs been like this all these years, hasnât it?â Landon looked at Jimmy. âWe have gotten used to it long
ago.â
Hearing their conversation, Rachel looked worried. âOld Mrs. Jones, sheâ¦â
Although Davidâs protection made Rachel feel warm, she did not want there to be a gap between Old
Mrs. Jones and David.
David held her hand. âGrandma knows what to do.â
