Chapter 538
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
Chapter 538
The next morning, Rachel washed up and went downstairs for breakfast.
While eating, she looked up at David. âLend me your car later.â
While Rachel was recuperating these few days, she planned to go to the studio to take a look at the
production of the wedding dress.
âTake your pick from the garage,â David said generously.
Rachelâs eyes flickered with excitement.
Davidâs garage had more cars than Lucas, including many priceless car models.
She finished her breakfast quickly, eager to choose the car.
However, David spoiled the mood by sitting in the driverâs seat.
âYou want to be a driver?â Rachel stood in front of the car and looked at David with raised eyebrows.
David smiled. âIâm your exclusive driver.â
Rachel thought that having the prestigious David as her exclusive driver was quite an honor.
Just like that, under Davidâs escort, Rachel successfully arrived at the wedding dress studio.
âYou came just in time.â Mary, who had received the news, quickly walked out of the office. âYulia will
be coming over to try on the template sample dress later. Itâs a good opportunity to introduceâ¦â
Before Mary could finish her sentence, she saw Rachel limping and could not help but curse, âSh*t!
What happened!â
Rachel said nonchalantly, âItâs just a small injury.â
âThen what do you call a serious injury?â Mary asked, âDoes it have to be a broken arm or leg?â
Rachel did not answer Mary and walked straight towards the spiral staircase. âLetâs talk in your office.â
As soon as they entered the office, Rachel gave a simple explanation.
Mary muttered angrily, âNo wonder everyone was talking about the grand opening of Danâs horse ranch
yesterday. They said it was unprecedented. I even Ireard that someone took the initiative to compete
with Brenda. So that person was you.â
Yesterday, Mary had something on and didnât go. Otherwise, she would have followed Jimmy to join in
the fun.
When Jimmy came back, Mary asked him about the horse ranch. He stammered and only said that he
had watched a horse race.
âThen what happened to your leg?â Mary handed the coffee cup to Rachel.
Rachel lowered her eyes and glanced at her foot, which was slowly starting to recover from the injury.
There was a subtle cold glint in the depths of her eyes as she spoke, âIt was just an accident.â
Mary frowned slightly and was about to say something when Rachelâs phone suddenly rang.
The words were on the tip of her tongue, but Mary had no choice but to swallow them. She picked up
her coffee and took a sip.
Rachel swiped the phone screen with her fingertips and picked up the call.
âRachel, itâs me.â Lilyâs sweet and gentle voice came through the phone. âRachel, itâs Dadâs birthday in
a few days. He said that he misses you a lot/since we havenât seen each other in these years. He
hopes that you can come home and have a good reunion dinner with our family.â
âReunion dinner?â A mocking smile appeared on Rachelâs lips. âDo I know you very well?â
The bright light shone on Rachelâs flawless face, making the coldness between her â eyebrows even
clearer.
Hearing her words, Lily choked on the words she had prepared.
She pondered for a moment before speaking again. âRachel, Dad has already forgiven you for what
happened back then. Why do you have to take it to heart and cause our family to drift apart?â
Rachel sneered and said slowly, âFamily? But where were you when I was left to starve and freeze in
the snow?â
âIâ¦â Lily was at a loss for words.
