Chapter 557
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
Chapter 557
Hearing Oliviaâs words, Lynn was so angry that she laughed. âOlivia Cruise, you know very well who is
distorting the truth and who is blame-shifting!â
Originally, they had agreed that Lynn would take the blame and turn herself in. When this matter was
over, Olivia would think of a way to get her out.
However, when Lynn really took on everything, Olivia abandoned her.
Not only did Olivia send someone to ask Lynn to admit all her crimes, but she also threatened her with
the gambling debt that her brother owed. As long as Lynn listened obediently and cooperated with her,
anything that could be resolved with money would not be a problem.
However, this matter couldnât be considered insignificant.
Once she confessed, it would be the most difficult stain to crase in her life.
All these years, she had been studying hard to get rid of the misfortune her family had brought her. She
even had the thought of escaping.
And Oliviaâs disregard for her was equivalent to restraining her firmly with the heaviest shackles.
She would not use her life to pay for those people who treated her as a tool, nor would she allow any
stains to appear in her life!
Olivia secretly gritted her teeth. âLynn, who would believe what you said? You were the one who
admitted everything in front of Rachel Grey. These surveillance cameras were all filming. Now, youâre
biting back. Do
you think everyone is a fool who can be teased by you?â
âYou know best who was fooling everyone!â Lynn knew that she could not win against Olivia in talking,
so she stopped talking nonsense with her. âYou have the video as evidence. How do you know that I
donât. haveâ¦
Before she could finish speaking, an external force suddenly pulled her away.
Before Lynn could react, someone slapped her hard on the face.
This slap caught her off guard. Lynn stag gered and almost fell to the ground.
She barely managed to stabilize herself. Her ears were buzzing, and her face was numb at first. Then,
it gradually began to burn and hurt.
Lynn was in a daze as she slowly raised her hand to cover her swollen cheek.
A hysterical roar echoed in her ears. âIâll beat you to death, you traitor. Do you have to anger me to
death before you stop?â
She slowly opened her eyes and saw her mother scolding her with a ferocious expression. An
imperceptible sadness surfaced in her eyes.
âIâve taught you since you were young that you have to have a conscience. If you do something
heartless, youâll be struck by lightning. But what youâve done!â Mrs. Wright raised her hand and combed
her messy hair. She stretched out her finger and poked her chest forcefully. âMiss Cruise helped you
when you were and helped our family when we were in the most difficult time. Not only are you not
grateful, but you even want to bite back! Youâre going to suffer retribution!
âHeavens, why am I so unlucky to have given birth to such a cold-blooded, heartless evil creature!â
Mrs. Wright was not very cultured but had lived in the countryside for many years. Her ability to throw a
tantrum and cry was superb.
For a moment, the entire venue was filled with her sorrowful cries.
When everyone saw this, not only did they not sympathize, but they even revealed mocking
expressions and looked at her as if they were watching a joke.
Lynn looked at her mother coldly.
Suddenly, she sneered. âDo you regret not strangling me when you gave birth to me?*
Her tone was indifferent and calm as if she was talking about the most ordinary thing.
When Mrs. Wright heard this, the crying expression on her face froze for a moment, looking
exceptionally comical.
Looking at her comical expression, Lynn said indifferently again, âActually, not strangling me back then
was the worst decision youâve made in your lifeâ
She paused for a moment and raised her hand to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. âIf you strangled
me to death. I might have already been reincarnated elsewhere. Because even becoming a cat or dog
is better than being your daughter.â
Upon hearing this, Mrs. Wrightâs expression changed drastically. She got up from the ground in
embarrassment and anger. âDa mn you! Youâve lost your mind. How dare you be so rude in front of
me!â
Just as she was about to flare up, she suddenly heard Olivia coughing.
Mrs. Wright suddenly had an epiphany. Her gaze involuntarily landed on Olivia Cruise. She stiffly
pursed her lips and revealed an embarrassed smile. Then, she glared fiercely at Lynn.
She had almost been led astray by this da mn girl!
âNo matter how much you complain about me, Iâm still your mother!â She snorted angrily. âI donât care
who you received benefits from. But donât even think about slandering Miss Cruise with me around!â
Seeing Lynnâs indifferent expression, Mrs. Wrightâs sullen face changed a little. She held Lynnâs hand
and comforted her earnestly, âLynn, you have to know how to repay the kindness. Donât push your
luck!â
She didnât know why Lynn suddenly changed her attitude, recanted her statement, and turned against
Olivia.
However, Olivia had personally promised her that as long as Lynn admitted her guilt today, not only
would she be willing to pay for Lambertâs medical expenses, but she could also help him pay off his
gambling debts and take care of them until Lynn was released from prison.
The couple was greedy for money and did not care about Lynnâs life.
âLynn, donât you dote on your brother the most? Can you really bear to see your brother lying in the
hospital with no one to take care of him?â At the mention of her son lying in the hospital, Mrs. Wright
seemed to have hit a nerve. Her voice actually became a little choked. âYour brother is still lying in the
hospital in a coma. If it werenât for Miss Cruiseâs help, you might not have been able to see him!â
Lynn had expected her motherâs attitude.
All these years, no matter what happened, her parents never cared about her feelings. Her brother,
Lambert Wright, was always right.
In the past, she could not fight against fate, but this time, she wanted to fight for it!
Lynn looked up at her mother, who was chattering non-stop in front of her. She pulled her hand away
bit by bit and asked indifferently, âWhat about me?â
âAh?â Mrs. Wright was slightly stunned and looked at Lynn in confusion.
Lynn spoke again. âYouâve been thinking about Lambert all these years? What about me? What should
I do?â
âWhat do you mean what should you do!â Mrs. Wright pursed her lips and smiled awkwardly. âYou did
something wrong. Miss Cruise ignored it and was still willing to help our family. We should thank her
properly. Besidesâ¦â
She paused for a moment and glanced at the police officer with some reservations. She whispered into
Lynnâs ear, âMiss Cruise said that she would help you take care of us. Donât worry.â
When Lynn heard this, a trace of sadness appeared in her eyes.
It turned out that her life and future were worthless in front of money!
She sneered openly. âSo youâre forcing your biological daughter to go to jail for a promise without any
proof?â
Mrs. Wrightâs heart tightened, and her eyes flickered with panic. âWhat do you mean by I forced you to
go to jail? Itâs clear that youâ¦
âEnough!â Lynn interrupted her sternly. She took a deep breath and turned to look at Olivia with a faint
smile. âMiss Cruise, I wonder if I can use the podium for a while?â
