Chapter 574
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
Chapter 574
Davidâs palm tightened a little, making Rachel involuntarily gasp. She didnât know if he was doing that
on purpose or not.
She looked up at David.
Her clear almond eyes were looking at him with a hint of innocence.
However, David did not ignore the slyness that flashed across her eyes.
She was clearly doing this on purpose to arouse his sympathy and make him feel bad for her.
On the other end of the phone, Oscar heard the noise and hurriedly asked, âMiss Grey, whatâs wrong?
Are you alright?â
âIâm fine,â Rachel said and hung up.
She casually threw the phone aside and rubbed her feet on Davidâs legs restlessly, tugging the corner
of his shirt with her toes.
She was seducing him right now but she pretended to be so nice and innocent. âWhy are you looking at
me like that?â
âWhat do you think?â David raised his eyebrows, his eyes darkening.
He grabbed her slender ankle.
Rachel got goosebumps the moment she felt the heat of his palm on her skin.
She instinctively pulled away, but her ankle was held tightly by the man.
Rachelâs heart started racing.
Oh no, she had provoked him way too much!
âDavid, Iâ¦â
Before she could finish her sentence, Davidâs hand that was holding her ankle suddenly pulled down.
Rachel was caught off guard and fell onto the sofa.
David parted her legs with his knees and knelt on one knee on the sofa. He placed his hands on both
sides of her head and leaned down to look down at her.
His well-defined face was a little gloomy, and his dark eyes were like a bottomless lake that no one
could see through.
âTell me, what should I do when my fiancée is flirting with another man in front of me?â he asked in a
low and husky voice.
Rachel blinked and pondered for a moment before saying calmly, âI think men should be more
generous.â
Hearing this, David narrowed his eyes. He was obviously dissatisfied with what Rachel just said. âWhat
about women?â
âAs a woman, promises are not as effective as actual actions.â As she spoke, she grabbed Davidâs tie
and forced him to lower his head to her as her soft lips pressed against his cold lips.
The sudden kiss made David shudder.
Instinctively, he quickly came to his senses and took control.
His kiss was as domineering as ever, not giving Rachel any chance to escape.
When he bit Rachelâs lips, she couldnât help but frown. âAhâ¦â
The air in her lungs was gradually sucked out as if all the strength in her body had been stolen away.
Her hand that was holding the manâs collar slowly lost its strength.
Just as she felt that she was about to pass out from suffocation, David let go of her.
He pressed his forehead against hers and stared at her with his dark eyes.
Rachel lay on the sofa with no strength left.
Her smooth long hair was spread on the sofa like fine silk, and her beautiful collarbone could be seen
in her messy and loose collar.
She opened her lips slightly as she was catching her breath. Her cheeks were blushing and turned
rosy.
She looked up at him and with one look, she could take anyoneâs breath away.
Davidâs swallowed and his eyes darkened. He ran his hand through her hair and rubbed it softly. âWere
you trying to play up to me just now?â
âI was trying to please you.â Rachel looked at him with a smile.
Her eyes were sparkling, and her red lips were curled into a bright smile, making her gorgeous face
even more dazzling.
Seeing that David didnât say anything, she (hoo ked) her legs around his lean waist and rolled over to
pin him down, sitting on top of him. âAre you still mad at me?â!
âWhat do you think?â David asked.
âIn my opinion, youâre not angry anymore.â Rachel smiled like a fox. âYouâre the most forgiving person
on the planet, right?â
David looked at her while she was being naughty and the coldness in his eyes faded a little.
He stood up and picked Rachel up in his arms. He pushed her long hair aside and rubbed her earlobe.
He said in his deep voice, âTell me about this Oscar.â
Rachel could not help but raise her eyebrows.
It seemed that if she didnât explain it to him clearly, this matter would not pass.
Noticing that he was rubbing behind her sensitive ears, she curled her fingers slightly and her body
stiffened unnaturally.
She subconsciously wanted to dodge, but her waist was tightly held by the manâs arm.
âRae-Rae, why are you so sensitive?â Davidâs lips were pressed against her temples as he whispered
in his deep and magnetic voice.
Rachel glanced at him. âDo you still want to hear what Iâm about to say?â
âGo ahead, Iâm listening.â
âItâs not a big deal. He probably just wants to repay me for saving his life.â
Hearing this, a hint of playfulness flashed across Davidâs eyes. âWhen did you save him?â
âFive years ago, in Phareborough.â Rachel turned over and sat on the seat beside him. She slowly
smoothed out the creases on her shirt and looked at the blazing sun outside the window, saying
indifferently. âAt that time, everything was very chaotic. People who were shot could be seen
everywhere on the street. He was one of them. It was just that he was much luckier than the others, so
I saved him.â
But now it seemed that he had a crush on her.
She was not some teenage girl who didnât know much about romance, so it was not difficult for her to
tell why he made this call and asked her out for dinner.
It was not that she was narcissistic, but Oscar, the legendary sharpshooter, was like a dumb teenager
who had his thoughts written all over his face.
âPhareborough is indeed the city with the most gunfights every year. The government has tried to
intervene. Obviously, the results were unsatisfactory.â David sensed Rachelâs low mood and stroked
her soft hair with his palm as if he was petting a cat.
Rachel looked at him. âYou seem to know Pharcborough very well.â
David smiled meaningfully. Iâve been there a few times. Maybe weâve even met before.â
âIs that possible?â Rachel felt that such a coincidence was too unrealistic.
David raised her eyebrows. âWhat do you think?â
Coincidentally, his phone rang.
He got up and answered the call.
The call was from Jimmy.
âDavid, Landon and I just received a batch of goods. Weâre rich now!â He shouted excitedly.
Compared to his excitement, David was quite calm. âGive the phone to Landon.â
On the other end of the line. Jimmy obediently passed the phone to Landon. âHere, he wants to talk to
you.â
Landon took his phone and lit a cigarette. âThis batch of goods is too big. Iâm afraid it wonât be process.
If Ronnie finds out, there will be another battle.â
This was a good worth tens of billions!
easy to
David narrowed her eyes as they flickered coldly. âDo you need me to teach you the phrase âdog eat
dog?â Hearing this, Landon smiled and said, âUnderstood.â
They were not good people to begin with, and when it came to âdog eat dogâ, no one did it better than
them.
After hanging up the phone, David returned to the sofa.
He realized that Rachel had fallen asleep on the sofa.
David looked at her with a smile and sighed.
This careless girl. They had been together for so long. Why hadnât she realized the fact that he was
that person?
