Chapter 579
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
Chapter 579
When Olivia left Winnieâs studio, she wanted to go shopping with Louis.
However, Louis refused on the grounds that something had happened to the company.
âSince you are busy, I wonât disturb you anymore.â Olivia pretended to be considerate and said,
âHowever, you still have to make time to accompany me to the charity banquet tonight. Otherwise, if
others see me alone, I donât know what gossip will arise.â
âGot it.â Louis grabbed her hand and turned to leave,
After he left, Oliviaâs face suddenly darkened. She took out her phone and called Louisâs assistant.
âHas Louis been socializing recently?â
âWell, recently, Mr. Smith went straight back home after he got off work,â the assistant said.
When Olivia heard this, her slightly furrowed brows relaxed slightly. âKeep an eye on him for me. Youâll
get a lot of benefits.â
The assistant knew well what was best for him and said respectfully, âYes, Madam.â
After hanging up, Olivia planned to get into the car and leave.
A car horn suddenly sounded behind her.
She turned around and saw the car window slowly roll down, revealing Marinaâs beautiful face.
âMarina?â Oliviaâs eyes flashed with surprise as she quickly walked forward. âWhy are you here?â
âI had some business up here,â Marina said. âGet in the car.â
Olivia nodded. âOkay.â
In the car, Olivia saw an invitation letter beside Marinaâs hand. âAre you attending the charity banquet
tonight too?â
Marina raised her eyes and glanced at Olivia indifferently. âWhy? Are you attending tonight?â
âThatâs right.â Olivia said, âThere was quite a commotion a few days ago. I have to think of a way to
salvage the situation.â
The charity banquet this time was different from the previous ones.
Every guest participating in it had to provide an item for the auction. It could also be the jewelry they
were wearing. The money raised in the auction would be handed over to a charity organization for
charity activities.
With such a rule, everyone would think of ways to show off.
After all, those who could participate were all from famous and influential families in Seaxas. Everybody
wanted to be superior to others.
In order to motivate everyone, the organizer had specially set up an auction.
The top five would have the right to bid for tonightâs heavyweight item.
It had to be known that everyone at this banquet was worth a lot of money, but the organizer had only
given them five places, which was enough to make the guests present fight for it.
In particular, the organizers had long prepared a blurred photo of the heavyweight item. It was as if they
had put a mysterious veil on it, which greatly piqued peopleâs curiosity.
âWell, in that case, Iâm suddenly a little interested in it.â Marina propped her forehead with her
fingertips, and a shrewd light flickered in the depths of her beautiful eyes.
Of course, she was not here for the last item. She wanted everyone to see how much money she had!
âAre you free later?â Marina looked at Olivia. âCome and help me choose a gown to wear tonight,
okay?â
Olivia smiled. âOf course.â
In Times Square.
Rachel had accompanied Mary for a day, but Mary had yet to find a suitable gown.
âThis is the sixth shop. Donât tell me you donât like any of them?â Rachel looked at Mary helplessly.
Mary shook her head. âItâs all your fault for making me picky.â
âI think itâs because youâre too hard to please.â Rachel said, âThereâs a new shop down the way. Do you
want to take a look?â
âLetâs go.â Mary grabbed Rachelâs arm and walked straight toward the clothing shop.
As soon as Mary entered, she took a fancy to the gown on the model and said to the shop assistant
beside her. âPlease get me an S of that one, thanks.â
âAlright, please wait a moment, the shop assistant said politely.
While waiting, Mary looked at Rachel, who was standing motionlessly at the side. âDid you see
anything you like?â
Rachel shook her head.
âI think this one suits you very well.â Mary took out a moon-white gown from the corner.
The gown was embroidered with high-quality golden threads, making it look lifelike. One could vaguely
smell its fragrance.
For some reason, this gown was hung in the corner. If it werenât for Maryâs astute observation, they
definitely wouldnât have noticed it.
Rachel reached out and gently twisted the fabric of the gown. âWell, not bad.â
âThen try it on,â Mary said as she stuffed the gown into Rachelâs arms and pushed her toward the fitting
room.
Rachel took a look at the size and found it just right for her, so she walked into the fitting room.
Ten minutes later, Rachel walked out of the fitting room in the gown.
The unique tailoring fitted Rachelâs body perfectly, vividly displaying her unique and charming curves.
There was a hint of s**iness in her elegance, and there was also a charming and extraordinary aura in
her coldness.
As she walked, her straight and slender legs were faintly discernible under the high slit of the gown,
which was especially eye-catching.
She was like a white rose that was dancing alone in the moonlight. She exuded a cold aura that could
only be seen from afar.
When she smiled, she was like the moon in the middle of the water. Her pure beauty seemed to be
within reach. When she did not smile, she was like the moon in the clouds, exuding a cold aura.
Mary looked at Rachelâs perfect waist-to-hip ratio and could not help but exclaimed in shock, âRae-Rae,
you must be an angel falling from Heaven!â
After all, Rachel was rich and beautiful, and had a good figure. She was simply Go dâs favorite!
âI guess that when Eve was fashioned, Go d must be thinking about you.â As Mary spoke, she could
not help but reach out and touch Rachelâs slim waist. âIf Mr. Jones sees this, he will one hundred
percent be knocked out by your beauty!â
A shy blush appeared on Rachelâs fair face. She smiled faintly and said, âOh, donât be so dramatic, will
you?â
Rachel turned to look at herself in the mirror.
The design of the gown was noble and elegant, but because of the high slit on the side, it looked a little
s*y.
However, the combination of the two features was not weird at all.
Especially the patterns embroidered on the gown, it exuded a gorgeous and elegant aura.
âGood choice, ladies! The shop assistant walked forward with her symbolic smile and said respectfully,
âThis gown is a limited edition that was just released, but because of the size, we havenât been able to
meet the fated person for it.â
Rachel nodded indifferently. âIâll take it.â
After changing her clothes, she took out a card from her bag.
When the shop assistant saw the color of the card, her expression changed.
It was actually the black gold card!
For a moment, the shop assistant looked at Rachel with respect. Her attitude was even more respectful
than before. She said in fear, âMadam, please have a rest in the waiting area for a moment.â
Rachel nodded slightly.
At this moment, in the fitting room next door, a loud slap sounded. Then, a shop assistant stumbled out
of the fitting room.
