Chapter 67
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
Rachel was stunned for a moment. She looked up at the man and could not help but smile gently from
the corner of her eyes.
This coldâlooking man always knew what she needed at the right moment.
For example, on the day she broke up with Louis, she walked alone in the heavy rain. That jacket just
eased her embarrassment. He said, âI think you need it now much more than I do.â And now he gave
her his jacket that was just enough to make her feel warm.
The cold wooden fragrance exclusive to the man lingered in her nose, making her heart beat
uncontrollably faster.
She could not help but tighten her coat and take a deep breath. She was a little lost in the smell that
belonged to him. âDavid, what perfume are you wearing?â
The words that came out of her mouth made Rachel feel awkward.
She secretly bit her tongue and felt that she must have been in over her head just now. Otherwise, she
could never say something so inappropriate like this.
Just as she was feeling vexed, she heard Davidâs low voice with a hint of a smile. âItâs customâmade. If
you like it, Iâll get Eddie to send it to you tomorrow.â
Rachel lowered his eyes and said calmly, âForget it. Itâs not suitable for me.â
âHow would you know if you donât give it a try?â David seemed to have understood the deeper meaning
in her words. The smile on her lips had a deeper meaning. âAn honest lifestyle is to act according to
oneâs bodyâs wishes. Just like how people choose to eat when theyâre hungry. Thereâs no need to lie
when they are in love.â
Rachelâs eyes flickered slightly. âBut who can guarantee that the temptation isnât used to fill the
emptiness and loneliness in oneâs heart?â
David chose to put her question aside in silence. After a moment of silence, he said again, âActually,
Iâve always regarded you as an accident.â
âAccident?â Rachelâs slender brows furrowed slightly, and a trace of coldness seeped out from between
her brows.
Since he only treated her as an accident, there was no need for him to barge into her life like this.
She wondered if he just wanted to make a fool of her, or if he just wanted to conquer her as
a man.
David looked at the woman who turned around and left. He hurriedly chased after her. âLet
go of me!â Rachel struggled with all her might.
David wrapped his arms around her waist forcefully. He was half gentle and half forceful as he pulled
her into his arms. âYou havenât even heard me out.â
âI donât think thereâs more you have to say than I need to hear!â Rachel rejected his request without any
hesitation. There was obvious anger in her tone.
It turned out that in his eyes, their relationship was just an accident.
Since that was the case, she didnât know why he had to get involved in her life these days. âWhat about
the dinner? What about the bunch of roses by the bed?â she thought.
âI didnât expect to meet you, but I did. I never thought that I would fall in love with you, but I couldnât
stop falling in love with you. This is the accident in my eyes.â David sighed softly.
âI understand your timidity. I can see the sensitive soul in your heart. You donât need to take the
initiative to do anything for me. Iâm willing to wait until you take the initiative to open your heart and
accept me. I can be sure that youâre mine for the rest of your life!â
The manâs deep voice became gentle, like the gentleness of the spring breeze, like a mountain stream
brushing past her heart, making Rachelâs heart beat wildly again.
She looked up at the man in front of her. The corners of his lips curled up into a smile, carrying an
insufferably arrogant aura that he rarely showed.
She swallowed and struggled gently. âItâs getting late. I should go home now.â
âGet in the car. Iâll drive you home.â
When the two of them crossed the road, David quietly reached out and hugged her waist.
Rachel raised her eyebrows slightly and glanced at him indifferently.
It had to be said that David was really good at testing a woman.
She didnât know how much longer she could hold on.
