Rachel walked along the corridor, intending to head to the room where David had mentioned many

treasures were hidden. However, she was unintentionally drawn to a painting hanging on the wall.

The painting depicted a beautiful manor, but its presence resembled a sky garden from a fairy tale

story. The castle-like house was surrounded by countless blooming flowers.

The manor seemed to be coated in a faint layer of golden light under the setting sun, creating a

mysterious and hazy atmosphere.

It wasn’t difficult to imagine that the actual place would be even more magnificent than the Peckham

Palace.

As she stood there, she heard footsteps approaching from behind.

She turned and saw a group of people entering from the doorway.

David was leading the way, followed by Jimmy, Landon, and an unfamiliar woman.

“What are you looking at?” David approached, noticing the painting behind her. His brow furrowed

imperceptibly as he asked. “Are you interested in this?”

Rachel slowly descended the staircase. “Just casually looking since I’m bored.”

Her gaze passed David as she sized up the two unfamiliar faces.

The unfamiliar woman seemed to be related to Landon. Their beautiful faces bore a striking similarity.

The bright eyes on the woman’s face, however, added a touch of charm.

Sensing Rachel’s scrutiny, the woman also unabashedly looked her over.

However, there was a barely perceptible trace of hostility in her eyes.

Rachel’s exceptionally eye-catching appearance undoubtedly made her the most conspicuous

presence in any crowd.

Even the eldest daughter of the prestigious Clifford family, renowned for her unparalleled beauty in

Aureliana, would likely pale in comparison to Rachel.

At that moment, David wrapped his arm around Rachel’s waist, and his deep, magnetic voice slowly

rang out, “My fiancée, Rachel Grey.”

The woman’s eyes widened in disbelief, filled with astonishment and shock.

Without waiting for her to speak, David introduced the woman to Rachel, “This is Georgia Walker,

Landon’s younger sister.”

Rachel nodded, then looked at the woman and greeted, “Hello.”

“Hello.” Georgia recovered from her shock, and forced a smile. “I heard you used to live in Seaxas,

where the air is quite humid. Are you getting used to living here?”

Rachel sat down next to David and replied indifferently. “It’s alright”

Unlike Georgia’s extroverted personality, Rachel tended to warm up slowly.

This was especially so with strangers.

However, she had no choice but to patiently converse with Georgia since Georgia was Landon’s sister

and David’s guest.

At this point, Georgia took out a cigarette from her pocket and was about to light it when Landon snat

ched it away from her.

Seeing his exaggerated reaction, Georgia looked at him, puzzled. “What’s the big deal? You startled

me.”

“Mind your manners,” Landon said.

Georgia blinked and then chuckled. “I smoked quite a bit when we were together before. Why can’t I

smoke now?

“Oops, I forgot to ask Miss Grey’s opinion.” Georgia suddenly seemed to remember Rachel. “We’ll

have many more opportunities to meet in the future. You wouldn’t mind, would you, Miss Grey?”

She seemed like she was asking for Rachel’s opinion, but she was giving Rachel no chance to speak

at all. Instead, it gave a pressing and unpleasant feeling, making Rachel very uncomfortable.

However, she wasn’t so squeamish as to be unable to tolerate the smell of smoke.

Rachel put on a faint smile and said, “Suit yourself.”

Georgia took out another cigarette, lit it, and slowly exhaled the smoke after taking a puff. “Miss Grey,

At this moment, Jimmy asked, “David, I heard that you were attacked on your way back this afternoon.

Did you find out who did it?”

She did not expect Jimmy to mention this matter directly in front of Rachel.

Could it be that David trusted Rachel so much that he did not guard against her?

Beside them, Landon timely intervened, “The Mercedes-Benz G636X6 is not common in Aureliana. It

shouldn’t be too difficult if we really want to investigate the matter.”

David’s indifferent eyes did not move at all as he coldly said, “No need.”

“David said it’s not necessary, so you guys shouldn’t worry,” Georgia leaned forward and crushed her

cigarette in the ashtray. “Besides, if you have the time and energy, it would be better to assign some

people to protect Miss Grey. After all, she’s new here and unfamiliar with Aureliana. It’s not as peaceful

here as it is in Seaxas.”

Feeling embarrassed, Rachel switched her phone to vibrate mode. “Sorry, I have some personal

matters to deal with.”

Saying this, she hurriedly left with her phone.

Watching her leave, Georgia’s eyes narrowed slightly. “Haven’t any of you ever suspected her?”

Upon hearing this, Landon fiercely elbowed her in response.

However, Georgia remained indifferent to Landon’s warning and continued on her own, “It’s too much

of a coincidence that David was attacked right after returning to Aureliana!

“David has blatantly brought her back to Aureliana this time, attracting the attention of so many people.

guarantee they won’t make a move on her!”
