Chapter 744
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
Chapter 744
Adrian, who had always been calm no matter what happened in front of him, panicked. when he saw
Rachelâs half-smile.
He pursed his lips and glanced at Jessica, who he had protected with his clothes. His words were filled
with flattery. âRae-Rae, can I trouble you to leave for a while?â
âAlright.â Rachel nodded and took a deep look at Jessica, who was wrapped in his clothes. She stood
up and walked out of the office.
In the office, Jessica suddenly had the strength to push Adrian away. She threw his suit jacket on the
ground as if she was venting her anger. âMr. Johnson, are you forcing me now?â
Perhaps it was because it was difficult to breathe under the suit jacket, or perhaps it was because of
other reasons, Jessicaâs fair cheeks were dyed with an alluring blush. Her pair of amorous eyes were
curled into a perfect arc, and every frown and smile revealed an unknowing charm.
Even though she was furious, she looked even more lively and moving.
Adrian looked at her face and could not help but reach out to grab her chin. However, before his hand
could touch Jessica, she slapped it away mercilessly. Her red lips were like ice as she said coldly,
âDonât touch me!â
These three words reminded Adrian of how after the event ended, she bent down and got into a manâs
car. The man hugged her, but Jessica did not resist. Instead, she was exceptionally compliant.
Now, he only wanted to touch her, but was rejected mercilessly.
The suppressed anger in his chest was instantly ignited. âIf I canât touch you, can those disgusting
perverts touch you? Jessica Tower, do you have any shame? Youâre maintaining a relationship with
me, but youâre seeing someone else on the side. Why are you so cheap?â This was the first time
Adrian had been swayed by jealousy and anger, so much so that he did not realize how hurtful the
words were until they came out of his mouth.
The manâs tone was light, but every word was like a knife cutting into Jessicaâs heart. Every breath she
took was heart-wrenching.
She clenched her fists and stared at Adrian.
Seeing her expression, Adrian felt as if his heart had been pierced by a needle.
His lips quivered, and he subconsciously wanted to explain.
Suddenly, Jessica chuckled and raised her hand to wipe away the saliva on her lips. She said
unhurriedly, âThatâs right. Iâm just that cheap. Itâs a pity that youâve just seen my true colors.â
After saying that, Jessica pushed Adrian away forcefully. She bent down to pick up her bag and turned
to leave without looking back.
Watching her leave, Adrian subconsciously chased after her. However, when he thought of the scene
of Jessica hugging other men, he forcefully suppressed the thought of chasing
after her.
Men should not compromise too much with women.
Every time he gave in, she would push her luck. This time, he had to make her lower her head and
admit her mistake!
Thinking of this, Adrian snorted angrily, pulled the chair over, and sat down.
Outside the office, Rachel had her back to the office and was looking out the window at the
street.
When she heard the door open behind her, she turned around lazily. When she saw Jessicaâs swollen
lips, she frowned imperceptibly.
Her uncle did not know how to be gentle with women.
âI still have something to do. Iâll leave first,â Jessica said and left without looking back. Seeing her
leave, Rachel glanced at the office again and caught Adrian cavesdropping at the door. Rachelâs frown
deepened. She did not understand what was going on with these two. She started to wonder if Adrian
tried to force himself on Jessica.
Thinking of this, Rachelâs face became more serious. She took a deep breath and walked into the office
with a straight face.
As soon as Rachel entered the office, she questioned bluntly, âWhen did Mr. Johnson, who is known as
the perfect gentleman, learn to force himself on others?â
Adrian was originally drinking a cup of coffee. When he heard this, he almost spat out the coffee in his
mouth.
Although he quickly swallowed it, he choked and coughed.
The coffee in the cup splashed on his suit.
He quickly put down the cup in his hand and wiped the coffee stains on his suit. He adjusted his
breathing and said, âYoung lady, how can you speak so rudely?â
âMr. Johnson can force a little girl, but he wonât allow anyone to criticize him?â Rachel leaned lazily on
the sofa with her arms crossed. She glanced at Adrian with a faint smile.
Her
gaze seemed to be saying, âYou dared to touch my folks. You should have thought that this day would
come!â
Adrian knew that Rachel had misunderstood, so he simply revealed his plan. âIf nothing goes wrong,
sheâll become your aunt.â
Rachel had never thought that her bestie would suddenly become her aunt.
She found it hard to accept.
However, Rachel was glad that Adrian was going to take responsibility and marry Jessica, which meant
he was not too bad after all.
But, something still worried her.
âIf nothing goes wrong?â Rachel repeated these words meaningfully. She raised her eyebrows slightly
and the corners of her mouth curled into an intriguing smile. âWhat if something did go wrong?â
Hearing this, Adrian stopped wiping his clothes and fell into a short silence.
He had never thought that something would go wrong.
From the moment he fell in love, he decided to marry Jessica.
If something indeed went wrong, he thought that thing must be that he was going to die.
He raised his eyelids and stared deeply at Rachel for a moment. His thin lips parted slightly. âNothing
will go wrong.â
It was a short sentence, just a few words, but the words revealed his determination.
Adrian pondered for a moment and threw the tissue from his hand into the trash can. He picked up the
cup again. âWhy did you suddenly come back from Aureliana?â
âI didnât plan to stay there from the start,â Rachel said calmly. âI came here to ask you something.â
Before she could finish speaking, a look of understanding flashed across Adrianâs eyes. âYou want to
ask about Olivia Cruise?â
Rachel nodded.
âI know youâre not that nice.â Adrian sneered. He opened a drawer and took out a file. It was obvious
that he was prepared.
He handed it to Rachel. âTake a look at this.â
When Rachel reached out to take it, Adrian was not in a hurry to let go. Instead, he gripped the file
tightly. âIâve helped you so many times. Shouldnât you help me in return?â
âAdrian, arenât we families? Youâre talking like itâs a trade!â Rachel smiled innocently. âBlood is thicker
than water. You should never ask something of your family when you help them, shouldnât you?â
Adrian put on a fake smile. âBlood is thicker than water. So I guess you must be willing to help me in
case I end up as a lonely old man, right?â
âAdrian, have you ever heard of a saying?â Rachel said as she pried Adrianâs fingers apart forcefully.
âSisters before misters, so thereâs no way Iâll betray my bestie for you!â
