Chapter 796
Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David)
Chapter 796
Rachel passed through the bushes and crouched all the way to the outside of the ward building.
Rachel looked up at the window above her head, and her gaze finally locked onto a ward window on
the twentyâsixth floor.
Rachel tied up her hair with a rubber band and simply moved her wrists and ankles. Then, she placed
her open palm in front of her lips and exhaled. She jumped nimbly onto the balcony of the firstâfloor
window and grabbed the drainage pipe outside the ward to climb up bit by bit.
Perhaps because Rachel had been sitting in the office for a long time and rarely exercised, a layer of
sweat could not help but appear on her forehead after she climbed only five floors.
Watching her climb like a monkey, Lucas, who was standing on the flat ground, was worried. Lucas
wanted to stop Rachel, but he was worried that he would attract the people patrolling around.
Lucas could only panic like a cat on a hot tin roof.
Lucas placed his hands on his waist and raised his head. His eyes were fixed on Rachel. When Lucas
saw Rachel slide down a little weakly, his heart instantly jumped to his throat. He instinctively reached
out his hands and lowered his voice. With a serious expression. Lucas reminded Rachel, âBe careful!â
Rachel, who had climbed to the eighth floor, could not hear clearly. She could only vaguely hear Lucas
talking. She looked down at him and smiled before continuing to climb up.
It was unknown if the heavens were sincere in opposing Rachel or if they were testing her, but it started
to drizzle unknowingly
The rain drenched the outside of the drainage pipe, greatly increasing the difficulty of climbing Rachel.
Several times. Rachelâs hands and feet slipped, and she fell uncontrollably.
Lucas, who was standing on the ground, was totally worried.
This was a fucking height of more than 60 feet. Without any protection, there was no chance of survival
if Rachel really fell.
Rachel naturally knew this, but she did not regret it.
Relying on her strong obsession to see David, Rachel finally climbed to the 26th floor.
Rachel was not in a hurry to barge into Davidâs ward. She reached out to grab the edge of the window
and stepped on the air conditioner at the same time. After testing the weight, she jumped over boldly.
Rachel looked through the window. Under the dim light, she could not see clearly. She could only
vaguely see that the ward was guarded.
Such a vigilant state made a layer of coldness appear in Rachelâs eyes.
David was so seriously injured. Rachel did not understand why he would rather seal the news than
reveal a word to her.
David even teamed up with everyone to hide it from Rachel
Could it be that in Davidâs eyes, Rachel was someone who could only be happy together and not suffer
together?
Perhaps influenced by her emotions, Rachel could not help but think of what Noah had said to her.
âMiss Grey, youâre a smart person. You should know that sometimes things arenât as simple as they
seem.
âWhy do you think the summit was brought forward? Why did the original address change to the current
Titia? Do you really think Iâm that capable?â
Initially, Rachel was confident that Noah was trying to drive a wedge between David and her. However,
the truth was right in front of Rachel. David really did not trust her.
Otherwise, David would not have hidden it from Rachel
Once this thought appeared in Rachelâs heart, it would lead Rachel to let her imagination run wild.
Rachel took a deep breath and calmed herself down. Then, she used her hands to climb onto the
balcony and pried open the window to enter.
Rachel crawled in and just stood still. Before she could see the environment in front of her clearly, she
felt a sharp fist wind attack her.
A cold glint appeared in Rachelâs eyes. She bent down to dodge and reached out to hit the personâs
abdomen.
The two of them were locked in a fierce battle.
The people outside the door heard the commotion and Billy barged in with a group of people.
Billyâs expression was cold and dark, and a vicious aura surrounded him. However, when he saw
Rachelâs face clearly, he
instantly felt as if he had been struck by lightning. His expression was stiff as he stood rooted to the
ground. His throat was dry and tense, and he shouted with difficulty, âMiss Greyâ¦â
Eddie, who was outside the door, heard the sound and stumbled in.
When Eddie saw Rachel, he was so shocked that he was speechless.
âSo youâre not dead.â Rachel raised her eyebrows slightly, and the corners of her mouth curled into a
cold smile.
Eddie and Billy looked at each other and lowered their heads guiltily at the same time.
Rachel didnât even say anything before charging over.
Didnât they block all the news?
How did Chris guard Rachel?
Rachel did not have the time to appreciate their unpredictable expressions. She said coldly. âWhere is
he?â
Eddie blurted out, âMr. Jones has just woken up and is being examined inside.â
At the side, Billy could not help but glare at Eddie.
They had agreed not to divulge a word, but the traitor took credit for it.
Just as they were thinking about how they should perform, they heard a cold and hoarse voice coming
from the ward. âCome in.â
Hearing this, Billy immediately said obsequiously, âMiss Grey, please come in. Weâll wait outside. If
thereâs anything, feel free to tell us.â
As he spoke, Billy called for the blackâclothed men behind him to leave.
After everyone left, Rachel walked straight to Davidâs ward.
When Rachel reached the door, the attending physician happened to walk out with other doctors.
He nodded slightly when he passed by Rachel.
In the ward, David had a needle in his hand and a bottle of IV drip beside him. He sat up and
methodically buttoned his hospital gown with his wellâdefined fingers.
Even so, Rachel still saw the white bandages wrapped around Davidâs body.
From his shoulder to his waist and abdomen, it was the most common ringâshaped bandaging method.
However, there was a layer of bright red blood on the white bandage, making it look especially eyeâ
catching.
Perhaps it was because David had just woken up, and his face was weak and pale.
After David put on his clothes, he slowly stood up and looked at Rachel with a helpless smile. âWhy did
you suddenly come back?â
âIf I donât come back, how long do you plan to hide it from me?â Rachel stared at David without blinking.
Rachelâs calm tone made it obvious that she was unhappy.
David walked forward and reached out to hug Rachel, but Rachel dodged David without a trace.
Davidâs hand that was raised in midair missed. He pursed his thin lips and went forward to pull Rachel
into his arms again. David buried his head in Rachelâs neck and breathed greedily. His thin lips rubbed
against her temples. His deep and cold voice sounded like it had been dipped in wine. âAre you angry?â
Rachel was held in Davidâs arms. Worried about touching the wounds on his body, Rachel did not dare
to struggle and could only quietly let him hug her.
The cool wooden fragrance that was unique to David lingered in Rachelâs nose, making her feel
something she had not felt for a long time.
All the resentment and anger in Rachelâs heart before she came were defeated at this moment.
