The One Night Stand Turns Out To Be My Professor
13
Ianâs POV
Life had a way of fucking me over plenty of times in a way that I never see coming. Just like today. I hadnât seen it coming. Yet it happened. Not once in my life did I ever see myself running away from a woman. Yet that was exactly what I had done today. I had run away from my own student. Just because she turned out to be the girl I had fucked last week in a club. The girl I had marked as mine.
Ever since I stepped into that lecture hall, I could already scent her without even seeing here. There was no way that I could forget that scent. The same scent that had almost driven me crazy the past week.
I ran my hands through my hair and slammed my hand on my desk in annoyance. This was way too frustrating.
I kept brushing off the scent. I told myself that it was just another person who used the same body products as her and that was why they smelled the same. It was until I met her eyes and saw those striking green orbs, coily red hair and tiny dots of freckles, that I confirmed she was the one.
The same girl I marked as mine. The same girl whose virginity I took.
It was like some hidden force was trying to test me.
And after the class, when she started walking to meâ¦I just had to run. I had no choice but to run. Because if anyone could ever find out that she and I had something with each other, they wouldnât care that it was before we met ourselves here. They wouldnât care that we didnât even know that I would turn out to be her history professor. They would take my job from me instantly, and I couldnât allow that to happen. This job happened to be the most interesting thing going on in my life currently.
I ran my hands through my hair and sighed. Running away from her was the behavior of an asshole, a jerk. And I felt guilty, running away from the woman I had marked as my own. Running away from her had been hard. Especially with this bond between us. A bond I was very sure she didnât even know about. How could she anyways?
If she knew what was best for her, she had to stay away from me. She had to drop the class. It was the only sensible thing to do.
I opened my laptop and saw that I even had an incoming call from my best friend already. I picked up instantly and his face appeared on my laptop screen. His striking, ocean blue eyes met mine as he sank his teeth into the veins of a rabbit, feeding.
âDid you call me to put on a show?â I asked with narrowed eyes. I was already in an irritable mood anyways.
He removed his teeth from the rabbit and dropped it on the floor before cleaning his mouth with a napkin. âWhen last did you feed?â He asked as he threw the napkin away too.
âWhen last did I feed?â I sked with a raised eyebrow. âWith all due respect, Iâm not sure how any of that is your concern.â
âIâm your best friend. Iâm just trying to look out for you,â he answered in a whining tone. âWhen last did you feed? You know how irritable you get when you havenât fed in a very long time.â
âAnd what makes you think it has been that long since I last fed?â I asked, opening a packet of chocolate I had left in my office before I had gone to the lecture all.
He ignored my question and shot me an irritated look. âSeriously? Chocolates? I expect you to be drinking blood from a bottle, or you should sink your teeth into someone there.â
âSink my teeth into someone here and risk them tracing it to me?â I argued as I bit into the chocolate. âAnd the chocolate tastes very good.â
âNot as good as hot blood. And Iâm not saying you should kill them,â he answered. âYou feed a little and compel them to forget.â
âI canât afford to loose my job just yet,â I answered. âThere are CCTV cameras around. And itâs not just about loosing my job. Theyâll kill me first. Probably burn me or stake me.â
âNo, they wouldnât know what to do with you,â he argued. âTheyâll probably just hand you over to the police to sentence you. And you know what to do to them.â
âIâm not having this conversation,â I said flatly.
âYeah, well, your brother sent meââ
âGood day, Mike,â I answered curtly and ended the call instantly. I wasnât ready to hear about Jacob just yet.
Running my hands through my hair in frustration again, I got up and walked out. Mike was right. I did get very irritable and cranky when I havenât fed in a long time. And I havenât fed in a long time.
I stood in front of my office and waited. The smell of blood was overwhelming. I could hear different heartbeats and there was one getting closer each passing second.
A boy appeared in the hallway, walking down towards my office but I knew he wasnât coming to me. As he was approaching where I stood, I looked at him. âCome here.â
He halted and turned to me. âGood afternoon, Sir,â he greeted politely. âYou need me to help you with something?â
âYes, please,â I answered with a nod. âCome inside. Let me show you.â
He nodded and walked in with me. I closed the door behind us and locked the doors before moving to him with my vamp speed, wrapping my hands around his neck and slamming him on the wall. I stared into his eyes. âDonât speak. Donât scream. Remain calm.â
I watched as the fear slowly disappeared from his eyes and he relaxed. I sank my teeth into his neck, sipping and draining him of his blood.
Blood coated my tongue. Hot and delicious.
He went lax in my arms and I withdrew instantly. He was still calm, but very pale now. If I didnât need to keep a low profile, I could always kill him and get on with it. But I had to keep a low profile.
I bit my wrist and put it to his mouth, letting him suck my blood and heal before he could die. I stared into his eyes once again. âYou will not remember anything that happened her today. You will not remember ever meeting me. You were going on your way and no one stopped you. Get out.â
The puncture marks on his neck had faded already and he stood straight, color returning to his skin. I watched as he left and then locked the door behind me. This was going to be a long day.
