Chapter 350
The Lady Nun Vows Revenge by Caroline Rowland
âAhhh!!â Matthew let out a pained scream, barely dodging the next whip strike.
âHow dare you hit me!â Matthew roared, his eyes darkening as he glared at the attacker. But seeing who it was, Matthew froze in place, completely stunned.
âDiana? What are you doing here?â Matthew asked, disbelief etched across his face.
Diana stood fiercely, her lips curling into a cold sneer. âIf I werenât here, how much longer were you planning to help that illegitimate brat bully my best friend Liza?â
At first, Matthew had been genuinely happy to see her. After all, Diana was his fiancée, and they had grown up together, practically inseparable. Their engagement had been based on mutual affection, so seeing her after a long time brought a flicker of joy.
But that joy was shortâlived. The next moment, Dianaâs furious tirade crashed into him and Sophie. Matthew frowned, his expression darkening. âItâs been months, and youâre still as hotâheaded as ever. Fine, yell at me if you must, but leave Sophie out of this. And donât speak with such words again.â
Diana let out a sharp, sarcastic laugh, her anger flaring even more. âOh, you think my words are harsh? Then maybe you shouldnât have done such disgraceful things in the first place!â
Her simmering anger exploded when she saw Matthew still defending that illegitimate girl in front of her. The fire that had momentarily subsided had roared back to life.
âMatthew, you heartless fool! What did I tell you before I left Hasen City? I told you to take good care of Liza! And this is how youâve been protecting her?
âHelping some illegitimate brat bully your sister? Whatâs wrong with you? Youâre her brother, for crying out loud!â Dianaâs voice was sharp and relentless. âI donât care if others have done it, but you, Matthew. You swore to me. And yet, in just a few months, youâve already helped that little bitch push Liza so far that she had to leave the Dukeâs estate and become a nun!
âSheâs a noble daughter of the Dukeâs estate, raised with all the love and care in the world, someone no one in Hasen City would dare to wrong. And now? Sheâs been humiliated and wronged by her brothers to the point of leaving everything behind!â
Dianaâs words came like a relentless storm, leaving Matthewâs face embarrassed. Even Benedict, standing nearby, didnât dare to get involved.
Benedict quickly had his steward, Manson, help him retreat, terrified that Diana might redirect her fury toward him.
It had been months since he last saw her, and Dianaâs temper hadnât mellowed. It was even more explosive. He was secretly relieved that heâd agreed to call Matthew out earlier. Otherwise, he wouldnât have been able to withstand Dianaâs wrath.
Moreover, since she was Matthewâs fiancée, it was only fair that he dealt with her himself. But even Matthew couldnât hold back anymore. He roared at Diana in frustration, âEnough! Shut up already!â
Diana froze for a moment, then stared at him in disbelief. âWhat did you just say? Did you tell me to shut up?â
She let out a sharp laugh, her anger bubbling over. âWell done, Matthew, youâve grown a spine, huh? Yelling at me now, are you?
âLooks like thereâs no reasoning today. Fine, no more talking. Matthew, youâre dead meat!â Her eyes flashed coldly as she took her whip and snapped it toward Matthew without a second thought.
âYou!â Matthew, who had been beaten, was furious and immediately fought back.
âThis lunatic! Why does she never let me talk things out properly?â
