Chapter 1102
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1102:
? ? ? ? ?
Erick shook his head. âI'm not clear on the details. Maybe you should visit him when you have a chance. âHeâs in the VIP room on the second floor.â
Erick thought it was the only responsible thing he could do. It was their private business, which was best resolved directly between them.
Since Mitchel didn't want Raegan to go back to him out of guilt or pity, Erick decided to temporarily hide the whole story and first observe Raegan's true feelings.
If Raegan saw Mitchel's condition and felt compelled to stay, it would indicate that she had lingering feelings. By then, she would cautiously reveal the truth, allowing him to make an informed decision.
However, if Raegan didn't have lingering feelings, even after learning of Mitchel's plight, she wouldn't stay out of mere sympathy.
So, like his brother, Erick decided to be a little selfish. He would choose to hide the truth about Mitchel's blood transfusion. He didn't want Raegan to make a decision based on those emotions, against her true wishes.
After Erick left, Raegan remained distracted for a considerable time. She struggled to grasp the full gravity of Erick's vague comments. However, this no longer seemed to be her main concern.
Raegan considered visiting Mitchel, but ultimately decided against it.
The next day, I walked around the small garden again.
Without realizing it, he approached the VIP room on the second floor. This path was not even close to the garden path!
Raegan tried to justify herself by saying that since she was already here, it might not hurt to take a quick, discreet look around. As she entered, she saw that the room was empty.
âMiss Foster,â Matteoâs voice came from behind her. âHave you come to see Mr. Dixon?â
Raegan turned around and, with flushed cheeks, stammered, âI⦠was just passing by.â
This VIP room was known for its privacy. It was not a place where one could just âstumbleâ into.
Matteo noticed, but preferred not to refute his explanation. "Mr. Dixon has just gone for a walk in the adjoining garden. You might find him there."
Matteo was obviously hoping that Raegan could offer some comfort to Mitchel in his current state.
Noticing Raegan's hesitation, Matteo asked, "Shall I join you?"
Raegan snapped out of it and refused. âNo need. âI know the way.â
After he left, Raegan felt conflicted, but she decided to move on. Even she had escaped her own confinement. How could Mitchel still be suffering so severely?
Arriving at the small garden, he saw her silhouette in the distance in a wheelchair.
Just as Raegan was about to approach, she saw Mitchel, who had been sitting, suddenly stood up with the help of a cane.
He let go of his cane to take a few steps, but his other leg gave way and he collapsed abruptly back into his wheelchair.
Raegan gasped and covered her mouth in shock. She remembered that he used to be able to stand without a cane, and that although he couldn't walk for long, he could take a few steps on his own. How had I gotten worse so quickly?
Despite the fall, Mitchel did not give up. I have tried to get up again with the support of the cane, trying repeatedly. However, the result did not change. Without the cane, he was unable to walk.
Finally, Mitchel threw the cane aside and collapsed into the wheelchair, his arm hanging lifelessly. His expression was one of utter defeat.
Raegan's heart ached at the sight. She couldn't understand why Mitchel's condition had deteriorated so drastically. It made sense now that Erick had softened his attitude towards him.
