Chapter 1164

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1164:

That left Erick momentarily speechless, his frustration almost palpable.

When Raegan woke up, she caught Mitchel waving at someone on his computer.

To keep the room quiet for Raegan, Mitchel had even arranged for an executive who was fluent in sign language to help facilitate the conversation.

Lying in the hospital room, Mitchel was wearing teal trousers and a khaki jumper. Despite their simplicity, the colors seemed to stand out on his figure.

These days, nurses would often visit him under the pretext of changing his bandages, just to catch a glimpse of this handsome man. Despite his mobility problems, his attractiveness remained undeniable.

Luckily, Mitchel's devoted attention to Raegan kept many admirers at bay. Even when he came to something as simple as handing his sneakers, he always insisted on doing it himself. Such devotion was rare, and few could tear his heart away from her.

After ending the video call, Mitchel noticed Raegan fidgeting as she looked at her reflection on the laptop screen. He walked over, poured her some water, and asked softly, “Are you awake? Why haven’t you called me?”

Taking a sip, Raegan replied, “I didn't want to interrupt your work.”

“It wouldn't have been any trouble.” Mitchel put down his cup and kissed her forehead. “Would you like to rest a little longer?”

Raegan frowned slightly. “I don't want to rest anymore. I'm not really sick, just a little weak. “I can’t stay in bed all day.”

“Okay, no more sleeping then.” Holding her hand, her eyes radiated warmth and love.

As her hand warmed in his, Raegan whispered, “Mitchel, let’s go see your mother.”

Hearing this, Mitchel agreed. “When all this is over, we will go back to Ardlens together and take the children to see my mother.”

Mitchel had been protecting Luciana. Out of concern for Alexis, he had secretly moved the severely injured Luciana out of revenge to another private hospital that she had recently attended.

Luciana's legs weren't ready to carry her yet, but her thoughts were razor-sharp. She longed to hug her grandchildren again.

Even though Mitchel was not her biological son, something Luciana had known all along, she had loved him just as deeply.

Luciana's heart ached for having pushed Raegan away, a decision she regretted for the rest of her life. But during Janey's kidnapping, she risked her life to save Janey and Raegan, trying to make up for her old mistakes.

Ultimately, Luciana's past actions did not doom her entirely. In her excessive love for Mitchel, she was the portrait of many mothers, flawed but endearing.

It was only when Raegan brought up the topic of Luciana that Mitchel revealed Luciana's awakening.

Luciana was far from blameless, but as her son, Mitchel was doing his duty, nothing more. His resentment toward her only began to dissolve when Luciana risked her life to protect Raegan and Janey from being hurt.

Through her brave actions, Luciana showed deep remorse. Mitchel felt able to forgive her, but he could not extend that forgiveness to Raegan. It was up to her. The decision to forgive was Raegan's alone.

Naturally, Raegan was inclined to forgive Luciana. Without Luciana's help, survival would have been bleak for her and Janey.

Raegan snuggled closer to Mitchel and agreed firmly. “Let’s record the kids and pay him a visit.”

Raegan had long since released any resentment toward Luciana.

From Raegan's perspective, Luciana's affection for Mitchel initially seemed self-centered, believing she was acting in her best interest. She just needed to weigh her emotions.
