Chapter 1252
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1252:
? ? ? ? ?
Seeing Nicole's gaze fixed on Roscoe, a wave of anger ran through Jarrod. Without a word, he walked past Nicole.
Unfazed by her presence, Nicole remained indifferent, but Vicki stopped and greeted politely, âMiss Lawrence.â
Nicole looked at Vicki, though puzzled by her recognition.
However, he replied politely, "Miss Hampton."
With an elegant smile gracing her face, Vicki turned to Nicole, âMiss Lawrence, during your testimony in court, you mentioned that Jarrod had threatened to take you back with the child. âI think there may have been an misunderstanding.â
Nicole remained silent as Vicki continued, âJarrod and I have enjoyed a solid relationship since our engagement a few months ago, and our wedding date is already set. âI have faith in Jarrod.â
Understanding Vicki's intention both to boast about her relationship with Jarrod and to issue a warning, Nicole replied, "Miss Hampton, your faith in Mr. Schultz is your prerogative. There is no need to involve me. I will stand by my convictions as long as you stand by yours."
Unfazed by the rebuttal, Vicki kept her smile and commented, âI just think Jarrod tends to be concise. You may have misinterpreted his intentions. âHe would never betray me.â
Not inclined to engage in further conversation, Nicole replied perfunctorily, "That reassures me."
Vicki looked upset and was about to say something else when she saw Nicole's lawyer approaching.
Quickly disguising her displeasure, Vicki said, âRest assured, Miss Lawrence. âI will take very good care of your son.â
Vicki's words surprised Nicole. Instead of genuinely caring about Austin, Vicki used the disguise of concern to issue a warning.
Nicole's tone turned cold as she stated, "If you hurt Austin, you'll regret it."
At this point, Vicki felt triumphant, wearing a faint smile as she replied, âMiss Lawrence, Iâm not sure what youâre implying.â
Vicki proved to be much more cunning than Doreen, who seemed oblivious to such tactics.
Vicki had lived a privileged life, protected from many injustices and bolstered by Wayne's favoritism. As a result, her reputation had not been tarnished by negative gossip.
However, Vicki was not ill-equipped to deal with adversity. On the contrary, her immaculate image provided her with numerous opportunities and advantages, as was now evident.
Nicole shuddered as she realized Vicki's implicit threat. Vicki had already threatened her with Austin's safety even before she began caring for him. Given Austin's frail and delicate condition, even minor accidents could pose significant risks to him. This vulnerability made it all too easy for Vicki to potentially harm him.
âVicki!â Nicole's warning was sharp and stern. âIf you dare to hurt my son, I swear I will make you pay!â
Vicki looked shocked, her hand coming to her mouth as she trembled. âMiss Lawrence, whatâs wrongâ¦?â
âDon't pretend!â Nicoleâs expression turned icy, seeing through Vickiâs previous smile.
Although Vicki covered her mouth, her eyes betrayed a smug satisfaction.
It was obvious that he was trying to unsettle Nicole.
Gritting her teeth, Nicole advanced on Vicki. âI'm deadly serious, Vicki. I'm going to kill youâ¦â
