When Alec saw Vicki, his expression changed. He wanted to stop her, but she just pushed his hand away. She quickly walked over to Jarrod and put a coat over his shoulders.

“Jarrod, you…” Vicki’s voice cracked as she saw Jarrod’s face.

It looked like dirt and blood were painted all over his face. In addition, his entire body was a mess.

It was the first time Vicki had seen Jarrod in that state. She felt pain in her heart. But she also felt resentful at the same time. She was his fiancée. How could Jarrod be so broken over another woman?

Vicki was overwhelmed by her inner turmoil and realized that she could not tolerate Nicole's presence, especially given how important Nicole was in Jarrod's heart. She could not keep her promise to Jarrod that she only wanted marriage.

He realized that he wanted more and felt that Nicole was a thorn and a poison that had penetrated deep into Jarrod's heart and mind. It seemed impossible that he could ever get Nicole out of Jarrod's heart.

"There's nothing you can do here. Go home," Jarrod said dryly.

“But… I want to stay with you…” Vicki said in an aggrieved voice.

She was his fiancée, and she didn't want to leave Jarrod alone with Nicole.

“Vicki, go home,” Jarrod said coldly. The way he said her name made Vicki's heart tremble. She knew he would only get angry if she insisted on staying.
