Chapter 1378
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1378:
? ? ? ? ?
Coming out from inside, a security guard asked: "Who are you looking for?"
Upon providing the nanny's name, Nicole was met with a puzzled frown as the guard retorts, "No such individual resides here."
Even if it existed, security usually did not recognize the servants. They only recognized the masters of the house and important people.
Unfazed, Nicole stated: "I am the biological mother of the young man here and I demand to see him."
The security guards exchanged glances. While they acknowledged Austin's presence, they remained oblivious to any mention of his birth mother.
Furthermore, Vicki was the only visitor available to care for Austin. Suddenly, a woman appeared claiming to be his biological mother. How could they accept her claim and allow her in?
Furthermore, even if she was Austin's biological mother, they couldn't let her in. Since they hadn't received instructions from Jarrod, they couldn't let her in.
They made a firm gesture: "Madam, if you are the young man's mother, you can contact Mr. Schultz for security clearance. We are only doing our duty, trying not to cause you any inconvenience."
The mansion's security guards were shrewd. Having encountered numerous so-called low-level VIPs, they refrained from condescension. Instead, they maintained an ever-courteous demeanor toward all people.
They didn't want to offend Austin's birth mother if Nicole told the truth. They didn't dare to be rude to her.
Even if it wasn't, courtesy was still a virtue. However, admission to her was only conditional on getting directions.
Nicole thought the guard's stance was correct. In the absence of Jarrod's directives, access to the estate was prohibited. She picked up her phone, thought briefly, and dialed Jarrod's number.
Unexpectedly, it was Alec who answered the call.
The recent conflict over the wedding was still simmering, and Alec's response to Nicole was far from polite. On the contrary, his tone held a hint of sarcasm.
âMiss Lawrence, what prompted you to contact Mr. Schultz? It's rather strange. What? Do you have any good news?â
Nicole ignored his ironic tone and asked bluntly, âIs Jarrod available?â
"He's busy in a meeting right now." Before Nicole could intervene, Alec added, "He's dealing with the aftermath of his previous blunder.
Miss Lawrence, your conduct at Roscoe's wedding was quite surprising.
I'm not sure what prompted Mr. Schultz to remove her from the wedding venue, but as a result, the collaboration with the Watts family has fallen apart.
It's not that the Watts family proposed to break off the collaboration. Rather, Mr. Schultz feels disdain for Roscoe and decisively ends the arrangement.
Although the termination was quite gratifying, it forced him to look for another partner, hence he is now diligently looking for alternatives despite the injuries suffered.
Nicole had never realized that Alec could be so persistently annoying.
She had talked for a long time, but none of it matched her interests. Jarrod's personal affairs failed to capture her attention.
Jarrod ended his collaboration with the Watts family or whether it mattered little to Roscoe. After all, the Watts family business was of no concern to Roscoe.
It was commendable that Jarrod was willing to stir up trouble for the Watts family. The Watts family had become less audacious lately, and at least they weren't hatching any nefarious plans against Roscoe. At the moment, their main concern revolved around Austin's safety.
Nicole said, âAlec, could you ask Jarrod to take my call? âI have some urgent business to deal with.â
âDo you really expect Mr. Schultz to abandon his duties just to take your call?â Alec asked.
Nicole, momentarily taken back, replied, âI have some exceptionally urgent businessâ¦â
"How do I articulate your character, Miss Lawrence?" Alec interrupted her again.
«Whenever you seek out Mr. Schultz, it is never anything to be commended for. Your association invariably means trouble, yet he persistently cleans up after you.
Think of the incident on the mountain road. You did not appreciate Mr. Schultz's favor in saving your life, and to top it off, you went out to find Roscoe while Mr. Schultz was unconscious. Your audacity is really something!
