Chapter 1385
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1385:

Jarrod put his phone aside, closed his eyes and used the meditation techniques his therapist had recommended.
Little by little, her emotions stabilized and the anxiety she felt inside calmed down noticeably.
That afternoon, Nicole visited the Kingbel Club as she had been instructed.
Jemma saw her and was shocked.
Knowing Nicole's recent experience, Jemma had hoped she was on the mend. Yet, there she was.
Bewildered and worried, Jemma frowned and approached Nicole, asking, âWhy are you here?â Are you feeling better now?â
Nicole agrees reassuringly. âIâm fine, and my injuries arenât as serious as you might think.â
In reality, Nicole's body had not fully recovered. Although her injuries were not as severe as Jarrod's, she had endured being trampled and suffered broken ribs during the incident. However, she chose to downplay her condition in order to spare Jemma unnecessary worry.
Looking at Nicole's pale complexion, Jemma was skeptical of her reassuring words. Frowning, she insisted, âYou still haven't told me why you're here today. Given your current state, you should prioritize rest and recovery.â
"I'm here today to cover a shift. I was invited by a client I know," Nicole said.
Nicole said.
âA familiar client?â Jemma looked skeptical. âWho could it be?â
Nicole hadn't been in the business very long, and Jemma had fixed all of Nicole's clients so far. So Nicole's mention of a known client puzzled Jemma, who didn't know anyone Nicole could be referring to.
Jemma's concern was sincere.
Although Nicole couldn't understand why Jemma was showing so much concern for her, she understood that there must be a valid reason behind it.
Unfortunately, Nicole found herself unable to tell Jemma the truth.
Vicki's warning echoed in her mind, reminding her of the consequences of revealing any details about tonight's events, or else Vicki threatened to prevent her from seeing Austin.
âDon't worry, Jemma, he really is a known client,â Nicole assured her, opting for vagueness to avoid further scrutiny.
Jemma sighed, expressing her exasperation: âYou're getting bolder and bolder. âIt feels like Iâve never known you.â
Nicole smiled, replying: âThatâs not entirely true. You introduced me to this profession and I will always follow your advice, my mentor.â
Jemma was amused by Nicole's words.
âI didn't realize you were so eloquent.â Jemma chuckled.
"But please refrain from calling me 'mentor'. Do you really intend to remain in this field indefinitely? When things calm down, you should consider leaving."
Although Jemma was aware of Vicki's actions against Nicole, she felt powerless against the Hampton family's influence. Despite this, she silently supported Nicole in any way she could.
This extended to the incident where Nicole was caught eavesdropping on a customer's conversation at the club. Jemma intervenes by releasing a cat to divert the customer's attention and thus prevent Nicole from being discovered. The consequences would have been dire.
These wealthy people went to great lengths to safeguard their secrets. Even if they refrained from resorting to lethal measures, they were capable of inflicting considerable damage. The mere thought of it filled Jemma with dread.
