Chapter 150

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

? ? ? ? ?

Mitchel's expression darkened in an instant.

However, Henley remained indifferent to Mitchel's growing anger. He scrutinized Raegan, asking with obvious concern, "Are you okay?"

Raegan just nodded.

Fury built up inside Mitchel to the brink of eruption, increasing his old resentment toward Henley.

Tongue between his teeth, Mitchel hissed, "I'm sick of you, Henley Brooks!"

Their gazes met in a silent confrontation, neither of them willing to back down.

"Mr. Dixon, you must be joking.

While Mitchel grumbled, Henley remained calm.

In an unflappable tone, Henley said, "As adults, it's perfectly normal for Raegan and I to spend time together. Perhaps it is your conduct that requires scrutiny, Mr. Dixon. After all, it's clear that Raegan doesn't enjoy his company.

Mitchel ignored Henley's last comment, instead focusing on the implication that he and Raegan were a couple.

What did Henley mean by spending time together?

Abruptly, Mitchel grabbed Henley by the neck, teeth clenched, and snapped, "Do you think you're worthy?"

Raegan's expression changed. Fearing that Mitchel would hit Henley again, he reached out to intervene and snapped, "Mitchel, let him go."

At first, Mitchel resisted letting go of Henley, but the wariness in Raegan's gaze hurt him.

He relaxed his grip and replied coldly, “I warned you. It's not good.

And you should cease all contact with him.

Raegan bristled at Mitchel's authoritarian stance. To him, anyone he didn't like was useless.

She scoffed, “Well, isn't it perfect? You are the only virtuous soul on this planet and the rest of us cannot match you.

His sarcasm implied loyalty to Henley, making Mitchel the enemy.

Uncomfortable, Mitchel conceded, "Anyway, stay away from this man."

Raegan, indignant, replied: “Mr. Dixon, by what right do you dictate my life?

"I'm looking out for your own good," Mitchel insisted.

Her patience exhausted, Raegan replied, “How kind. But perhaps, Mr. Dixon, you should mind your own business.”

Their arguments intensified. To onlookers, they looked like a couple arguing rather than two who had broken up.

A shiver flickered in Henley's gaze as she grabbed Raegan's wrist, stating firmly, "We're leaving, Raegan."

“Stay, Raegan,” Mitchel intervened, grabbing her other hand in an icy tone.

«Let me take you home. “Ignore it.”

Raegan decisively freed herself from Mitchel's grasp, responding simply, "No, thank you."

Mitchel's expression darkened at his quick rejection.

«Do you really think it's decent? Are you aware of his vileness?

Before Raegan could respond, Henley interjected, “Mr. Dixon, apart from any misunderstanding, I refrained from revealing my feelings to Raegan while I was married. "Now that she's single, I intend to pursue her."

Raegan stood up, shocked by the revelation. Did Henley want to chase her?

Mitchel's temper flared instantly.

«Do you want to chase her? How dare you?

However, Henley remained unfazed, with a smile on his lips. “Chasing after someone as impressive and capable as Raegan is daunting, but…”

His gaze locked onto Mitchel's, with an obvious smile.

«For having helped free her, Mr. Dixon, I thank you.

His words mocked Mitchel, unleashing Mitchel's fury that resulted in a punch that sent Henley sprawling, his mouth dripping with blood.

Henley, adamant as never before, counterattacked with a swift punch to Mitchel's jaw.

They faced each other, each refusing to give in.

In healthier times, Mitchel would have easily subdued Henley, but his recent illness left him breathless after just a few blows.

Raegan screamed in desperation: “Stop it! Stop it, Mitchel!

Mitchel hesitated, his fist in the air, which Henley took advantage of to mock even more: "I plan to court and marry Raegan."

That provoked Mitchel into another assault, only stopping when Raegan rushed in, pushing him back. Then he turned to Henley, concern etched on his face.

“Are you hurt, Henley?”

Despite his worse condition, Henley had ceased his attack upon hearing Raegan's words, unlike Mitchel, who seemed reluctant to stop.

"I'm fine," Henley assured Raegan gently.

The sight hurt Mitchel.

Mitchel grabbed Raegan's arm, his eyes bloodshot with emotion.

“Is he really the one you want?”

Raegan was just irritated. Was that even an option? Mitchel's absurdity was laughable.

The thought of being in someone's debt irritated her. Now, with Henley injured because of him, his stress multiplied.

With clear irritation, he replied, “Mitchel, I thought it was clear we were done. Why keep hurting my friend?

With that, he helped Henley to his feet, preparing to head to the car.

Mitchel momentarily looked like a clown, the butt of his own joke.

He balled his hands into fists, noticing the reopening of his wound, which was now bleeding again.

However, Raegan couldn't see it, or simply turned a blind eye.

His emotional turmoil and fury no longer held his gaze.

Overwhelmed by frustration, exhaustion, and a sense of defeat, he felt crushed by its weight.

Watching Raegan's retreating figure, Mitchel coldly declared, "Raegan, leave with him and it's over forever."

He recognized the folly of her threat, but he could not bear her leaving with Henley.

Raegan hesitated only a moment before resuming her departure without looking back.

For her, their relationship had ended with the loss of her baby and her subsequent divorce.

Mitchel's laugh broke the tension as he taunted, "Raegan, have you wanted this so bad? Were you involved even before our divorce, eager to be together?

Her voice exuded a bitterness tinged with envy that he didn't recognize.

He spat spitefully: “You are simply a woman I have left behind. If you decide to be with him, from now on you have nothing to do with me.

Mitchel was clearly enraged.

His thoughts were chaotic, confusing good and evil, as he lashed out with rage.

He desperately wanted Raegan to turn and look at him.

How could he dismiss it so desperately?

Abruptly, Raegan stopped, pressing Henley's arm to silence him, whispering, "Just a second."

He turned to face Mitchel.

With his eyes locked on hers, Mitchel challenged, “Raegan, you think I can't go on without you.”

Slap! Raegan's slap echoed, her hand throbbing from the impact.

Staring at him, fury in her eyes, Raegan fiercely enunciated, "This slap is for our baby."
