Chapter 1596

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1596:

? ? ? ? ?

Jarrod's mind began to put two and two together, ignoring Rhett's conversation.

Rhett continued talking, but Jarrod suddenly stood up and declared, “You can go now.”

Rhett was momentarily speechless. Stunned for a few seconds, he insisted, “Mr. Schultz, please reconsider. What could be more crucial than the healthy psychological development of a child?”

Ignoring Rhett's words, Jarrod walked over to his desk, activated the intercom, and said, "Show Mr. Bates out."

The deputy soon arrived and politely ushered Rhett out. Rhett remained professional, though, urging Jarrod to think things through and avoid further escalation.

Jarrod entered the name of the drug into his computer. The photo Rhett had submitted focused only on the agreement, with the drug barely visible in the corner, showing only part of its name. He typed in the remembered letters, and the search results identified it as a drug used to terminate early pregnancies.

Early pregnancy… Jarrod was surprised by these words. He sat down at his computer, oblivious to his assistant's initial efforts to get his attention for a meeting. “Mr. Schultz, the meeting is waiting for you…”

Before the assistant could finish, Jarrod interrupted: “Check on Nicole’s latest movements, especially in the hospital.”

The assistant agreed. “Right away. And the meeting?”

“Cancel it,” Jarrod replied without hesitation.

The aide was momentarily silent, watching Jarrod's impulsive actions in surprise.

As the assistant left, Jarrod stared at the computer screen, lost in thought, his brow furrowed in concentration. He pondered whether his suspicions were unfounded and he was overly distrustful.

Later that night at the bar.

Sitting in a booth, Jarrod waited for the fashionably late Mitchel.

With a snort, Jarrod commented, “It’s getting harder to catch up with you these days.”

In a calm tone, Mitchel replied: “Bars no longer suit my taste. When I return, my children are bothered by the smell. Let’s meet in a restaurant next time.”

Luis, sitting nearby, couldn't resist joking: "You've transformed into the epitome of a devoted husband. It's almost too perfect; it gives me goosebumps."

“Enough joking,” Mitchel replied coldly.

“What do you think of the Watts family situation?” Jarrod asked, cutting to the chase.

“I support the project as it is an almost philanthropic initiative, which aligns perfectly with the future trajectory of the Dixon Group,” Mitchel said bluntly.

“There are plenty of charitable initiatives out there. Why choose one that involves Roscoe? Are you trying to fracture our brotherhood?” Jarrod's tone turned icy.

Mitchel remained silent.

Luis tried to ease the tension. “Come on, gentlemen. It's been six months since we last met, and you're already at odds? “Let’s make it light.”

Luis served drinks to Mitchel and Jarrod, commenting: “They are at my house to relax. “No business discussions allowed.”

But Mitchel refused, pushing the drink away. “Raegan forbids me to drink.”
