Chapter 384

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

? ? ? ? ?

"Okay, I understand."

Since their first meeting, Raegan had distrusted Lauren. He had an inexplicable and intense dislike for Lauren. It was as if fragments of his memory hinted at something that had happened in the past.

Nicole, moved by curiosity, asked: “Let it go. How did you manage to get those videos?

After all, Cary and Lauren were having an affair in a bathroom.

Raegan explained: "The bathroom where they had sex is conveniently close to the men's bathroom. A cook overheard her moans, prompting him to investigate. "He ascended through the ventilation system and came across the scene, capturing it on video."

Stumbling upon the video was a stroke of luck. Without the cook's timely action, discovering that Lauren was sleeping with Cary, a married man, would have been almost impossible for a stranger.

However, even without this video, Erick's partner had managed to recover surveillance footage that day. He could still exonerate Raegan of any wrongful accusations.

However, the video in which Lauren appeared attracted the most attention. Plus, it was Matteo who sent the video to Raegan. This implied that Mitchel had already seen it.

Raegan couldn't help but wonder about Mitchel's reaction to Lauren making out with another man. Did allowing him to punish Lauren mean that Mitchel didn't care about Lauren? She didn't give a damn anyway.

Putting aside her tangled thoughts, Raegan linked arms with Nicole and said playfully, "I heard there's a delicious restaurant upstairs." Let's treat ourselves, followed by a spa session. We can even soak in the hot springs. Doesn't that sound fantastic?

"Sounds fantastic to me." Nicole smiled.

Not far away, watching as Raegan and Nicole happily strode away, Luis made a deliberate compliment: “Well, I must say that Raegan has become my idol. "Who knew I had so much skill in dealing with those troublemakers!"

Luis nudged Mitchel's shoulder playfully, joking, "It looks like he doesn't even need your help. Do you feel disappointed?

Mitchel was silent for a while and then responded nonchalantly: "It calms me that she knows how to take care of herself."

Luis smiled at him and said: «Come on! I doubt you weren't worried a moment ago.

"Honestly, I wasn't worried at all." Mitchel raised an eyebrow and continued with a fond smile, "I'd take care of the situation if it went wrong."

Hearing this, Luis couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy. «Look at you! You are a hopeless romantic. "I can't help but think that you will help Raegan even when she wants to take someone down."

Mitchel shook his head, refuting: “No, it's not that. "I would finish the target for her." In other words, he would do anything for Raegan.

Luis was momentarily speechless. He felt like he shouldn't have brought it up in the first place. Otherwise, Mitchel wouldn't have the chance to show him his love.

In the middle of their conversation, Luis suddenly remembered Jarrod. By the way, wasn't Jarrod supposed to join us at the charity party? Where is?"

At the entrance to the fairgrounds, the sun beat down mercilessly. It was the middle of the day of the hottest month of the year. The outside temperature skyrocketed, turning the surroundings into an oven.

Seemingly immune to the scorching heat, Jarrod knelt before a magnificent statue of a goddess. His back was straight and his knees were slightly apart.

Three long hours had passed, but he was still in that immovable position.

His entire body was drenched in sweat.

The temperature outside was stifling at that time.

Despite Alec's attempts to dissuade Jarrod, he remained firm in his decision not to get up. He even resisted Alec's offer to hold the umbrella for him and refused to drink water.

Jarrod's stubbornness was his way of punishing himself. He understood that the more he suffered, the more satisfaction Nicole would get from it.

Although Jarrod knew Nicole might be playing a prank on him, he insisted on following her instructions. To ensure Nicole's satisfaction and even forgiveness, he approached the task with unwavering dedication.

After a considerable time, the scorching sun took its toll on him, causing him serious sunstroke.

His once handsome face was now unnaturally red, and sweat was pouring down like a torrent.

Despite Alec's repeated calls, Jarrod still didn't respond.

Seeing this, Alec became frantic and planned to forcibly take Jarrod to the hospital.

However, when Alec's hand touched Jarrod's, Jarrod's deep, imperious voice stopped him in his tracks. "Enough!"

Undeterred, Alec pleaded, “Mr. Schultz, you can't go on like this.

"He is suffering from sunstroke."

“I'm fine,” Jarrod insisted with difficulty, his thin lips pale and dry. "I can take it."

With no other option, Alec reluctantly knelt next to Jarrod. After a while, the heat became unbearable for Alec. The concrete road, magnified by the intense temperature, looked like a scorching barbecue even through his pants. It looked like it was going to burst into flames at any moment.

Consequently, Alec was forced to remain on his feet to maintain sobriety. If Jarrod fainted later, he would be the one to take care of him.

And so another three hours passed.

Jarrod's previously rosy face turned pale and his back hunched slightly.

These were the hottest days of summer, and despite the scorching weather, Jarrod's limbs felt wet and cold, as if a cold breeze had entered his body.

A deep coldness took hold of him, causing him to shiver involuntarily. He recognized it as a probable case of heat stroke.

It was possible to survive if the symptoms were mild, but death could be the outcome if the symptoms were severe.

However, Jarrod was not ready to succumb to death just yet. It wasn't because he thought his life was valuable. His determination was because Nicole was back. He had waited for her return for five long years. Therefore, collapse at this time was not an option.

As if remembering something, Jarrod fumbled for a sharp Swiss army knife on his belt.
