«Nicole, don't worry. The police are here..."
At Roscoe's words, Jarrod's expression darkened. Roscoe and Nicole seemed quite intimate.
Nicole, witness to Alec's assault on Roscoe, glared at Jarrod.
âMake it stop!â
Jarrod was deeply irritated by her demand. His jealousy flared, turning into rage as he held her tighter.
âLet go of me!â Nicole continued to resist.
Then, Jarrod's anger transformed into a sinister smile, of overwhelming intensity. He said to Roscoe: 'Look closely. Look who it belongs to.
Then, with a strong squeeze, Jarrod grabbed Nicole by the neck, pinning her against the wall, and kissed her fiercely, almost lifting her off the ground.
The kiss, aggressive and dominant, caught Nicole off guard, and she felt it more like a punishment than an act of affection. Her fight was futile against his superior strength.
Meanwhile, Roscoe was struggling with Alec at the door and shouting, "Let her go, you lunatic." Jarrod finally released Nicole after her forceful demonstration.
Holding his cheeks, with his eyes tinted red, he smiled a chilling smile.
"Nicole, you can't beat me and I won't let you go again."
His tone was cold, like a curse, sending shivers down Nicole's spine.
At that moment the law enforcement officers arrived, asking, "Is Mr. Jarrod Schultz here?"
Jarrod released Nicole, calm. "It's me".
The agents showed their badges and then stated: "Mr. Schultz, we have received reports that implicate you in financial fraud and illicit business dealings behind the scenes. Please come with us to question him.â
"Okay," Jarrod replied calmly, without putting up any resistance.
Walking past Alec, Jarrod ordered, "Take care of her."
Take care of her? Alec was furious, wanting nothing more than to be rid of Nicole. But he did not want to disobey Jarrod, nodding. "Understood.
Jarrod looked at Nicole, with an unexpectedly kind smile.
Nicole didn't understand what was amusing him. Feeling a cold chill, he watched her calm departure, deepening his unease.
At that moment, Nicole saw again the inflexible and ruthless Jarrod, who stopped at nothing, who showed no vulnerability. This realization weighed heavily on her, making her feel weak.
Roscoe immediately supported her, his face full of worry. "Nicole, what's wrong?"
Feeling exhausted, Nicole leaned heavily on Roscoe's arm. Everything seemed surreal to him.
