Erick continued to calm Elin with gentle caresses on her back.
The subtle aroma of sandalwood emanating from Erick's body enveloped Elin, offering her a comforting hug that seemed to ease her agitation.
She clung to him tightly, as if he were the only beacon of hope in the darkness of her life.
Instead of returning to Elin's apartment, the car headed to Erick's villa.
Upon arrival, Elin remained in the car, looking at the house but hesitant to leave.
Erick opened the car door and leaned over to pick her up, his arms supporting her back with a gentlemanly touch, creating a feeling of warmth and security. It was clear that he paid attention to every detail.
Once inside the bedroom, Erick gently laid Elin down and suggested, âI'll run you a bath so you can relax. Then we will have dinner together.
Elin clutched his shirt and said uneasily, âI should go backâ¦â
But Erick immediately vetoed the idea, saying, âYou're going to stay here until we've resolved the situation with Dayton. "It's not safe for you to stay at home."
And he prepared to take a bath before returning downstairs with a bag of clean clothes, carefully prepared by his assistant. After placing her next to the bathtub, he left the room to give her privacy.
The hot bath relieved Elin's tension, and she felt much more comfortable.
The food, skillfully prepared by the villa's housekeeper, was light and nutritious.
Elin could only eat a small amount before she felt full.
But Erick's encouragement led her to eat almost half of it.
That same night, Erick returned with a first aid kit to treat Elin's wounds. Under the soft glow of the room's lights, his focused attention exuded a captivating charm.
Lost in thought, Elin found herself staring at him until their eyes met. Embarrassed, she quickly looked away.
However, Erick gently lifted her chin and whispered, âFeel free to look. "I don't charge."
Elin's cheeks flushed red upon hearing his words. The meticulous arrangements Erick had made helped almost completely dispel the fear he had felt.
Seeing Elin's dejected appearance at the police station had hurt Erick deeply, causing him to stop thinking about her previous distant behavior towards him.
Men like Erick, admired and persecuted by many, usually had a strong pride.
Even if it was just companionship, he expected genuine affection, not fickleness. Elin's casual mention of becoming accustomed to being Dayton's wife had deeply wounded his pride.
Despite growing up together as childhood sweethearts, it seemed to Erick that Elin placed more value on Dayton, who had suddenly appeared and treated her badly. Although she claimed that she no longer loved Dayton, it still hurt her, since they had surely married for love in the first place.
Erick knew he wouldn't have come into the picture if it hadn't been for Dayton's mistreatment of Elin, which led her to quit Dayton.
Erick tried not to dwell on these thoughts, feeling somewhat embarrassed for brooding over such concerns.
