Chapter 959

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 959:

? ? ? ? ?

Henley's complexion went from pale to red and then settled into a cold expression.

"Isn't he the same?" He scoffed.

“Raegan, you should realize that all men are somewhat alike. Nobody is free from selfishness. In the past, it caused all kinds of problems because I got too close to you. His feelings for you were just possessiveness. "Only you women think that this is love, so naive."

Henley concluded confidently: "Actually, for us men, love and possession are the same thing."

Following her lengthy statement, Raegan responded: "No, he's different from you, and he's different from a lot of other men."

Raegan preferred not to elaborate further, knowing that there were aspects that Henley would never understand.

Henley's obsession had already penetrated deeply into his being. His childhood might have something to do with it, but that didn't make it right for someone to turn evil and plot against others.

The reason why humans had evolved to become the most advanced primates was the possession of intelligence, commitment, love and many other virtues…

If the majority of people gave in to their grievances and struggles, resorting to hurting and persecuting others, then humanity would never have achieved its historical greatness. On the contrary, he would have surrendered to selfishness and darkness a long time ago.

"Henley, I'm warning you, either you leave now, or if you try to stop me..." Raegan stopped, raising the scissors in her hand, and spoke firmly and sincerely.

«These little scissors may not hurt you, and I may not have the strength. But if you come to me, I'll cut the detonator wire. If you are willing to risk both your life and mine, then stay.

As Raegan said this, her expression remained surprisingly calm and collected, as if she were simply preparing to trim some leaves with scissors, not cut a detonator wire.

Henley was completely taken aback. Her unwavering gaze made him believe that if pushed hard enough, she would truly move forward.

Suddenly, a burning jealousy rose from his heart to his head, making every pore on his body stand on end. "Tell me, what is it about Mitchel that makes you want to go this far?"

Henley's frustration was overwhelming. "Even if their wedding was just for show, you can't tell me it didn't hurt you at all!"

Henley was not reconciled. Why…why couldn't Raegan treat him like that? He believed he had been as devout as Mitchel.

Like today, he knew the building was full of explosives, and he still came back to rescue her. They were both risking their lives. What was the difference?

"Of course they hurt me," Raegan freely acknowledged.

Even now, remembering the past few weeks when Mitchel had been cold toward her, her heart still ached.

But after Matteo explained everything to her, Raegan found it impossible to hold on to her anger. Understanding his poor health and the extent of his scheming against a large group, all just to make things easier for him. He even revoked the will and added more favorable conditions for her.

Mitchel's deal with Alexis and Henley had been about securing advantages for herself and the children. He had even endangered himself by setting a trap to catch the infamous Lorenzo. The purpose behind her actions was unmistakable… It was all for her.

That time in the car, hearing Lorenzo's upset voice, Raegan realized that until this villain was caught and held accountable, she would never have a peaceful day. Lorenzo was a threat to many and, at any moment, he could target her.

Therefore, Mitchel's last act was to try to capture Lorenzo himself. The reason he had a wedding with Katie was to catch Lorenzo off guard, making him believe that she was no longer important to Mitchel.

All of this was what Matteo had told Raegan earlier on the phone, and putting the dots together, Raegan was sure that this was precisely Mitchel's plan.

Raegan looked at the bewildered Henley and said, "Although I cannot accept the methods he believed suited me, I can understand them." He did not selfishly manipulate me into choosing him using love as moral blackmail.

There are acts he has done that I may never know about, and yet he did them without wanting anything in return... All he wanted was my safety and that of my children, to alleviate his own worries. Any of the acts I have said are reason enough for me to do this.

In his final moments as a man, Mitchel sacrificed his own well-being, pouring all his efforts into protecting the woman and son he cherished. Raegan was sure he had fulfilled the roles of companion and father. With his sickly body, he had already done enough. Now it was her turn to act on his behalf.

Henley's face seemed to have turned to stone. At that moment, he felt like a misfit clown, trying too hard to fit into their world, only to be pushed aside.

He had never felt so intensely that he was about to lose Raegan. No, it was more accurate to say that he had never really had what he was now about to lose.
